Hey everyone,

I will be traveling with the band this week and I was hoping you all could help me with your go-to food options while out on the road. Removing myself from my routine always screws me up thanks to temptations of junk and being out of my element with my usual supplies. What do you guys go for?

    Just a few ideas . . . .

Things you can get at convenience stores: Hard-boiled eggs, whole fruit, good quality (high protein, moderate sugar) Greek yogurt, dill pickles in single-pickle pack, string cheese, V-8 juice, water (flavored or not), unsweetened tea.

Things you can get at a grocery store and take along: 100-cal packets of nuts or dry-roasted soybeans, single-serve shelf-stable packets of hummus (or instant hummus powder) and a box of good crackers, packets of tuna, hearty instant make-in-cup soups/other foods.

Fast food, see this thread among others:

I put things into containers with lids. I'm more likely to stop and "save some for later" when it's in a resealable container and I don't feel like it must be finished.

Can you take a small ice chest? That opens up more options: yogurt, string cheese, berries, etc.

I like hard boiled eggs, beef sticks or jerky, carrots, veggies and hummus, apples, sliced deli meat, string cheese and Twizzlers. Yeah, I know licorice isn't a healthy option but I always get some for road trips.
