It is tough. I'm a beginner her etoo so maybe we can help motivate each other. Justtake one meal at a time and don't beat yourself up if you "fall off". Just get back on track the next meal.0

Hey feel free to add me. I struggle daily keeping my food under control but I love my food!
I have set my calories at a realisting level and yes some days I only do exercise so I can eat more. Sounds counter-productive but I love the food!!!

Snack on fruit. Buy a bag of apples and when you get peckish eat them. That's how I get over food cravings, especially cravings for sweet things. Grapes are also good for that. Or an entire box of frozen mango.... man I'm hungry now!
But seriously, snacking on fruit and veg, even if your snack ends up being enough for a meal, will help you feel in control and like you're not starving yourself. And it's good for you.
This is a good tip. I now bring a bag of grapes with me to work with 100g of grapes in it, purely for the drive home! I usually snack on sweets or chocolate in the car so now I replace with grapes. Its much lower calories and I don't go diving in to the biscuit jar when I get home from work hungry either.0 -
Start by just adding lots of water and some fiber to your diet. Look at reducing portion sizes on the foods you eat by weighing and measuring serving sizes.0

Figure your maintenance calories and just eat less than that. Even if it's only 50 calories less on some days. You only have 20 lbs to lose and if you're not in a hurry to lose them, you can eat quite a bit.
I found that having the discipline to log my calories was the first step toward eating less. If you know you're going to be logging it, you stop and consider your choice, at least for a second0
