Question for you, Nora! Maybe it will clear things up. Do you think that you should punish yourself for "letting yourself go"?

Well I’m here. I am logging food. And I need to get more familiar with it. I do see myself transitioning to something sustainable. I want to succeed. And I do enjoy the tatoes for now. Like I said they are very filling. Eating a salad always left me empty. Reading labels was a chore. I just need to figure out the right combinations of food.

You won't get familiar with logging a mixed range of foods until you start doing that regularly.

When you eat a normal diet you'd be surprised how often you eat similar foods - I rarely add new foods to my log these days, instead, I use the ones accumulated in my history. It makes logging easy - all you need to do is weigh or measure.

If you don't like salad, don't eat salad (there are a million different ways to prepare salad though, many incorporating more substantial, filling ingredients). There is no harm with continuing to enjoy potatoes either, but combining them with a protein source and perhaps some other vegies and some fat would be a great idea.
