Just wondering if there are any other people on MFP who love to cruise often. Our next one isn’t until January so I’m using this as my motivation to get back in shape

I love cruises. Actually looking at a cruis for july or august this year. Love the norweigion breakaway ship

I was clean eating for 2 weeks to prep lol

We’ve cruised with NCL before, and that’s also the line we have our January cruise booked with. I was just looking at MSC and thinking about booking another one because they are giving a free beverage package (very limited selection for alcohol, but you can upgrade it at a reasonable price). The Meraviglia has Cirque du Soleil onboard!! We watched Circus of Dreams on NCLs Epic which was awesome I’m looking forward to cruising on Meraviglia.

Do you vary your destinations, or do you tend to stick to the same area such as the Caribbean?

I been on one many years ago and it was fun . One day like to go on it again but this time go to the Hawaiian islands

Hawaii wouldn’t somewhere I’d choose by itself, but I wouldn’t mind if it was included with one of the South Pacific cruises which is one of my top choices along with Northern Europe and the Amazon River.

I was just in a cruise actually. I have many mixed opinions actually on whether or not I would go again. Overall though it was a pleasant experience.

What was it that gave you a mixed opinion?

From my understanding, MSC don’t charge a percentage if the package is bought prior to embankment, but once onboard there’s a 15% service charge. That saves several hundred dollars and really has me turning away from NCL to try out MSC.

It can suck having to fly to the embarkment port, but for us here in Oklahoma, we don’t have a choice. I actually don’t mind for the most part because we plan on always flying in early or staying after to explore that city as well.

I’ve been on cruise critic and joined the roll call to meet people who will also be on the same cruise, but I haven’t come across anyone close to our age. The older crowd doesn’t seem to have the same interests we have like parasailing.

That’s why I love them so much! We’re getting to see San Juan, St Lucia, St Marteen, British Virgin Islands, Arub, Curacao, Bonaire, Grenada, and Barbados all in 1 trip. Traveling is our passion, and our goal is to see as many places as possible! I’m constantly trying to recruit friends and family to join us, but most people seem very content to just stay in the same place their entire life.

Anyone wanna complete our weight loss journey together with a celebration cruise at the end? The more the merrier!

we did a short one to see how the boy fared at cruising. With all things Disney it's done well. It's pricier but hey it's Disney. I wouldn't seek out a Disney cruise per se because we're not Disney fanatics but if you love Disney it's perfect cause you can also add on extra days easily at Disney at the beginning or end. If you just want to cruise you can get much cheaper and just as fun for kids on other lines. We went with Carnival for our last one and they had lots of fun stuff for kids like a kids movie by the pool every evening and Build a Bear on board. He didn't really like the kids club though, he loves the Celebrity kids club.

Neither of us are Disney fanatics, I have just heard that it is a magical experience... but this is good feedback. Ill keep my options open and look into other lines

Everything is magical with Disney but for the cruises you pay a premium which isn't magical and really you can get just as awesome a time from other lines. We have been told either go for the ship or the itinerary. But really with Disney other than character appearances it was pretty standard cruising, although I think there was no onboard casino.

I dunno, my ex father in law forced us to take a cruise with the rest of the family years ago. If I’m being honest, and I am, it felt like shopping at Walmart for a week, only there was no way out.

Haha too funny. This reminded me of a Carnival cruise out of Galveston...double the fun due to the airline losing my luggage so a 6am shop at a Houston Walmart for all my clothes...bad enough but the entire cruise had that feel....luckily there were excursions.
