Shedding 90 lbs in ONE year...anyone successful?

My trainer said this is possible. I’m currently at 215 pounds and would love to weigh 130-140 lbs... Honestly what’s on the scale is just a number. If I’m content and confident with how my body looks in the mirror, I’ll be happy. As of now, I’m just a little too *soft* for my liking. I would love to be fit and curvy! I’ve got natural curves so I’m hoping to keep them on this weight loss journey.
Anyone was/is in the same boat as me?

I am! I aim for 150 and currently weigh 230. Yes, it is possible. I have gotten down to 170 in six months a few years ago. Let's do it!4

I lost over 100 lbs in 8 months and 4 days. I changed everything though... my activity, what I ate and how much I ate.

I lost my first 100 pounds in 13 months so thats close enough....From 235 to 135. May or may not be possible, But you can get a big chunk in so no worrying just go and do the things and enjoy whatever results come4

78 lbs in 9 months, but I'm practically at goal now. Maybe 6 lbs more just to get below 200...4

100 lbs in a little under 7 months. Total of 140 lbs in 1 year.
Was very strict sticking to 1200 calories, except Thanksgiving & Christmas. Ate all foods in moderation & strict portion control.8 -

I've lost 98lbs in 1 year and 1 week...so... almost.
I'm a 50 year old female who doesn't have a lot of time to workout and I have a desk job. I started at 25613 -
I did it.
234 and BF% in the 40s to 135, BF% 14.
I was previously a trainer/very fit.
I knew what to do and had drifted away.
Refocused on my priorities, started slow.
10K steps a day, food tracking.
Eventually added ultra distance training, HIIT, the whole package.
But: dropped the weight with diet and consistency.
The training I do for composition and performance goals.
Dropped the weight in 9 months.
The years following have been about getting back to elite level conditioning.

I managed to lose 140lbs in 10 months through being strict and working out nearly every day. It was a hard but rewarding slog. I don't recommend it though as it's simply not sustainable. Small and often weight losses every week is the way forward.5

Absolutely possible but everybody's different. It's amazing how your body can respond in great ways if you are determined and set goals and put your mind to it. I'm half way to 100 lbs lost and it's only been 82 days. I'm doing keto plus intermittent fasting. I eat once a day in a 30 to 45 min window. I'm also weight training and mountain biking regularly. Find what works best for you and stay focused and you will be successful.3

I lost about 107 lbs in one year.... I've got another 20 or so to go.
But I started at 288, not 215...... I think that's going to be the biggest factor.

I think it's possible! I lost 74lbs in 8 and a half months. I didn't have more to lose, but I imagine that if I did and I had kept up that pace it would happen. Good luck!2

No special diets, just logging my calories here and always staying within my goal. I am pretty disciplined, even my cheat meals came in within my calories for the day. I did give up soda, but only because I can't control myself with it and I hate diet soda. I eat less carbs than before but that's because there is not a lot of room for them. I still have a sandwich every day, pizza once a week and a small treat almost daily. I just don't have a huge bowl of pasta for dinner every night! I work out 6 days a week. A mix of cardio, circuit training and strength training. My advice would be to weigh everything. Be honest with your logging and you will be able to do it!! Good luck!8 -
Yes. 5'7" female, starting weight 221, took me a year to lose 60lbs. Goal weight is 145, currently weigh 161. It's been a struggle to lose the last 15.
I started Strong Curves and in the last 45 days my body has changed so much (for the better). Shapely, smaller waist, big upper body gains and no change on the scale.
I am less concerned about the scale now but am still at a deficit. It's not impossible to lose what you want to lose in a year but you may be unhappy with the results afterwards meaning "skinny fat". You can look at my before and after photo...161 doesn't look too bad.3 -

Funny you should mention weighing everything. I was thinking the same thing as I am having a hard time sometimes logging accurately. Thanks for sharing.

Hiii! Been maintaining for a year and a half, but yep!
5'2", started at just over 200lbs (getting close to morbidly obese at my height). Been at 103lbs now for a while.
I don't know what my actual high weight was, that was my hospital-logged weight after not being able to hold anything down for a week (including water, to the point I was vomiting blood). >___>; But yep, about a year.
Didn't exercise much (now I do a lil bit, wanted to regain some muscle mass).3 -
Yes. I lost 105 lbs during 2017, starting at 317 lbs & now down to 200 lbs with about 45 more lbs to go to reach my goal weight.1

8 month in and lost 66 lb. (slacked off for 2 months in between). So yeah, it is possible2

Its possible. I went from 320 to 214 in around 8 months. But I went from eating whatever, whenever, and not being active (aside from work, which had me standing/walking/squatting all day) to carefully tracking what I ate and taking up hiking up a Multnomah Falls. Also gave up dairy, bread, and most carbs for a while. The change was so drastic that I was literally losing 10 lbs a week when I first started.
Currently, though, I do have dairy (mostly greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and cheese) but I still avoid bread and refined sugar.2 -
It really depends on how you approach it, but yes it is possible. I have lost a little over 58 pounds in 6 months. My doctor put me on LCHF. Not saying this is what you should do, just how I have lost weight. I have weighed and logged everything I eat and drink and once I recovered from an Achilles heel injury have been walking 3-4 times a week. I have about 14 pounds until my goal weight but am hopeful to be there before my birthday in September.1

I’m a newbie here tracking everything and it’s definitely making me more self conscious about my food choices however it’s so difficult for me to remain within my caloric limit of 1750! I love food too much I go to the gym 6 days a week doing both cardio and strength training and I sweat a lot so I definitely give it my all...I also sweat in the sauna for a good 30-40 mins as well. My biggest challenge isn’t working out but it’s eating and curbing cravings >.< so far I’ve managed to lose a pound during my first week of working out and tracking my food so some progress I guess?

You'll learn through trial and error what keeps you full or curbs cravings. For me, it wasn't until I upped my protein significantly that I felt super full and didn't feel hungry much. But I still feel hungry sometimes. Also, sweat doesn't exactly equal fat loss. It's being in a calorie deficit that does the trick.2 -

You can love food but your love of wanting to get rid of excess on your body must be greater!
Just keep the foods you love that will fit within your calorie accounts.
Now I just want to know why you do a sauna for 30 to 40 minutes? You do know you can't sweat away fat. Just curious....not judging2 -
hey there!! your trainer is correct it can be done ... you just have to stop wondering if you really could have the body you want and act like you already have it .... drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day.. pee offten .. stretch.. rest and sleep.. take the stairs ... squat...

I love the sauna and I guess I’m trying to get rid of all the water weight? I won’t lie but it’s hard for me to stay within my daily sodium limits >.< I’m lowering it drastically from before I started tracking but tracking is definitely making me more aware of how much salt I eat on a daily basis... therefore I think I’m retaining water more and the sauna would help me get rid of the extra water weight. Am I doing this wrong...? :O0 -
