It's like a checking account with an overdraft line of credit. You put money (calories) in your account now and then - can be anytime. You take money (calories) out by spending them (on exercise or daily life activities in the case of calories). When you take the money out (or the calories), it really doesn't matter if you're taking out money you put in two weeks ago or yesterday.
Think of your stored body fat as your overdraft line of credit. If you spend all the current balance in your checking account (calories from the food eaten recently), you'll have to dip into your overdraft line of credit. You won't know it's happening at the time you spend the money (calories), but when you go look at your account balances (get on your bodyweight scale) you'll see that it has happened.
The big difference is that losing body fat is a good thing if you're overweight, and drawing on your overdraft line of credit almost never is a good thing.
It doesn't matter what your body is burning at any given moment. If you're in a calorie deficit - eating fewer calories than you burn - over time (day, week, whatever is practical), then you'll eventually burn calories from stored body fat, because sooner or later there's no place else your body can get the calories to burn. Since the calories don't have inventory numbers on them, or an inventory clerk to keep track of them, you don't know which calories are doing what, when. And there's no reason to care. Just care about whether you're in a calorie deficit overall, or not.
This is eggcellent advice. I appreciate the eggstra details.
Hopefully OP has what they need to get crackin now.
Yep ! We were all new once and remember how it was to scramble for correct info.

I Googled "the egg diet"; it's really a diet plan! Like "the cabbage diet", "the grapefruit diet", and other fad diets! Hopefully, OP will stick around here long enough to learn about CICO, eat a varied diet, and lose the weight she wants to, without risking her health. Good luck to her, and the rest of us!8

Every human body needs a balanced diet. That's why we're omnivores. I don't know if following some type of restrictive meal plan (if that's what you're doing) is going to teach you how to change your eating habits for long term weight loss, maintenance and overall health.
Your body will use any food for energy, whether it's eggs or something else. But a keto diet isn't recommended for people with certain health issues. Given the patchy information, it doesn't sound like you know what you're doing. I would suggest you consult a doctor or dietitian before embarking on an eating plan that you don't seem to know much about.5 -

I think the rest of us should defer to your deep knowledge of this unique body of yours that runs optimally on only eggs, oatmeal, and banana, neatly allocated to their own specified time slots. No doubt your body also has its own special way of process fat and deciding when to tap stored fat.
But if you really want input from other people, what do you think would happen to the fat you just ate if your body tapped stored fat instead? It would have to store the fat you just ate. It's a constant process of store and use, store and use. What matters is your energy balance over a more extended time (days, weeks, months), not your your energy balance across a two-hour period.14 -

Perhaps MFP should move the WOO buttonto next to the flag, instead of having it be between LIKE and HUG! Or re-name it something more negative!7

It all depends on the eggs with yolks. Are the yolks like, on top of the eggs?
The more pertinent question:
Are they round eggs?6 -
It doesn't matter what you're eating or at what time. If you eat fewer calories than you burn overall, then you will lose weight.
Edit for autocorrect fail.6 -

But woo is not just negative, it can be used as a positive affirmation as well.10 -

I don't think you do.

Woo debuted with two opposite meanings, but currently only has the one:

In our community Woo means that you think an idea or approach is too good to be true.9 -

This question is a scary example of how little most people understand about weight loss and how it works11 -
I am having serious deja vu from a thread about 6-12 months ago, someone obsessed with eggs and similar username - anyone else?1
