I am going to renew my commitment to pushups and planks ... they kinda dropped off in August. I am also going to be migrating from 100% mini-trampoline exergaming for my cardio / stepping to dusting off the elliptical and stationary bike in the basement.

I am thinking about trying to do 700 pushups a week. Obviously I'll need to do more sets than I have been (usually do five sets which gives me a total of 60 to 70) but that would mean I could end up doing nearly 3000 in September. That's if my arms don't fall off!

Realised 3000 pushups is way too unrealistic when I am needing to swim and do other strength work too. So cut it back to 2000 which is still about 1700 more than usual!

    1/9 2.2km swim.
2/9 64 pushups 40s wallsit plus core work.
3/9 117 full pushups. Will hurt tomorrow!

I've already started doing my 2 minutes of plank a day, yes I will add 100 squats a day and build up to a 100 push ups a day. Game on!

LOL It would be more surprising if you WEREN'T sore! Work through it as "(relatively ) active rest" and you'll be back to the higher number in no time.

Still no pushups or planks for me. Am continuing to get pain when doing those or any core work so think I have strained or torn an ab!

Zero for me this weekend. Have been swimming instead - have done 5.7km in the pool the last two days. Got an appt with the doctor on Friday to check it out if still no better.

good swimming totals - at least you are getting something in. Take care till you can get to the dr. Soft tissue injuries take several weeks to heal (if that's what it proves to be)

Ok, I need this to keep me doing them and tracking. Haven't been doing daily, but will now. I've got 110 now so doing daily hmm I'll set it at 500 for the month for now. I might look at doing the planks too - We'll see.

Still not getting them in every day, but I'm working on it. Decided against logging planks for now.

If you are doing "pretty good" in comparison to your personal best, you are doing VERY GOOD! (or I would be in total despair comparing my pushups to yours .... and I don't even TRY sit-ups at this point ... although I stationary-bike these days

I'm allowed to start knee pushups in a couple of days. Told me to lay off the full pushups for a while as he doesn't want the tear to turn into a hernia. And neither do I lol. The good news is I'm almost pain free while swimming which is my top priority.
