I gain 2-3lbs whenever I eat.

So from my previous post I decided to change my diet and start exercising more. I’ve started eating more protein and healthier meals but weigh my self every morning to see if it’s been working but I’ve been gaining 2-3lbs everyday for almost a week! It doesn’t drop either everyday another 2 or 3lbs will be added on! I’ve gained over 14lbs just in a few days and my stomach just continues to grow! It’s really depressing to by trying to better my self and lose weight but instead I’m getting bigger. I have no idea what to do about it any advice.

You have to eat less calories than you burn to lose weight.
It really makes no difference what you eat it is the number of calories vs the amount you burn.
Are you weighing, measuring and logging correctly everything you eat and drink? If so, you should see your doctor regarding this weight gain.4 -
Are you pregnant?17

Weigh yourself once a week on exactly the same day and roughly the same time (i.e morning).
The body is not an exact science and you increase and decrease as you eat, drink and...
Once a week is a much better indicator of how you're getting on and thats never perfect.
I would wait 3 weeks and if nothing is lost then alter the diet/exercise regime.

She said she has gained 14 pounds over a few days. If this truly happened she needs to see a doctor. It is not possible to gain that much in a few days. Is it even possible to gain that much in a few days without a medical issue?16 -
Did you ever go to the Gyn/Ob as suggested in your previous thread to rule out problems from that side?9
-
You say you've gained 14 pounds in 3 days?
I would see a doctor.11 -

Oh yeah.
I did not read it properly!
Agreed that's not right.
I think a doctor is the right suggestion.
Has to be something medical. Pregnant?
Do you put on weight that quickly when pregnant?
Or maybe scales are broken!

Go to the doctor. Something's wrong.0

Broken scale seems to be a good possibility.6

Your last thread was about you having a hard stomach and/or excess belly fat that you cannot get rid of. Now you are gaining a lot of weight over night each day since that thread, this should tell you that you need to discuss this with you doctor. Make an appointment today.11

Even pregnancy seems unlikely, that is a lot of weigh in a few days.4

14lbs in a few days no....more like 20-30lbs over 40 weeks.7 -
14 lbs in 3 or 5 or 7 days is a medical problem that should be sorted ASAP.
If you haven't been regular, it might even be ER or Urgent care worthy.7 -
Have you been constipated? (I agree with seeing a dr, but if it's constipation, you may be able to get that... moving.. at home without dr intervention)4
-
I gained 7lb in 1day from eating a load of junk and samples at the food fair most of it was gone in a few days though8
-
I'd see a doctor asap.
This is not a diet or exercise issue.4 -
I don't know how big you are, but I retain SO MUCH WATER before my period (and the first couple days) that I look 6 months pregnant. I'm not sure how many pounds it is, but it's probably a pretty big amount (I'm 155ish lbs right now). Is your period due soon?
Either way, going to see a doctor is probably a good idea, at least if your clothes are getting tighter as well. If you can't see a difference, it might just be your scale.7 -
The last time I gained 14lbs that quickly was when I picked up my Maine Coon cat.

if your stomach is hard and this is a couple of days....see the dr now8

You may be constipated. Did you eat too much insoluble fiber, eating not enough fiber, eating too much fat, too much dairy or too much protein. These can slow digestion down.
How is your sodium intake? If high it could be fluid retention? Dehydration also could be involved if you are not drinking enough fluids.
You may need to see a Dr if you have not had a bowel movement in a number of days. Sooner rather than later since you say your belly feels hard.

That's not normal OP. Definitely visit a doctor. This is beyond an internet forum's expertise by a mile.5
-
When's the last time you pooped? Seriously, it's impossible for you to have gained 14 lbs of fat in 3-4 days, either you're super constipated and bloated or you need a Dr ASAP.
ETA: I had a friend who is very much a hypochondriac, so when her abdomen became very distended and painful doctors kind of brushed it off as her overreacting/overeating. After a few months they finally did an ultrasound and she had an ovarian cyst that had grown to be the size of a soccer ball. It would have been much less traumatic had they caught it when it was smaller, I'd recommend getting checked out.6 -
Get checked out, even when I had a bad eating week (lots of fast/junk food) I never gained like that...maybe a couple of lbs during that week at the most.0
-
A couple of things could be happening; when you first start exercise you hold on to more water to help your muscles repair. So if you are achy/sore still, chances are you are retaining water. The other factor at play is how your diet (noun) has changed. When I changed my diet (noun) I ate more veg and upped my protein. Needless to say, my body wasn't used to this and there was a few weeks of adaptation to go through. Your stomach bacteria need to adjust and the side effects for me was bloating and the aptly named "protein farts of doom". (I swear when I started squatting I was jet propelled back up more often than not).
So if you have literally just started exercise and food changes, give yourself a bit of time for your poor body to adapt to what you are making it do...which is changing the habits of a lifetime.1 -
You're not gaining 2-3 pounds of fat every day unless you're dramatically overeating. It could be constipation, or other (potentially serious) medical issues. You need to get checked out by a doctor.4
-
14lbs in 4 days would be 12,250 calorie surplus per day, something isn't right if this is true. I would try the following:
1. Try a different scale.
2. If #1 reads the same, see a doctor.0 -

I disagree with this. A moving average over 7 days is far more accurate than weighing once a week. What if I have a super high sodium meal Sunday night after a week then wake up 5lbs heavier from water retention, then I drop my calories far more than they need to be....etc. moving avg of weight loss is way better15 -
Three people, including myself, told you in your last thread to see a doctor. More people in this thread are telling you to see a doctor. Why haven't you seen a doctor yet?7
-
I've been at this a very long time and am no spring chicken. I've yet to see anyone gain 3 lbs of fat per day. Nor have I known of anyone gaining 14 lbs over a few days because they just started a new gym routine or diet change.
I would suggest going to a doctor .7
