  • Turtle meat. It tasted like steak but had the texture, tenderness of white meat chicken. Surprisingly good.

Chicken heart tastes amazing! Especially in soups. Been a fan of it since I was very little :D

Yes! I love chicken hearts, such a nice texture. I also really like duck brains - I have always wanted to make chicken heart & duck brain pâté!

Balut. There's a guy who sells them at the park right next to us. Pretty good. Tastes like the yellow part of a soft boiled egg (makes sense). A little strange and I probably won't do it again, but at least I can say I did try it!

    You live in Asia?
Cause i have not heard of it anywhere else, maybe something similair to Balut, but not with the dead chicken embryo still in it.
But i eat eggs a lot, even raw unboiled sometimes, but this just tasted so bad (but could be the thought of the embryo that crawl into my head at the time being)

    Omg wow. That sounds horrible.

The inside of my face. It tasted of blood, and was surprisingly painful. Would not recommend.

i glanced at this and at first thought it said "probably a centaur egg" and i was about to get super excited and PM you for details. lol. nevermind the fact i always imagined centaurs as mammals. meh, details.

I've tried most of the snacks from the brand 'Edible', the nicest were...

    3.jpg

Toasted ants and mealworms... They taste like popcorn!

    10.jpg

Worm Crisps... These taste like crispy rice cakes.

ETA: Oh yes! I've had snails and frog legs too. Snails are more of a texture, and the frog legs really do taste like chicken.

What's wrong with ostrich? It's a bit bland given how dark it is, seems to have the heavy texture of venison but fails to deliver, but doesn't strike me as being particularly dislikeable. And it's fairly common, at least here in the UK, it's a regular staple of farmers' markets and the like.

Its texture is something i cant handle. and maybe mine was way overcooked. because it tasted gamey and i could barely chew it!

I've had Cat, Dog, Gator, Monkey, Rattlesnake, Habu and more.

If it's on the menu and I have never had it, that's what I am going to order.

My mom and I lived together when she moved back into town. The house was only 3 blocks from our favorite pub and we came home late one night/morning and were pretty intoxicated. She said she would make some food and whipped together turkey spaghetti and put canned beans in it. It was disgusting but I was drunk so I ate it.

Was not good coming back up.

grilled beef heart that one of my Peruvian friends made. Anicucho. I'm sure I spelled it wrong, but it tasted great.
Fried chicken gizzards are a favorite.
Ate at another friend's restaurant and he served a CO2 infused raw oyster with avocado puree. Pretty good, but he never put fizzy oysters on the menu.

"Taco de seso" from a food truck in California. I figured it was popular with Mexicans in the area, and 20 million Mexicans can't be wrong. I'm sorry, but 20 million Mexicans are just plain wrong. It was horrendous.

Try this: dried fallopian tubes of true frogs, better known as hasma.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasma

Asian's top the list of weirdest things to eat. I never ate it again after I found out what it was. Too much ick. xD
This one is the thread winner if you ask me.

My ickiest is oyster; I can't handle the fact that they are supposed to be alive.
