I think what I would consider bulky is a body bigger than Neghar Fonooni's ( https://dopepodcasts.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/16684020_1397967696921975_2533106567335238588_n.png ) -> this is fine. Anything bigger than that i would consider too much for me. I am short so any changes in my body tend to be to noticeable that's why I was asking about it ! ^^

Have you got a better picture?

You'll be fine...that body didn't happen overnight or over a couple of weeks or months...that's years of training right there with a very specific protocol to put on mass.

    1) it is EXTREMELY difficult for a woman to truly look bulky from weight lifting. For most women it is near impossible to have the musculature of a man who moderately lifts, we simply do not have the testosterone to achieve that kind of musculature.
    2) the women who are exceptionally muscular, have been lifting for years, many for decades of pushing themselves to lift heavier and heavier. Also, many of these women have also used illegal and/or highly questionable substances to achieve thier looks, not all, but a lot.

So! Since the last time I've posted, I've started the SL5x5 and today is gonna be the last weightlifting day of the week. But this week has got me thinking..

My goal is a leaner, stronger body. Not a bulky, huge body. Should this affect the way I'm lifting/training? Or does this have more to do with what I'm eating ?

    FYI...

    I'm 154 cm (a bit over 5'0)
    49.3 kg (108.7 lbs)
I aim to add more protein in my diet through foods like chicken breast, tuna, eggs, etc
I cut out white bread and white rice out of my diet
I rarely ever eat out/drink anything other than fruit juices or water
Right now I aim to be in caloric deficit as my goal is a lower %BF

Anything I could/should be doing to help me achieve my fitness goals? Thank you guys so much in advance 💕

Goal: leaner, stronger body not a bulky, huge body
Let me tell you a secret, the people that have *bulky* bodies probably ate a crap ton and have been through multiple cut and bulk sessions in order to obtain that look. I promise, you don't just get bulky. Especially as a female. I've been powerlifting for 3+ years now and have been through two bulks, lift with the best of them, and am still not anywhere near bulky. My best advice? Lift heavy. Keep going. That's what gives you definition and confidence along with it.

We have similar stats! I'm 5' and 112 lbs. on a cut currently! When I started I was near 95 lbs. LOL

As for cutting out white bread, rice and adding in protein, that's a good first step. Nothing *bad* about white bread and rice but it makes it easier to meet your macros with a low calorie intake that I'm sure MFP gave you since you're petite. Try Mio as a substitute for juice! I love, love, love fruit juice but never am willing to give up the extra calories to fit it in my day, so I utilize Mio as a tool for drinking more water and decreasing liquid calories.

Honestly, if you want to look defined and are on a good lifting program, I would say eat at maintenance and continue lifting heavy and making strength gains. You'll go through recomp and burn fat anyway, while also building muscle.
