Wait, so apples and strawberries are leaving my body eventually but other fruits like, say, apricots or raspberries, won't?6

I want to know more about the fat leaving my body via my breathing. If I can breathe myself thin I can sell my dumbbells and stop stressing about my trick ankle!2
-
I was with you for the first two sentences.

One does not, and physiologically cannot, pass fat in urine. All caps does not constitute proof.
The rest of your word salad is giving me ideas for a weekend meal within my calorie budget, and it will be part of a successful weight loss journey.

Fat is actually converted to carbon dioxide and breathed out. The carbon dioxide that you breath out comes from the food you eat (all food, not this...interesting list). When you eat less, you are putting less carbon atoms in your body so you lose weight as body fat is converted to carbon dioxide and breathed out...essentially, you're breathing out more carbon than you're taking in.
This list is kinda weird though...and it's not just breathing in and out with exercise. Anytime you breath out you are expelling carbon dioxide.
ETA: personally, I think it's easier to speak of this in terms of energy, even though that's not what's really happening...but I think it makes more sense to most people.8 -
I'm on a liquid diet for medical reasons as it is EASIER to digest meaning my body absorbs MORE calories from it as compared to eating the non liquid version of it.4

There's a really good video series about how fat loss works here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4emMWJwFX9k&list=PL4yX5OazQ_WSDSViJv6Vaxl3bRTpztmeH in case anyone is interested in the actual science5

Oh, I see the OP was edited to make all of the commenters up until now look stupid while I was typing. One of my least favorite trolling tactics.22

What were the name of those bots that were running through MFP a while ago?1

when oxygen reaches the fat molecules stored in the body; it breaks them down into carbon dioxide and water. The carbon dioxide is then picked up in the blood, which transports it to the lungs for exhalation.
Oxygen Rich Foods
Lemons.
Avocadoes, Berries, Carrots, Currants, Ripe Bananas, Celery, Garlic, Dates.
Alfalfa Sprouts, Apricots and Sweet Apples.
Sweet Grapes and Pears, Passion Fruit, Raisins, Pineapple, Vegetable Juices.
Fruit Juices, Chicory, Kiwis.
Asparagus, watercress and sea weed
CO2-Emissions (in g CO2e per kg food):
Food group Food CO2-Emissions (in g per kg food)
Meat and sausages Ham (pork) 4'800
Poeltry 3'500
Pork 3'250
Milk- and dairy products Butter 23'800
(the same process used by plants and algae), This process uses carbon dioxide, water and sunlight to produce oxygen and glucose (sugars) for energy.
Pure carbon cannot be transported in the body, so CO2 is one form it takes that is water soluble. When CO2 is breathed into the lungs, it dissolves in the water there, diffuses across the alveolar-capillary membrane, and enters the bloodstream. Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Energy, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Energy~
You're quoting, at least in part, a website that promotes their own "Hallelujah" diet. Here's what quackwatch had to say about it: https://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/malkmus.html This is not good science. It is not solid information. It is a bad source. It is not someone you should be listening to or passing information along for. This is why people think weight loss is so hard and good health is so impossible, because quacks like this are out to make a buck or two at the expense of people who don't know any better.
tl;dr version: Learn to vet your sources.10 -

I don't know, but everything in this post comes directly from the first result in google every time. I think it's time for a Turing test.6 -

Turing, I believe.1 -

I am just a old women with a limited experiences, I am Reading, and doing more reading, I post what I read on Your Generational Equipment. In my days we had a Paper, Pencil with a Text Book and Teacher. Today You have a device that Double Talks everything everyone writes or says. No one is ever right! No one has answers if they did they would not be here trying to lose weight we would all be fit and trim. We would all be healthy and fit. I am searching and trying to find ways to better my diet. When you have limited skills, no money, no transportation except two feet you have to rely on a 27" monitor with a Tower and hope one can find something to help them!
I am doing the best I can! I am not a Robot just a Old uneducated women from the 1960's.12 -
Some of us have found the answer. (And we're not all here to lose weight. We might be here for other reasons, like tracking our fitness.)
The answer is eat fewer calories in a day than your body needs, and you will lose weight.
Make your diet mostly healthy foods, and some treats, and find what foods satiate you.
There are no magic CO2 foods. There are no magic pills. There are no magic drinks. There are no magic [insert whatever diet thing you've ever heard].
It's not complex.11 -

A lot of the people on these forums aren’t ‘trying to lose weight’. They have succeeded, and are hanging around here to pass on what they have learned to others. (I don’t consider myself one of their number yet, but after losing 220 lb I reckon I’ve learned a thing or two about how weight loss works)
Others may not have lost weight, but they sure as heck understand how biology works. Do you really think that because someone eats too many calories, they can’t understand biology?
And anyway, if you’re just an old uneducated woman with limited experience who is looking for something to help them, why are you making bold statements about human biology rather than, say, asking for advice?11 -
I have never heard of the Hallelujah diet before!
I am going back in time looking at the Oldest Cookbooks for the last year to see what they have eaten! I am trying to make my diet Fun and at the same time learn something on the way! I only post what I have learned.
Yes I use Googles to find my information, I have no other means avalibule to me. A computer just like everyone else. To search it and I do a lot of PDF that is all I personaly know how to do! I never even had a comptuer until I was in my 40's and I'm only 57yrs old so that is not very long. 17 yrs? with no schooling or training. It is a device to read, type and play games, watch tv and have social contact. That is all I know, I found this place to help me lose weight but I am not fitting in that is for sure! Nothing I say or do is right to anyone~ I am very sorry I just don't get all this. I am doing the best I can. I really am sorry!8 -

Have you gone back and watched the video series I posted yet? Have you used any of the resources that have been made available to you yet? The internet is great for learning, but there are is also a lot of nonsense and a lot of people looking to scam dieters into believing false information out there. Have you even so much as read through the stickied posts that I believe you've been directed to before?
Learning to vet your sources on the internet is half art and half science, but it's a desperately important skill to learn if you want to use the internet as a resource for learning. There is information available to you if you want to know more about weight loss, but you have been bouncing from one bad source to the next since you got here. It might be time to step back and be sure you have a good grounding in how this stuff works before you start posting information here. It's hard enough to sort through the good and the bad without being bombarded by the bad over and over and over again on these forums.7 -

The OP has posted elsewhere here that they have Alzheimer's. So while I'm not saying that's an excuse, it's a perspective as to why some of the posts are ... so, so, so off base. And also why I primarily have her on ignore, so that I'm not tempted to directly engage.9 -
Thank you! for the first time in years, I am losing weight after cancer, and I am dropping pounds (weight). I am trying to have fun doing it and I am researching all over the world for answers on the internet. yes a lot of my information will be wrong I am sure but I know one thing, I am down 70lbs so that counts for something. I feel better then I have in 20yrs or more. I have learned to control my eating by counting numbers, I have learned to eat 3 to 4times less then my daily exercise in a day. Because I have learned this I am losing weight.
When I was eating fast food with my daugthers family, and exercising I never lost but kept gaining. So I had to stop it all together I have not had fast food in ONE YEAR!
I tried so many diets but nothin worked, Until I went back in time to see what everyone ate. That is when I created a diet for my body and my exercise abiltys. Eat less Exercise 3 to 4times more in a day! to burn those calories.
Since I don't have the education or grammer I do go to google and Website areas I have read and I take those words and try to explain what I am doing. that is all I am doing. I graduated school in 1980 with out computers, we never even had them. We had Excicopeadias.
Matter of fact one of our classes in H.S. was to COPY word from word on a piece of paper for 45mint. No Joking.
that was all we did was copy out of the book. So that is what I learned.
I will read these sites. Thank you and I will try to stay off these sites so I don't cause any more Frustration!5 -

Well, 84% of the fat you burn leaves your body as CO2 in your breath. The other 16% leaves as water. That is the basic products of the chemical reactions taking place when you burn calories.
To have fat leave your body, you have to eat fewer calories than you burn. But I can guarantee that if you do, 84% of the mass leaves in your exhaled breath.
Science!

You don't have to apologize and you don't have to make things too hard on yourself.
@quiksylver296 just have you the true magic formula.
Near the very beginning of this section and of the getting started section there are two closed posts that have links to the "sticky" threads.
These past threads contain a LOT of information.
Not all of it perfect or perfectly correct and it is still subject to some interpretation, but the threads contain a heck of a lot, and more correct, information than many other places.
Your post could have been phrased: I found this information on site xyz. It sounds interesting. What do you guys think?
It would still get a million woos; but it would also get you closer to receiving the answers you need.
Consistently taking in less calories than you spend will lead to weight loss.
As simple as that.
But not trivial to actually implement.
And not always the ONLY goal.
Though when I first started up as a morbidly obese individual it was a most excellent and sufficient first goal.6 -
I learned something today, so that makes it a good day.tbright1965 wrote: »nickssweetheart wrote: »I want to know more about the fat leaving my body via my breathing. If I can breathe myself thin I can sell my dumbbells and stop stressing about my trick ankle!

Thank you! I've been struggling with my weight for 20 years and never knew this. I thought I'd investigated everything imaginable about weight loss. That will teach me to be clever about something I know nothing about.
Thank you OP.1 -

Stop just believing the first thing you find on Google. A lot of what you find on the internet is written by people who are a) trying to sell something or b) no more educated than you. Worse, Google actually records the results you click on and uses that to decide what to show you in later searches. So the more rubbish you read, the more rubbish you will continue to read.
And if you know a lot of your information is wrong, don’t give it to other people as advice! That is plain irresponsible, and was plain irresponsible even in the olden days before computers.I feel better then I have in 20yrs or more. I have learned to control my eating by counting numbers, I have learned to eat 3 to 4times less then my daily exercise in a day. Because I have learned this I am losing weight.
Yes. You are losing weight because you are eating fewer calories than you expend. That is the key, and that is the only key.6 -

Tread cautiously and believe none of what you read on the internet without sourcing it first. Bear in mind there are vested interest in providing misinformation/disinformation and will produce clickbait dramatic headlines as a means of generating ad revenue.3
