Fairly short ride planned into my local (Surrey, England) countryside. I'm going to have an attempt at moving up the rankings on a particular Strava segment for fun (currently =7th and 3 seconds off a KOM).
Even if I don't manage to improve I'm on a promise of a bacon sandwich at the halfway point so it's going to be a good ride anyway.1 -

The highs and lows of cycling for me this week.....
Monday I had one of those random days when I felt great and speed (relative speed!) came easily - no idea why as I rode Sunday so didn't have completely fresh legs.
Hit PR's on a couple of hills I love to hate thanks to being able to keep a higher than usual cadence on the really steep bits so my legs didn't get burned out before the top so made up time on the less steep bits as well.
Getting within a few seconds of a very long term goal for this one....
This is a challenge - you start with zero speed from a tight blind corner and straight into a nasty gradient.
And the low point was getting back to my train station on Wednesday and finding some low life scum has stolen the front wheel out of my bike. It was my crappy old hybrid but A/ it's MY crappy old hybrid and B/ did my first Century on the old "Boneshaker". Grrrrrr!
