I was successful back in the fall of 2016 and spring 2017; then put most of my weight back on. I told myself that 2019 was it! I'm going to figure out how to live the right lifestyle FOR ME! To be able to lose it and keep it off. Jan. I maintained, Feb. I lost 2#, March I started to gain again. That's when I said I need to get back on MFP and log and get back to being accountable!
Here it is. My weigh-in days are on Sundays. I expect a loss tomorrow, a nice one based on this mornings weight.- Mar. 24, 2019 =265.4
- Mar. 31, 2019 =263.6

Increased exercise this week! Still had a binge night, journalling and trying to figure out triggers and strategies. I am in several challenges that are keeping my focus long-term; not just this week or this month!

As I posted this the other day I noticed that you had your average weight for the month. I haven't been weighing myself daily since the beginning of the year but did most of May. So I want to see that number too. I truly think mentally that will help me to see the overall goal of maintaining and start getting my mindset. I've got a long way to my goal, but for sure want to be ready mentally. This is the first time I have done anything like this while losing, preparing myself for the victory! As the journey for sure isn't over when that prize is won. It's the beginning of a new lifestyle, forever healthy.

I was able to complete a few days, but then the knees had to rest. And I had a late night which messed with my schedule. So hoping that I can get in a good workout today and get the week off to a good start!

6/16- Well, had many night binges & parties this week, but with exercise was able to maintain from Sunday to Sunday. So this shows me that I can sustain my weight w/exercise. I don’t like seeing those high jumps in weight during the week, but at least it was only 3.6# versus 5+. I’m learning as I go. And truly focusing on this being a lifestyle change… for good! Not just for a year.

6/23- I had a loss this week and worked hard on increasing exercise. Using household chores...like helping hubby haul branches/ limbs across the yard as exercise. 60 minutes of hauling heavy piles... it WAS a workout. And then I challenged myself to work 2.0 miles on a cool morning before work. I did it! The scale showed my progress. Yeah!! Looking forward to seeing the average for June.1 -

@johicks You are doing Great!!!
You are 20 lbs down! Go stand on your scale & pick up 20lbs if things. It’s A LOT❣️
I had been telling myself I wasn’t doing anything...then picked up a backpack that felt heavy, stepped in Scale, 15 lbs. Exactly what I weighed a year ago. 15lbs, 20 lbs lost. Huge health benefits!!
You’ve got this. #NeverGiveUp❣️0 -

#NeverGiveUp❣️
Thank you so much!! You're right! All is not lost. 20lbs IS A LOT!! Thanks for the encouragement.

First two weeks of July I gained 5.8 lbs after a pretty good couple of months. But glad to say that 5.8 + .2 lbs are off!! And I had an aha moment this week. Friday July 12th / Saturday July 13th
So I was laying in bed binging last night. Binge-watching that is! And a couple of times food came across my mind. And my thoughts were: “If you are thinking about eating, it’s time for bed. So either stop thinking or turn off the TV and go to sleep.” Then without grabbing my phone to look at the MFP app, “How many calories do I have left? I could probably have some popcorn. Wait. Stop. If you walk back into the kitchen then you are going to regret it. You have had a great week of no night binging. So just stay put.” Then after that “Why and how is it easier to lay here and talk myself out of it this week?”
Then the one that struck me the most, “Wow. This feels great to not let food control me. I can lay here and be content. I truly believe that I can make this my new lifestyle. I ate well today, I’m content, I’m happy, and I don’t need food to make me feel that way.”
Whoa!! Right!?? Man is that a great journal memory moment or what!? Now if I could only bottle that and take a pill every night. Oh, wait. I can sorta. I will add start night affirmations and that will be in it!! Thanks for letting me share and talking that out. I’m glad I remembered it all.

@johicks Wow!! This is great!!
Isn’t it amazing as we feel those inner workings shift?! Congratulations!!
Affirmations are powerful!
A few of mine:
Being healthy & thin is worth fighting for.
It’s just food, nutrients...not Love, Companionship, Entertainment...Health First!!

7/21/19 - Checking in.... Glad to be part of this to have the eye on the overall prize, not just the scale.
I had another loss this week... 2.6#. It was weird how my weight fluctuated up/down; then boom a loss!
I’ve been on quite the roll of eating well, tracking, no late-night binges, not eating after the dinner hour, and exercising daily. I’m learning what is working best for me and doing it!! I know I could tweak the exercise a little more, but at the same time, I don’t want to injure myself. As long as I’m making progress I’m happy. I still have some lofty goals, but I’m focused on the daily habits to make those goals achievable.
