Hello everyone! I joined myfitnesspal with the goal of toning my body and gaining a little muscle. I'm a 5'2, 22 year old female weighing 112 pounds, and am a perfect example of skinny fat. As of recently I've been doing 30 min of cardio and some "muscle building" with a dumbbell, but I'm not sure how to go about this, such as how much cardio I should do vs weight lifting (I currently don't have a gym membership, only a 10lb dumbbell lol) so any tips would be incredibly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

There are lots of body weight exercises you could start with as well that require zero investment :) Google can be your friend, if you like variety, I find Shape magazine quite often has some ideas that give me something new to try now and then using minimal equipment if you don't have access to any.

Two good threads for you to read:

The lifting one includes some beginner bodyweight programs, so you don't necessarily need a gym or much equipment to get started.

You could always check out YouTube videos on exercises you can do at home. Maybe Pilates or Yoga? Anyway, there are those old standbys like push ups and situps, etc. There are quite a few exercises to do with your dumbbells. What kind of cardio do you like? I tried out the Couch to 5K app for my phone and enjoyed running outside. I think you'll find that having both weight training and cardio will help you out. I have no idea what the ideal mix of cardio/weights is, but I just do what I enjoy because consistency with anything is key.
