Cheat Meal

I’m sooooooo looking forward to cake! I am a sugar-holic! I eat a little sweets every day since I’m just starting to wean off copious amounts of sugar. What’s your cheat? Your temptation?

I like almost everything, so I'm always always tempted to eat something, but that doesn't mean I have to eat all the time, or that I do. I don't cheat, I eat anything I like in moderation. This has been a lot easier after I stopped referring to cravings as addiction and stopped demonizing foods, food groups and nutrients.14

I started my journey with a cheat day. I’m really good for 6 days then get a cheat day on day 7 if I was good for the week. After 4-5 weeks, I just did a cheat meal instead. I allowed myself to have whatever I wanted on the cheat day and realized it made me feel like crap the next few days so I have anything I want now for just a few hours instead of the whole day. Last cheat meal I had tacos, a margarita, and a big ice cream sundae. I never feel deprived and no longer have cravings!7

I had a cheat day Saturday because it was my 50th birthday. I went to 9Round & did a double & they were nice enough to give me 10 free birthday burpees! I had buffalo wings & a couple of tasty beverages for lunch, then for supper, my favorite meal is Misty's lobster mac & cheese & a free piece of chocolate cake (and a couple more tasty beverages). I was back at it today & I had a good time.
If you can't go out & have a good time occasionally, it's not really worth it IMO.5 -
I love cake too, along with other desserts, sweets, cookies, chocolate, icecream.... You name it!
I don't cheat though.8 -
I don't have any cheats or temptations. I gave myself permission to have anything I want, no food is off limits. I just prefer more nutritious foods now. It took a long time to wean myself off the sugar, so kudos to you for finding a strategy that's working for you. You might find that the less sugar you eat, the more foods taste *too* sweet. The sugary stuff I used to crave now tastes off, which makes it easier to make different choices.2

That's the beauty of counting calories. Nothing is off limits so you dont need a cheat day!7
