What do you miss the most?

Technically, I'm not really missing anything, I still allow myself to eat anything I want to (if I really want it and can fit it into my calorie goal). Yet ... yet ... I'm really, really missing being able to eat the amounts of fruit I used to eat before. Nowadays it's much more veggies, and fruit being a desert, but DAMN! I could pack away a 2 kilos of fruit a day, easily. I love fruit. 5 large peaches? No problem! Give me all your cherries and blueberries! Strawberries! Raspberries (I can eat my bodyweight in those ...). I've never eaten a lot of sweets or salty snacks, but fruit was my "downfall". I know it's much better in general than chocolate, but in the end, sugar is sugar - and fruit in the amounts I used to eat can pack quite a lot of calories. But I really, really miss it, and I can't wait to go to maintenance and to be able to add a little more back into my diet.
So, what is it that you miss the most?

I can't think of anything, it's more that I could eat more of almost anytihng, but for the most part, I choose not to.5

I just miss eating whatever I felt like, whenever, and not caring about how many calories was in it.37

Yeah. Flamin' Hot Cheetos, an entire big bag, with a liter of Vanilla Coke, followed by a pint of Ben and Jerry's. I still have those things. But not nearly as often, or in as much quantity.7 -
I miss my oblivious attitude around food. I knew some things had more calories than others, but it just wasn't a thought that came to me often if ever while eating. Now I'm hyper aware. Even when I'm eating whatever I want in whatever quantity I want, I'm still thinking about calories. Even during holidays where I'm really not that concerned calories, I still tally up the calories. I really miss that relaxed innocence I used to have when I was a dieting virgin. Sometimes it gets to me that I will never be able to go back to how it was.21

I miss food being a mindless time filler, an easy reward, an easy comfort when bad things happen. Pretty much nothing to do with the food itself and more to do with it allowing me to not deal with emotions. Lol?10

Likewise. I don't eat anything without thinking about the calorie content. A friend of mine told me he ate three Panera cookies at a work lunch, my only response was "that's at least 1200 calories of cookies".11 -

That's about it for me. I don't miss any particular food/drink, because I never entirely gave up/cut out anything from my diet. I eat more of some things and less of others, but nothing is off limits. I did cut back substantially on the alcohol consumption, but honestly I don't miss that at all.4 -

This. Completely. Knowledge is power, but I do sometimes think that ignorance was bliss9 -
At times I miss vegging out and snacking on whatever I wanted and how much I wanted while watching TV. It was comforting to end a busy day that way.
I paid a price for that lifestyle though and don't miss that part at all.13 -
In a deficit now, sometimes I miss having all the foods in one day. My two ham and egg sandwiches for my morning snack, pasta for lunch, protein mug cakes with whipped cream and strawberries for snack, double portions of dinner and Ben and Jerry's for dessert...all which I used to have almost everyday when I was gaining. But I don't miss the pressure to hit my calories and how full I was all the time, so I'd definitely rather be here, still able to eat some of those things on certain days.3

Same, though I do miss just going out to eat with out thinking about calories. Oh well.2 -
Ben and Jerry’s, cool ranch Doritos, dominos chicken strips with wedges and garlic pizza with cookie desert...my god no wonder my SW was 300lbs.4

I still do that sometimes. It just has to be the (occasional/infrequent) exception rather than the rule.4 -
Chocolate. I used to eat ridiculous quantities of it.1

The booze was odd too. I used to home brew 3 times a month. Not that pansy light beer, you could cut my Ales with a knife and fork!7 -
I don’t miss any particular food, really, because I fit what I want into my daily calories.
I admit, there are times I miss just eating with abandon like I used to. I love to eat! But although I can get wistful about it on occasion, I’m not tempted—that’s the difference.3 -

This. But it is more because I have become such a light weight drinker, than cals.
(Will order my G&T's tall and fru-fru drinks half alcohol )
From my experience, I have found the longer I have been maintaining (not counting) the less I think of the calorie content.
I often mentally review my nutrition at the end of the day and will throw in a protein shake if I think I am short.
So to answer the initial question, there is nothing I miss but the above mentioned alcohol.
Cheers, h.2 -
real pizza, fried calamari, home made foccaccia, great red wine.
lots of red wine...4 -
I miss a heaping plate of chicken fried steak, cream gravy and mashed potatoes. I still have that occasionally in a reasonable amount - but do you realize how little a reasonable serving is, lol? At times I miss the oblivious gluttony.6

I miss eating as much of something as I want at one time.
Multiple donuts at one time.
Two or three pieces of chicken with two or three biscuits.
The whole package of Oreos at once.
The large order of fries as a side.
The large shake with the meal, not a small shake that I've carefully made room for.
The big bag of M&Ms, a handful at a time.
Most of those things -- heck, most of everything -- it's really the first few bites that provide the most pleasure. And most of the time, I'm content with a sensible portion.
But there is something tempting about the idea of eating as much as you want, without thinking about what's sensible.6 -
Hearty craft beers for sure. I can't handle the alcohol content now since I'm a lightweight (and a cheap date!), but *oh wow* they are delicious! 2 light beers is plenty for me now and I only do that about once a week.1

Make the first your preferred beer, go light on the 2nd. It is worth the cals to savour the flavour of the one.
(It works well for me )

I'm still doing this.
Could I lose 5 pounds? Sure.
Five pounds lighter..... Would I look a bit better when I take off my shirt?
I Guess. *shrug
Here's the thing, I have shirts.
They work pretty well.

I like your thinking! I'll put the plan on action sometime this weekend.2 -

Eating a giant bowl of buttery popcorn regularly.
Now I eat a measured portion of non-buttered popcorn less often. I'm never going to give up eating popcorn but have to pay more attention to the calories.5
