Intermittent fasting?

Any tips on how it works for you and maybe suggestions to get back into this lifestyle change?

works as in...??? IF is an eating schedule, not a diet. 2500 calories in an 8 hour window (or whatever your window is) is the same as 2500 cals in a 14 hr window. thermodynamics are not outruled3

I essentially eat two meals a day, it helps me with calorie intake.1

It's very popular/faddish right now and there's a lot of woo/BS out there about it. What it comes down to is that you eat within a certain time "window" every day, or you use a protocol like 5:2 (Google will turn up more information on that).
Intermittent fasting helps some people control their calorie intake by restricting the number of meals/eating window. Other than that, there are no advantages above any other eating schedule for weight loss and nothing magical about it. Calories are still what matter, no matter what time you eat them.5 -
It works making me not hungry even in a calorie deficit. That's about it.2

Also working out the next morning with an empty stomach forces body to use fat stores as fuel. We have to sort of starve ourselves to force out the fats from their hiding places.16

I would say it's pretty cool you can manipulate hunger/eating patterns through habitually eating only 1-2 times a day during the SAME time frame. Grehlin at work...
Nothing new here (established well with Ramadan). The benefits being touted are VERY much overhyped. IF is more about convenience/being adherent/consistent with eating patterns (less time cooking, less error in measuring, eating fewer foods/less variety psychologically results in fewer kcal intake, not feeling hungry during the day/work, etc.). Just a tool; I just happen to find IF handy & have eaten in a similar pattern (small windows of eating) for majority of my life5 -

I am currently on 5:2. I eat normally(1450 -1600) 5 days a week and 500-550 2 days a week. It is difficult, but not impossible. On fasting days I eat 3 meals (veggies and egg white or oats with half a banana or blueberries) and 2 teas(green tea or fruit tea - which is 0 calorie).0
