    Comments: I'm psyched to join again this month. Last month's challenge was a great way to hold myself accountable to my journey.

    I'd really like to break into the 180s this month. (It would make me feel more secure that the "1" starting off my weight isn't going to reverse back into "2" again).

    My goal isn't 5lbs as per the title of the challenge. Trying to slow down the weight loss a bit so aiming for 4lbs (or really 3-4lbs) which gets me about 10 lbs from my revised goal (originally my goal was 135).

    - Got serious (Jan 16th 2018): 208lbs
    - Original Goal: 185 lbs by July 1st (made it)

    OK, I am back for another 5lb challenge! I have been very busy the last two months with work, hiking, backpacking, etc. All good as I shifted to "maintenance mode" for two months. I found that it was just not going to be possible to maintain a calorie deficit while hiking a lot and backpacking. From experience I know I need to eat upwards of 5,000 calories when hiking long distances and backpacking. I just cannot afford to run out of fuel/energy (bonk) when out in the woods or desert.
    However, I have maintained in the 182-185 range since early June. Success!

    But it is time to drop the last few pounds. You all keep me honest and inspire me. We can do this!

    August 2018
    Starting weight: 185
    Goal: 180

    Ultimate goal: 179 lbs (BMI <25)

    Non-Scale Goals:
    - BMI "normal"
    - Maintain A1C/Glucose in "normal" ranges (had been just above normal, aok now)
    - HDL up to 40+ (made it at last MD visit, want to stay there)

    My weigh-ins are every Friday. I gained weight last month but I'm going to say it's muscle mass from strength training. Either way, I'm back to do my best. I've got 8 months until my niece's 15th birthday and I'm hoping to reach my ultimate goal by then.
