For the last lunar cycle, I ate like calories didn't matter.
I'm just back from a Grand Canyon raft trip. We spend 23 days rowing 280 miles from Lee's Ferry to Pearce Ferry. It took three days to drive there, a day to rig the boats, and two days to drive back. On the way down, we ate in restaurants. On the river, we ate so much tasty food, and lots of it. Quesadilla. Dutch oven lasagna. Steaks. Salmon. Pesto pasta. Jambolaya. Grilled cheese. Cookies for lunch almost every day as well as "potato" chips (pringles - they come in a crush-proof can and can survive without being too crushed). Dutch oven cakes. No-bake cheesecake. Smores. Chocolates. More cookies. More pasta. Big breakfasts. Lots of bread. So. Much. Food. We had the food packed by an outfitter because it's easier and also because then we don't have four or five day old ice and produce before we even launch. There was SO MUCH food, and I hate to throw food away, so I ate more than I normally would have. We were very active, so I only gained about eight pounds. Time to get back after it.2 -
