We’ve cruised with NCL before, and that’s also the line we have our January cruise booked with. I was just looking at MSC and thinking about booking another one because they are giving a free beverage package (very limited selection for alcohol, but you can upgrade it at a reasonable price). The Meraviglia has Cirque du Soleil onboard!! We watched Circus of Dreams on NCLs Epic which was awesome I’m looking forward to cruising on Meraviglia.
Do you vary your destinations, or do you tend to stick to the same area such as the Caribbean?
Iv done the free beverage package. Keep in mind ull need to pay tax on top ( around 100 per person ). But its worth it if u drink a lot. I had like 5 mudslides a day!
Cirque du soleil on the breakway was amazing
I vary my destinations whenever possible. Im from NYC and I usually only choose the ports that leave here. Not a fan of flying out to FL to catch the ship
Im looking to do a 14 day european cruise in the future. So far iv only done bahamas and bermuda
I did a 7 day Mediterranean cruise with Costa and it was a lot of fun. Toured Pompeii and Carthage which were my personal favorites. haha The cruise itself, we had a lot of fun. I went with my 2 cousins.
Before that, I had done 2 different Caribbean cruises with Carnival, a weekend one to the Bahamas, and a 7 day one to Jamaica, Mexico, and the Cayman Islands.
Maybe it was my age, or the ship style, but the Costa cruise seemed so much more mellow than Carnival.
We were loud. Which is the norm for my family (Puerto Ricans.... haha - when the booze flows, we have one volume)... But on Carnival we blended in with our loudness. On Costa, we stood out. People knew who we were.... not sure if that was a good thing, or a bad thing... but either way, we had a blast!
I would love to go on an Alaskan Cruise, though.1 -

I just got back from a five night cruise to the Caribbean. Ports in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. It was on Carnival-which I won't do again. It wasn't bad, but having been on Disney and Royal Caribbean, Carnival pales in comparison. Loved our shore excursions. We're talking about pricing Hawaiian cruises for next winter. We did a round of whole30 prior to the cruise-not for the cruise or weight loss per say, but the weight loss was a nice side effect.1

twas so yum. i had a bartender app ready before boarding lol asking for drinks i never even heard of.
We did a Mediterranean cruise with Celebrity if you want to go to that part of the world it's worth it. We started in Rome, well the port near there. Mourn lost luggage arrived as the car came to take us to the ship. We had 3 stops in Greece, 2 in Turkey and then Naples. It was awesome. We had the drink package and awesome wait staff in the dining room so my glass was never empty
We've cruised Celebrity, Norwegian, Carnival and Disney I'd rank them in that order. Norwegian we did the Hawaiian islands.... It was fabulous. Celebrity the highlight was the 16oz Margarita I discovered. Celebrity has the best steakhouse1 -
Celebrity is currently offering a free drink package for ocean view rooms and above. Drinks is definitely where cruise lines get you as the actual fare is pretty cheap for being mostly all inclusive.
Cruises might seem expensive, but if you price out airfare, hotels, and food costs at all the destinations, they are a very affordable compared to traditional vacations.
Bermuda would be nice. It’s on our list so I can see pink sand! It sounds magical! We tend to select our cruises based solely on price and itinerary. We have one with carnival booked which goes to Turks and Caicos and the Dominican Republic.
I REALLY want our next one booked to be in the South Pacific, Amazon River, or Northern Europe (like Iceland—a northern lights cruise!!).2 -

Sounds awesome!
We started in Barcelona, and went to Marseilles, Savona, Naples, Palermo, Tunis (Tunisia), and Palma de Mallorca. I think Palma was my favorite location and we did a bicycle tour.
My cousin had a wine package, but since we were there celebrating our 30th birthdays, the crew found out and kept sending us free bottles of wine. So we had a LOT of wine.... We did maybe 4-8 cafe au laits during the day, at least 2-3 bottles of wine at dinner... massive fruity fun drinks after dinner..... It was insane.
My aunt is a cruise travel agent. So next time I want a cruise.... I'm calling her. hahaha She is a jack of all trades. She also works in IT and sings opera. haha0 -

So awesome. We did a cruise for our honeymoon. The cruise director saw us looking at pics and the next day we were seated at the captains table. They always look out for you on cruises i find.

Look for concierge class on celebrity. There's usually a free perk like beverage package and you get a slightly larger room plus afternoon canapés and a bottle of sparkling wine on your room1 -

It's not a short vacation if you refuse to get off of the boat and know where to hide.1 -

I did an Alaskan cruise last year on Royal Caribbean. It was amazing. We stopped in Juneau, Skaagway and Victoria, Port was in Seattle so we explored there as well. I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful it was up there. Of course, we went in June, so it was "warm".0 -
We did a cruise for our Honeymoon in February/March! At first, we were completely nervous, now I am ready for my next one! Really loved it.

I don’t think I am much of a cruise person. Took my first about sixteen years ago. Just my husband and I. The ports were fine (eastern Caribbean) but I would have preferred to spend more time exploring the islands, immersing myself in the culture, and seeing more than the same stores selling watches and tanzanite jewelry. I found the time at sea kind of boring. I am not much of a lounge by the pool sipping pina coladas girl. Even though we took advantage of all the ship had to offer (gym, art auctions, casino, disco, and all the nightly entertainment) I started to get a little stir crazy. Of course my experience was also somewhat tainted by the fact that I caught the Norovirus. I’d never felt so sick in my life. The advantage of the ship’s tiny bathroom was that I could sit on the toilet and vomit into the sink simultaneously. At least I didn’t gain any weight on that cruise.
My next cruise was a decade later. My parents treated my brother and I, with our spouses and all the grandkids. My grandma (who was nearly 90 at the time) came as well. It was fine. The kids had a blast at the kids’ club, which gave us parents a bit of freedom (when you’re a stay at home mom, traveling with the kids isn’t a vacation...it’s a business trip.) Again, while I can appreciate the convenience of staying in one room while you get to visit different islands/cities/countries, I just feel like you don’t really get an appreciation for each destination. I think if you are looking for a relaxing vacation, cruising is a good way to go...I just prefer my holidays to be more about exploration and discovery. Seeing the sights, but also getting to feel a little like a local, stumbling across some great hidden treasure off the beaten path. I don’t want to feel I have to rush back to the ship to make my seating in the dining room so I can still catch the Motown review in the theater that night.
I think I might better appreciate one of those European river cruises (my parents happen to be on one now). And I would be willing to do an Alaska cruise (with a land package)...but I am in no rush to float around the Caribbean again any time soon.1 -

I understand this as well. Sometimes that thought has crossed my mind, but then I figure, once I’ve seen all these different places, if there is somewhere that I absolutely fall in love with, I’ll go back to that country explore it a little more in-depth on another vacation.

This.
We took a cruise on Seabourne. It's a smaller boat than most cruise ships ( and imho, that's a good thing).
Large cabin and great amenities; there was a lot to like. I just wanted to hang out in Saint Barths rather than climbing back on the boat.

My husband and I collect passport stamps and a bill in the local currency. We also try a locally brewed beer in each port. I’d like to take the rum tasting tour when we’re in Puerto Rico to board our ship.0
