Not a single one. I tried a couple weekends ago and sadly, couldn't do it. Maybe next year.

1 chin up. Zero pull ups.

I need to get some resistant bands for assisted pull ups.

    I'm currently 91KG (200lbs) and cutting.

I just tried and knocked out 13 with good form and full ROM. (I'd have probably got a few more with increasingly poor form)

Which is piss poor but that number will go up as I get back down to about 185lbs.

I noticed last summer when I cut back my pull ups and chins shot up as did my ability to do things like ring traverses and monkey bars.

Yeah, definitely one of the few "lifts" that gets exponentially easier the more your cut. :)

...it's also one of the lifts that 99% of the guys you see in the gym are cheating the rep or imitating a fish. I swear, it's also one of those that guys like to lie about a lot... almost more than how much they can bench.

I've had a goal of 20 dead hangs for a few months now. I've been strapping on more and more weight to my belt. I can do 5 with a 45 hanging next to my jewels - but the strange thing is it hasn't helped my BW single set total at all. I hit 15-18 and just run out of steam and breath and my form goes all to hell. It's become an obsession with me - more so now than that elusive for me 3 plate bench. I got long gorilla arms though - probably not helping me. ;)

Yeah I notice the same thing for myself. It doesn't matter how many sets of 10 I can pull off or how much weight I add. When I run straight thru with no rest, I get about 16 and start to lose it sometimes make it to 20. forearms start getting pumped and can't hang on.

    Pull ups: 25-30
    Chin ups: 15-20
Wide grip lat pull ups: 12-18

That's really interesting. I think you are the only person I've ever seen who finds pull ups harder than chin ups (based on your reps).

With the assistance you get from the biceps on a chin up most people find them easier.

Yeah I messed up! Flip the pull up and chin up numbers and then that’s right!(:

I've been doing them last few weeks (tendinitis) with my grips/straps with the same annoying results. lol

There was a thread over on O35 in the "evil forums" about this a while ago - seems to be a consensus that weighted PU's don't really help. It's a matter of endurance/stamina past a certain point. I never really do high rep anything so maybe that is my problem. ;)

I'm gonna hoot and hollar and make a scene at the gym as soon as I can knock out those 20 dead hangs. I already warned my wife.

    Body weight: 175lbs

Chin ups: 5. Form not perfect but getting there.

Weird that it cut my post off.

I'm the same at a bodyweight of 150 so you are better at chin ups than me!

I do pull-ups, current max is 9 reps at 190 lbs. BW and age 63.

I was a pull-up beast a decade ago and did 100+ reps workouts done in supersets with bar dips or push-ups.

Have a YouTube video doing a weighted chin-up with 88 lbs. strapped around my waist, and one with me doing 9 pull-ups with 45 lbs. strapped around my waist at a BW of about 176 lbs.

That was then and now is now.

I can do 1 chin-up with just body weight (121 lbs).
Five if using 10 or 5 lbs assistance (machine).

Once I banged out, I can't remember if it was 24 or 26...

Yesterday I did 16 at about 180lbs, but that's after various other lifts and in the morning after working night shift...

I could probably get pretty close to 24 or 26, if I was fresh and slept well, with a good pre-workout..

None. Following a shoulder injury and a year of physio even a 40sec straight-arm hang is a challenge.
