rest between sets and exercises

Hey guys and gals. I'm super new the strength training. Currently I'm doing 30 seconds between sets and 1 min between exercises. Is that bad? Also, I don't have a "program" I'm following per say, I'm just finding exercises off Pinterest to do for certain areas I want to work on. Any advice?

Follow a program with prescribed lifts and rest times. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10332083/which-lifting-program-is-the-best-for-you3

I don't follow a specific program. Nothing wrong with following a program I just basically set my own. I tend to rest between 30-90 seconds depending on whether I'm lifting heavy (6 reps or less) or light (12 reps or more). Heavy sets I rest 90, light I rest 30. No hard and fast rule BTW. I find the shorter rests keeps me moving faster and keep the volume higher. But the longer rest on heavy days is where the strength comes. My two cents.1

I take 60 seconds between sets and 90-120 seconds between exercises0

Depends on your goals and your program.....
If you are focused on strength then for your heavy lifts the traditional rest period is 2 - 4 minutes to allow your ATP to replenish.
Shorter rest periods are normal for a hypertrophy workout.
Shorter again for endurance or conditioning training with weights.3 -
When I’m resting between really heavy sets (95-100% 1RM) I usually rest a solid 3 minutes or more.1
