How many clothes do you have that fit while losing weight?

I had a plan. 2-3 outfits that actually fit per size. But since taking my measurements, I realize that I am fairly curvy which makes it hard to find cheap clothes that really fit. ... But wow, I feel so much better in clothes that are made for my shape. It's so nice to go through the day without constantly readjusting :-)

Now I am getting 1-2 pairs of jeans per size and trying to go as long as possible without replacing my other clothes.

I haven't had much luck with buying used clothes online. But I'm about to list my way too big stuff on eBay. Looking forward to replacing a portion of my wardrobe this summer when I take my daughter back to school shopping :-) I haven't looked this forward to clothes shopping in years!

I tend to wear tighter t-shirts anyway, so they cover my losses (if there are any)

That horrible dilemma, do I buy clothes that fit now, or will fit next month???? My solution mid weight loss: wrap dresses that fit slightly (I mean slightly!) small. That way you can adjust them as you shrink. Also, most jeans nowadays are made stretchy, just get the smallest ones you can decently fit into, that way they'll last longer as something that actually fits. Used clothing is also a good idea, saves money as you'll end up having to buy stuff as you shrink, this way you'll just spend less.

Oh girl I feel you. I always have to buy a size up so it fits in the bust and then get the bottom taken in. I have widish hips so jeans with spandex in them, tights and dresses are my friends. For shirts you can always be but something made to fit a little lose. I’m short so I drop a size about every 20lbs. This has worked so far. I have one more size to drop.

Can we trade stuff that is sold in sets?!?! I have the opposite problem. Big butt, little chest. I can fit a small top in Juniors, but need a Medium or Large (depending on cut) on my bottom half. It's so annoying that more clothing isn't sold as separates.

I will look into wrap dresses when we go shopping! (A couple of months away but I am already excited!) I haven't worn a dress in years, outside of Halloween. ... Stretchy jeans definitely help! I decided to skip a size with my most recent purchase. I think my shirts will be long enough to hide that they fit tight. And The stretch will keep me from feeling like I am being cut in half when I sit down.

Make sure to check out thrift stores. It can be a pain digging through the randomness but it can be a cheap way to expand your wardrobe.

I agree completely with this. I think it's important to visit many thrift stores & frequently. I have known people who live in areas with just 1-2 options for thrifting and it's dismal...I understand why they can't find good things on their once-every-other-month visits. When I am really seeking specific things (and when I was losing sizes due to weight loss) I would set aside a couple hours every weekend to scour 4-6 stores and really look for specific brands, fit types, cuts, etc. I always came home with a treasure trove of finds. But it definitely takes patience and effort to do that, too.

Another good source for me, when in plus as well as misses sizes, was off-price discount stores like Ross, TJ Maxx, etc. It's not top quality and some items are still $29 and up...but when you hit up their clearance, you can often find decent basics and jeans in a wide variety of fit types/cuts. I have a smallish high waist with very wide hips and have found some of my all-time favorite jeans (in sizes 10-26) at stores like that, even when at maintenance and shopping higher end stores...I still go check 'em out for that specific reason.

Sundresses have been easy to use even season to season...in cooler months throw a cardigan tights and boots with it. And they last awhile as sizes change.

That is a good idea. But there really isn't much good selection around here. I do pop in occasionally in hopes of getting lucky.

Just got back from the goodwill and picked up a cute Levi shirt/jacket. I have to do this cause my closet is dwindling with things that fit. But I do have items that are still smaller. I have my own thrift store in my own closet!

Count me in the group with one dismal thrifting option. Ross is on the list of stores I look forward to this summer. My daughter got some BEAUTIFUL dresses there a couple of years ago ... They just had minor defects like a stain on the belt that could easily be covered with a brooch.

I mostly wear pants with a stretchy waist. My hips and legs are not going to change size much so I buy pants that fit my hips. I don't wear jeans much.
I have some shirts that fit really well and some looser shirts.
I have found nice clothes at thrift stores.

I'm sorry you have dismal thrifting options! I never used to understand when people said that, but me and my husband always check out the local stores when traveling and it's crazy to me how much it varies! We live in a pretty small city in the Midwest but it's kind of a thrift haven. Meanwhile, I was recently in a few similarly-sized towns in Colorado and everything in the dozens of thrift shops I visited was in terrible condition or crazily overpriced. I bought like 2 items in a weeklong trip! In small towns in Michigan & Oklahoma we have found amazing finds. You just never know!
