Hi! This time around in me weight loss journey I’m losing weight sloooooowly but surely. I currently work out 3 times a week and losing about 1 pound per week.
I’m just curious, how many do you lose a week? I know things slow down as we get older so I definitely feel it now 😬 Do inches matter more? I guess I just wanna lose more than 1lb a week...

I'm currently maintaining and have been for a year but the amount I lost a week was more about how heavy I was and how much I had to lose
The first 80lb came off at around 10lb/month, then it slowed to about 4-5lb/month for the next 50lb and finally to around 2lb/month for the final few pound. Took me around 20months to lose 140lb, but the inches are still coming off now at maintenance,
The slower you lose the weight (especially if you don't have a huge amount to lose), the more muscle you will retain and the better you'll look.6 -

Lost 23lbs at 1lb / week. Later lost a further 7lbs at 1lb / month (deliberately slowly).
The weight loss wasn't overly difficult and switch to maintenance was really easy.
"I know things slow down as we get older" - as a 58 YO I'm eating more and exercising more than I ever have. That's just one of many excuses that people hold on to when they aren't fully committed.
"Do inches matter more?" - Depends on your personal goals and situation.15 -
one pound a week is a good weight loss.
on average since July 2017 I have lost half a pound a week, some weeks more, some weeks less, some weeks it went up. I am now at my goal weight and working on body shape and maintenance.3 -
Weightloss rate is more about how much you weigh and how much less you eat, than age (almost not about age at all).
If you're overweight, your health will improve with weightloss, and when you lose weight, you also lose inches.
This is the Maintenance area - I agree you might have accidentally been lucky here5 -
1lb a week sounds good! depends on how much you have to lose.
Inch loss does matter more, your clothes will feel/look better and you will SEE progress1 -
1 pound per week for 25 pounds, .5 pounds per week for 6 pounds.
Weight loss should slow the closer you are to goal and healthy weight.

I lost 2 pounds a week at first for a brief bit, then intentionally cut it to 1.5 as I got lighter, then 1, then 0.5, then vanishingly tiny, until maintenance. I've been maintaining a healthy weight for 2+ years since.
Things slow down as you get older? Looking at your avi, and LOL-ing a little, frankly. I lost 50 pounds - with the sensibly decreasing rate as described above - in less than a year . . . at age 59-60.
Older. Heh.
A pound a week is good, and really the maximum if you have 25 pounds or thereabouts to lose. If much less, lose slower. And slower than the max is always OK, especially if that's more sustainable. You're doing fine. Slowly but surely is perfect.

I honestly just want to be healthy and also maintain many healthy habits.

You look young.
After a lifetime of being over weight, dieting and get to morbidly obese(376) I joined WW 2013 at age 65.
I lost -100 after two years and was determined to NOT GAIN any back. I lost -16 third year. Fourth year my goal was to lose a pound a week. I lost -37.
2017 Same Goal, to Lose -52, I Lost -43.
2018 I made GW and WW Lifetime at age 70! Lost -195 (376 to 181)
Slow but I have lost some every year from 2013 to 2018.
Just shows you CAN lose weight at any age but I would recommend that you do it when your young.19 -

I lost weight consistently since September of 2017. Some weeks it was 0.5 lb, others 1, and sometimes 2 depending on the week: my activity level, what I ate, time of the month, etc.
For me personally now in maintenance I’m not looking to lose more scale weight, just overall fat (recomp) while maintaining my weight. So for me, inches matter more bc of my personal goals!2 -
I had lost about 20 lbs several years ago (in 2012) roughly 1lb a week. I was very consistent with my food logging and determined. Then in 2015 I got pregnant with my second child and gained about 65 lbs. Don't judge me lol. After he was born I lost 25 lbs but very slowly. It took me about a year and a half to get to the weight I am now (comes out to an average of 1.4lbs a MONTH) I was not very consistent with my food logging. I would log my food for a while, quit, log again, quit, etc. But I have been maintaining this weight for a little over a year now.
1lb a week is a good rate of weight loss.3 -

Based on my trend:I know things slow down as we get older so I definitely feel it now 😬.
My slow rate has nothing to do with age. I am actually having trouble sticking to a calorie deficit for more than a few days (even a 250 calorie deficit is hard), but I contribute that to food choices and being at a healthy weight already.3 -
I lost 25 pounds averaging 1/2 pound per week. The scale only moved every three weeks though. That was the rate I was shooting for. I was 39 at the time and it was pretty easy.

Although I don't feel like its much of an accomplishment. Once I'm down under 200, I'll feel better about it.
Once both of us maintain a 60+lb weight loss for 5+ years we will both have every right to feel an even greater sense of accomplishment.
Set yourself up for maintenance.
People who yo-yo diet are good at losing weight.
You're currently acquiring food restriction and dieting skills NOT maintenance skills.
You're soon going to pass from obese levels of fat to overweight levels of fat.
Your fat to lean mass loss ratio will change and it will change even more so because of the large restriction.
While a re-feed or diet break may become necessary for you as you reduce to below 200, I don't know how you will cope with it given that you're not giving yourself time to learn how to eat and how to move over the next 5+ years, but are just trying to move from obese to normal weight instanly and then magically maintain.
What happens the first time the scale doesn't reflect your hard work?

None of the above. Just working hard and eating right. Started at 270 mid July and now 217 as of Sunday.
IMO, that's not "eating right". That's risk-your-health-and-muscle-mass undereating. JMO, though - it's your body. It's just that I wouldn't want to contribute to 3rd party readers thinking this is anything like a good plan.10 -

If you are taking all the weight you have lost and dividing it by 8 to get your average that can be misleading because in the beginning you might have lost a large amount of water weight. What has your rate of loss been in the last 3 weeks?

1lb per week average for about 20-22lb then shifted to 0.25-0.5lb per week.
I took a break to maintain whenI hit 25lb but decided to try and cut 5-10 more. It’s slow going2 -
Coming up on my 1 year anniversary in a week or so, and I've lost 130 lbs so far (285 lbs - 155 lbs), so that comes to 2.5 lbs a week on average, but it's been not at all linear -- some weeks I lose five lbs, other weeks I gain three, and anything in between!1

Correct. Last 3 weeks has been 7lbs.
I am assuming you mean 7lbs total or 2.3ish pounds per week. At 217 you are really at risk of having your body eat away at your muscle instead of just fat to sustain that rate of loss. You should strongly consider reducing your RoL to 1.5lbs per week to preserve as much muscle as you can. You don't want to end up "skinny fat" when you are done.

I'm losing around 0.5lb per week, I don't have a lot to lose and more working on lowering my bodyfat. I find weight loss is easier as I age, mostly because I am more knowledgeable and aware of how to do it. In the past I thought I had to eat 100% healthy and do lots of cardio. Now I know it's about being in a deficit over time, with exercise for fun, fitness and body composition.8
