So I go every year for a physical and prior to this year, when I weighed at least 25 lbs more my cholesterol was fine. Just went for a physical and my LDL is slightly elevated so she said just watch my diet a little more. I don't understand, as I lost 25 lbs this year why would it be slightly elevated? Yet when I was heavier all good!

Yes it was just yesterday and I have about 6 lbs left to lose...I do IF and when I got my blood drawn at lunchtime, I had only eaten an apple about an hour before, prior to that nothing since 5:30 the evening before.

They said normal LDL (in Canada) should be up to 3.4 mine was 3.6 so slightly over but still?

I also have heard that during consistent weight loss LDL can be temporarily elevated. I believe one of the best ways to reduce LDL is increased activity level, so perhaps keep watching your diet to lose weight, maintain a good activity level, and it may actually resolve itself anyway by the next time you get tested.

How was your HDL? The last time (which was also the first time) I was tested, my LDL was a little high, but my HDL was very high, and my doctor said that the high HDL was more important than the barely high LDL, and since I had no other risk factors it was just something we'd keep an eye on.

Call the office and see if they will print you out the test results. They did that for me and I just had to drop in and pick it up. I'm a geek, so I had fun looking up all the stuff I didn't know what it was

They usually make me fast for 10-12 hours before testing blood lipids. Did they not have you fast before testing?

No, they used to but last year the lab and doctor said that they changed it so no fasting required anymore for cholesterol blood work. I guess they fine tuned the test somehow so don't have to anymore.
