Depending on the occasion, I like them better than the regular tie. However, @leut_underpants would be the expert on the bow tie .vs the regular tie wearing occasion.1 -

I only wear regular ties now for job interviews or places where I shouldn't be the attention-getter like funerals. But I'm really an old soul. I could wear 3-piece suits, pocket watches, fedoras every day. It's actually how I'm most comfortable.
