11/28 172
11/29 173.2 a middle of the night carb attack - and not much sleep - a friend passed away unexpectedly yesterday morning. I am only 56 and I have lost 3 friends this year.

11/26 149 I was able to maintain for most of the week last week but the last couple of days were the hardest in motivation, time and dedication. I am almost done reading everyone's post from round 59 and haven't started round 60 yet but I should be caught up by the end of the day. I like giving everyone's post attention, so when I feel as if I am not doing that I stop reading or else I would be done by now. A new week and a new round. I am not worried about the number because I wasn't paying any attention to what I was eating and I wasn't exercising at all so I know once I start back up today, the weight should come off pretty quick and I will start my downward trend again. I am just happy I am snapping back into it at this weight rather then waiting until I gain an extra 10+!! here is to a good round!!
11/27 148.4 late posting today, yesterday was a wash, I was all set to get some exercising in but then one thing lead to another and I didn't. today was better, got a jog in and 90 min of volleyball. I have my mind made up...I'm resetting mentally. I am starting at this weight and looking at it from a perspective of beginning again, that way I don't torture myself on the gain and the amount of days/weeks I may have wasted because of my bad week last week. Cheers to new beginnings and remembering it's only a number.
11/28147.4 I am proud of myself..a couple of weeks ago I would have seen this slow moving after a binge and get super down for the amount of time I put it on vs having to take it off in the first place...but I am at total peace, I know it will come off and there will be weeks it takes longer to melt away and there will be woooosh weeks where it seems to just slip off. I have been showing a loss trend since I started give me 10 days and at this point that's all I can ask for, regardless of it is .4th of a pound (my lowest) or 5.4 (My highest) it is going down and it works! This week I have decided to give up chocolate, I am not usually a person who believes taking some thing away but instead learning portions, moderation and balance throughout the week (which means not having your treat everyday) but I have been triggered and have been craving it a lot more then usual, so will do what I have too until I show some signs of control again
11/29 146.0 I think my body is flushing out everything I ate last week, I am hoping it keeps going and doesn't stop, at least not for another little while. Yesterday I only did about 33 odd minutes of working out, not including walks...I expected this week to be somewhat better but its still been rough. I find myself hating it when I don't get a work out in, I feel lethargic and down...sometimes even bloated without having eaten anything to cause it and when I did workout yesterday I felt so much better.. like having a shower after a long day, it woke me up, reenergized me and made me feel good...I will have to hold on to that thought and remember that feeling. My mother is still really depressed about her sisters passing (which is to be expected) and has gone as far as not wanting to put her Christmas tree up because she doesn't want to celebrate without her sister but I know that her sister would be dissapoined if my mother didn't put the tree up or if the family didn't want to celebrate. Christmas was my aunt's favorite time of the year, so although I know its a sore spot, I think we should be spending this time celebrating her life and not grieving her death..If that makes sense, but we all deal with grief differently and I know enough to allow each their own process without pressure. Having said that though, I am thinking of decorating my mother's house for her nd putting her tree up so she will have a little surprise when she gets home from work today...i honestly think it will help her and ease some pressure, time wise.
11/30 145.8 This is where I expected it to slow down, well at least it's a loss and I am back to where I started two weeks ago. Exercised good, drank 1.3 liters of water and ate within calories...although LNS got to me last night after some light exercising and I gave into some cashews I had. That might also be the reason I didn't loose too much weight this morning, regardless if they were saltless.

11/24—DNW—Just got back home. Very early flight in from Ohio. I haven't weight for three days and I'm sure it's not pretty. It wasn't pie that got me. I was very reasonable with the pie. But I was very UNreasonable with dip. Worth it though. (That's easy for me to say when I haven't weighed in!) 5 pounds of gain wouldn't shock me, because I was eating so differently and that makes me gain water weight quickly.
11/25—219—Well, that's not great, but it was 3 pounds rather than 5. Winning!
11/26—218.6—The slow recovery commences. I didn't really eat great yesterday, but it was an improvement over the previous three days!
11/27—218—This was an early weigh-in, so I'm pleased. I was starting a workout last night and I came down wrong on my right foot. Severe pain that lasted just a short while. Today I seem fine, but now I'm a little spooked.
11/28—218—My right ankle/foot seems to be fine. I wonder what that was? Yesterday I had meetings all day and came home exhausted. Today I woke up with a stuffy head. I don't know whether I was so tired because I'm coming down with something or if it was those darned meetings!
11/29—218.2—I had a GREAT workout last night. I continue to push forward with my goal of completing the pushups challenge and yesterday I finally made some progress. TOM is creeping up on me so I'm retaining water. Boo!
11/30—217—I'm surprised this number went down. I had a salt-fest yesterday, though my calories weren't too bad. I also realized at about 5 o'clock that I had actually not had ANYTHING to drink all day! All day! I did a good job making up for it, but that's nuts!11 -
@deepwoodslady, I'm so glad you went back and that you talked to Joey. I hear you about being a work in progress, though I feel like that's what life is. We're never like a finished painting by a master hanging in the Louvre. We're like a finger painting a two-year old adds to on occasion at the kitchen table!9

11/24 - Saturday - 178.6 - yesterday proved to be more difficult than thanksgiving and I definitely over ate. Stuck to my habits this morning tho. Friends coming over for dinner so not a normal eating day again but I'm looking forward to it!
11/25 - Sunday - 179.6 - more holiday indulgences in the form of friends and cheese. Making an effort to drink water today. Moms for mac and cheese dinner tonight. Way too much dairy for me but tonight is the end of the line...back to it tomorrow. Reminder to self that scale is just data, I had a wonderful holiday and in enjoying the journey despite a later arrival date.
11/26 - Monday -179.8 - Tummy was a bit upset this morning - no surprise there as my beloved mac and cheese is hard on me. I skipped my smoothie but took my supplements. Frozen entree for lunch and leftovers for dinner - but back to habits and structure and I'm happy about that!
11/27 - Tuesday - 179.6 - Need to really commit to the next few weeks before Christmas again. But maybe not go so extreme - because I tried to be SO on point before thanksgiving that I was like RAAHHH EAT ALLL THE THINGS once it finally came. So a little more balance - I need to stick to my weekday schedule, and do my 80/20 on the weekends so I can enjoy, be happy I'm still trending downward, and not undo all that work again come Christmas. Working on my patience as I get nervous watching the scale hover back to 180 and feeling kinda fluffy. Need to do some more meal planning and get more physical activity in as I just like to eat and burning more calories would help me be able to do that - mapping out a dog walk to do daily.
11/28 - Wednesday - 177.8 - Not what I was expecting but I will go with it! Last night was busy, no food planned or prepped - got KFC for dinner and it fit within calories for the day and I miraculously gave away the cookie that came with the meal haha. Nonetheless I do have a headache this morning so I'm crushing water and doing lunges every time I go to the bathroom - they are so hard! But I remember when I started doing my bathroom aerobics that the squats were hard and now they are easy so I'm excited to improve!!!
11/29 - Thursday - 177.2 - Sweet! Well this week is screaming by. Last nights NSV was eating half of my dinner - knowing I was full and stopping despite having more mashed potatoes to eat. I told myself if I wouldn't finish the veggies, I was not actually hungry and didn't need to finish the potatoes on my plate. Quads are on fire from yesterdays lunges but I managed to get my knee all the way to the floor which I had not been able to do!
11/30 - Friday - 176.8 - Happy to see this number again!!! Feeling great overall - been throwing meals together with whatevers left in the house, stir fry has officially become a weekly staple! Meals planned for the weekend include eggnog french toast with sausage (to use up holiday leftovers), pasta with meat sauce (good for atleast a few meals), chicken cheddar broccoli pasta bake - dang this is all very carby - need to spread these ideas out and fill in with some veggie centric dishes. Weekends are still a work in progress but I'm being more mindful of it this weekend...80/20!!!12 -
Hi everyone ~ so happy to be here! I've been with MFP since February 2018 and have lost about 40 lbs. Early on, I weighed myself daily for a brief period but couldn't handle it!! The emotional up and downs of the scale made me a little cray cray so I stopped for the sake of my family, lol. Then between June and November I lost my mom, my job and my fitness mojo. I regained 13 lbs (including the recent holiday), but have lost 10 of it again so yayyy me. It's been very difficult to motivate myself and remain consistent, but believe I'm finally back on track and strong enough now to handle a daily weigh-in, lololo. Thanks for the opportunity.

11/25
11/26 ~ 236.8 (up 2.6 lbs from DAYS of Holiday yumminess - no regrets!)
11/27 ~ 236.2 - been pushing more than usual to counter balance all the carbs and sugar and feeling a little sore this morning. So even though my inner competitor wants to run 10 laps, today will definitely be a rest day. (UPDATE: was feeling so good did 30 minutes of HIIT in the afternoon)
11/28 ~ 238.0 - WT? Poor sleep maybe? It better be muscle!
11/29 ~ 236.8 – Yesterday was so carb heavy I was afraid to look! But I stayed within calorie count and got in some exercise, so this time it worked like it should, lol. Definitely need to keep it simple the next few days.
11/30 ~ 235.0 – yessss! almost back to my pre-holiday weight of 234.2. I have to say, while still no regrets for the holiday eating, I’ve had to work almost 3x as hard to lose the weight this time. I know I need time and consistency to build up a momentum again, but definitely going to be more mindful of this going forward.
DECEMBER GOAL: Do my best to end the year on a high note.

Exercise Goals:
Walk at least an hour 3 days a week, 4 days if nothing better is available.
Weight training 1 day a week
Walk 45 miles in November (Nov 30th - 50.7 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Day/Weight/Comment:
11/24 - 187.8 Down is always the right direction. Got over three miles in yesterday and stayed within calorie goals even with a half a piece of pecan pie! Thankfully the leftovers are all gone. I'm just happy to have made it through Thanksgiving without a gain. I have decided if the weather holds out I am going to try to get 50 miles in before the end of the month.
11/25 - 187.3 It ain't much but I'll take it, happily. I did not end up walking yesterday. I went to a funeral (step grandfather I didn't know well but needed to go for my step Mom who I love) and the chatting after lasted too long to get a walk in before dark. I have three hours before the snow starts, I am trying to talk myself into walking before the storm, but it's cold... Whining doesn't make me healthier just fatter. Ok I'm going dang you guys are tough on a girl!
11/26 - 187.8 I'm sure this is due to a high sodium day yesterday. I did get my three miles in though, finished just as the rain that turned into ice that turned into snow started. It was actually a great walk after the first half mile of freezing. I didn't see another person or even animal on the trail. Usually I see or hear squirrels off in the woods - not yesterday.
11/27 - 186.4 Woohoo goodbye retained water!!! The only exercise I got yesterday was snow-shoveling the driveway. I turned on the MapMyFitness app. It said I burned 371 calories in 25 minutes. I know that's not right though I did work up a sweat. Tonight is gym night and I even remembered my clothes so I don't have to go home first. Of course I did forget my breakfast and lunch I was bringing to work... Meal planning is great and everything IF you remember to bring it with you.
11/28 - 186.7 Nothing but a blip! Yesterday's drop was a little dramatic so I think this is more of a true-up. Half way thru this challenge already, it goes so quickly. I did a short walk yesterday trying to get to 45 miles but I had misremembered how far I needed and am still a little more than half a mile away. BUT since I still have three days and need to exercise, I'm going for 50. These self imposed goals encourage me when I'm thinking I'd rather not go out in the cold to walk. I still did weights after walking but not as much because I got overheated walking and one of the fun symptoms of MS is when you get hot you get weaker. Not an ideal time to lift weights. I couldn't do the same weights I normally do so I did slightly lower ones for fewer reps, but still feel pretty good about it. MS can suck it!
11/29 - 188.5 I got in a three mile walk and stayed within calories but somehow I'm up. As we always do I assume it's the sodium from yesterday. I won't lie it's a kick in the guts when you see a number that's 2 pounds more than yesterday and you know you've done everything right. It's the problem with weighing daily. I'm also not feeling well. Another frickin' cold, my head hurts, I'm sneezing like a fool but thankful for Dayquil. Good news tomorrow is another day, all we can do is trust the process. I'm less than 3 miles from getting 50 for November.
11/30 - 187.1 Sodium is the devil. I'm hopeful for 186.X by the end of the round. I am super excited because I got 50 miles in November! My cold is still here, which means I cannot see my immune suppressed boyfriend this weekend but I'm going to celebrate hitting 50 miles anyway. I don't want to set another mile goal for December because I couldn't do any other exercising when trying to get a mile goal. I'll still walk for the majority of my exercise but I need other things too. It's cold to much other than exercise videos or stationary bike, but on those few sunny days I'll play tennis. Happy Friday everyone!

Day/Weight/Comment
11/24 - 177.4 - Ate nothing unusual, only 22 calories over, drank plenty of water. Just a normal fluctuation.
11/25 - 178.4 - Over calories by 300 from eating keto seed porridge. Still no unusual foods, except for a pumpernickel dinner roll. Plenty of water and enough sleep.
11/26 - 178 - I need salt and potassium. Last night during my fasting hours, I ate 250 calories worth of salty, spicy peanuts ? Could have saved calories just drinking my electrolytes. I don't know why I have been having an aversion to drinking electrolytes.
11/27 - 178.8 - High carbs yesterday, late dinner, no electrolytes ?
11/28 - 174.8 - Skeptical, weighed 3 times though. I'm pretty sure its because of the electrolytes I finally drank.
11/29 - 177.4 - I knew my weight had to settle but not to this 177 again ? Lol My body's water balance is so finicky.
11/30 - 178.2 - Pretzels. Didn't need salt. I was good and drank my electrolytes. Problem solving eating. Guess it all boils down to stress though. BUT, this IS becoming laughable. My knee compression sleeve came yesterday. Yaay! It doesn't fit as snug as I'd like. Boo! So I did about 20 semi sumo squats to test it out. My knee said no way, but I say 20 is my limit right now. Going to exchange it for a size smaller.

It's really warm here today - almost 50 - so I'm planning to get out for a walk and get my outdoor Christmas decorations up before it turns cold again. I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

I know this little bump up is residue from excess calories on TG, so I'm watching but not panicking. MFP says my maintenance calories without exercise are 1380, and SailRabbit calculates it as 1318. Since I've lost so much, I'm guessing it's at the lower end, so trying to aim for 1250-1350. We shall see.

This is my fifth week of adding foods back into my diet after 6 weeks of eliminating them. This week I've added dairy (after eggs, tomatoes, peppers, & gluten the past 4 weeks). So far, I've had no reactions at all, so apparently my inflammation levels aren't related to those foods. Three weeks to go, adding soy, corn, and peanuts. I'm not sorry I did this, but I'll be glad when it's over.

Eeek! But it's mostly water. I had a bunch of salty snacks last night at a gathering. I plan to drink lots of water today, and watch what I eat the next few days.

am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

Oh goodness, I am half an inch shorter, started out twenty pounds heavier in January, lost my mother last spring, and am nearly the same weight you are now.
I started thinking of myself as a large bag of mostly water, since that water fluctuates so much depending on salt/time of day or night eating/stress/hormones. I was up half a pound today from yesterday but having lost nearly 60, I know that's just water. Daily weighing keeps me mindful of my eating, and intentional with my exercise.10 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
11/23 131.5 Round 59 end weight
••••••
11/24 132.5 Something I ate did not agree with me! According to my Garmin, I didn’t go to sleep until after 3 and was up just after 6. It’s gonna be a looong day! And it seems I did not post this morning!
11/25 132.0 Thank goodness 4 days of cooking and 3 days of eating have ended! Monday I’m starting a fat fast for 3-5 days.
11/26 133.5. What the heck? All I ate yesterday was a large Greek salad with gyro meat and small slices of the 2 keto pies left from Thanksgiving. I was under on calories, hit my protein on the nose and carbs were 1g over due to the 1/4 pita I ate. THIS is why I always say IT TAKES 2 - 3 DAYS for what I eat to show on the scale. SATURDAY the food was rich and we had a liqueur tasting. Well, it is what it is. Starting my fat fast today.
When your weight makes a CRAZY swing - look at what you ate 2 or 3 days before for an explanation.
11/27 133.5 So. . . messed up my fat fast yesterday when I made spinach for myself for dinner AND being human like everyone else here, I was angry with myself so ate the piece of Keto cake I had in the fridge from Saturday. All of the goodies are gone and husband made a lunch date with friends for tomorrow. My fat fast may be a bust but it has me very aware of my eating again and that is good.
11/28 132.0 Gym time yesterday. Drank almost a gallon of water. 1 qt extra because of gym and I know it aids muscle recovery! Going out to lunch and then the gym!
11/29 133.0 “Combo fast” of my own making. Eggs, beef, fat.
11/30 131.0 Arts & Crafts 5th Friday luncheon today. Think I’ll go try my Zumba video since I doubt I’ll be able to get to the gym by 2.11 -

11/26 – 58.0kg I am so happy because despite not going to gym and eating so much food I didn’t gain a lot of weight! Back on track again from today!
11/27 - 58.0kg
11/28 - 57.7kg (-0.3kg) Woohoo! I don’t know what I did that made this drop. Well I hope it doesn’t go up again.
11/29 - 57.2kg (-0.5kg) wow! that felt good, I am now even more motivated to workout more and eat healthy.

Round 55 – Finished at 170.0 (1.8 lb. loss)
Round 56 – Finished at 165.2 (4 lb. loss)
Round 57 – Finished at 163.6 (2 lb. loss)
Round 58 – Finished at 161.4 (2.2 lb. loss)
Round 59 – Finished at 160.2 (1.2 lb. loss)

11/24 159.8 It’s great way to start a new round with a lower number than the last round! Thor and I walked 4.2 miles today. We’re slowly increasing our distance when my foot doesn’t hurt. On Monday I’ll see a podiatrist. I’m happy to be back for another round with you friendly folks! I pray it will be a great round for everyone here.
11/25 159.4 Nice to see, but, while my weight has gone down, I ate a little pecan pie and drank a little eggnog for the last three days, and my ketone level is down to less than .1. That’s my wake-up call—enough pie! I may have to put the last couple of slices in the freezer to give to my husband over time. He’s still working on the pumpkin pie, and there’s a lot of pumpkin cake left. It will disappear if he takes it to work tomorrow. To my credit, I haven’t even tasted the pumpkin cake. I give thanks every day, but I’m glad that holiday is behind me.
11/26 160.2 Whoops, I should have listened to myself yesterday. Last night, I made the decision that one ounce of pie and half a roll probably wouldn’t hurt me. Wrong! Beginning today, I will, once more, fully embrace the keto guidelines. What was I thinking? It’s cool out, so Thor and I can take a little walk and see if the pad the doctor put on my foot this morning is helpful. I still have time to get back in the 150’s before the end of the round.
11/27 159.8 I followed the rules yesterday and took a 3 mile walk with Thor. The podiatrist I saw yesterday thinks he can get me running without surgery. I hope he’s right. Today, I get to see what the dermatologist finds. My skin isn’t getting younger. I didn’t do a lot of sunbathing in my younger years, so that should help. Still, I’m fair skinned and had time in the sun, and I’m pretty sure a spot on my nose will be a concern. Fortunately, my soul is spotless, thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice on my behalf—that’s the critical issue. Praise God! I must keep everything in perspective.
11/28 159.4 Inching back down. Thor and I walked 4.8 miles this morning, without foot pain. We’re almost at the 5-mile mark, which I’ve determined is my cue to start C25K again. I was thrilled when my sweet daughter called yesterday and talked for two hours about keto/running/strength training. She started the keto WOE after my granddaughter told her I was losing weight with keto. She decided to try it and loves her results—15 lb. loss in 3 weeks and more energy. She cruises, often, with her husband and wants to recover her bikini figure. It will be a miracle if my daughter starts running. 😊 After I learned how to run, I enjoyed it. Maybe my daughter will, too. I had a spot on my nose burned by the dermatologist yesterday—hope that does it for a while.
11/29 158.8 I like being a loser, and I’ll do my best to keep being a loser. That said, I’ll still ditch my walk with Thor to play cards and socialize with my friends today.
11/30 157.6 This surprised me. I was worried, because I didn’t exercise, and I had a good lunch and a good dinner (keto approved, delicious and filling). Because I enjoyed my meals, I felt like I didn’t deserve to see a smaller number on the scale? God has blessed me with a lot of things I don’t deserve (salvation, life, family, etc.), so I should be used to it. Thank you, Lord, for every large and small blessing! Now, I’ll take Thor for a walk and, this evening, Good Lord willing, watch my youngest son coach his football team to another playoff win. Tomorrow’s his birthday, and another win would be a good way to celebrate!

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130.
Want to get back to 127-128
Creeping back to JGM10D quietly after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the accountability.
11/25 - sick and eating all the sugar in sight
11/26 - ditto
11/27 - 133.6 - a new high for me as I creep back over my original goal weight of 130.
11/28 - 132.6 - under maintenance calories yesterday.
11/29 - 130.8 - under maintenance calories by a nice amount yesterday. I am not setting a weight loss goal at this time, just getting back into logging and staying under maintenance.
11/30 - 130.6 - under maintenance calories, got about 7500 steps in spite of intermittent rain (I know, I am a NorCal wuss!)

So glad you had a good time and everything went well. I found this for you!
Wow! I don't know where or how you found this at just the right time, but it's PERFECT! Thanks so much.
Thanks to all others for your hugs, your great comments this morning and for my morning MFP mail in my mailbox. You guys are the best!
@quiltingjaine Great job on the combo fat fast. 2 lbs down - Fantastic!
@aFit50 I love your simple but effective December Goal: To do your best to end the year on a high note. I think I will join you!
@puttyputty You are so right. Our lives are often like a two-year-old's finger painting. Sometimes it's a little messy and doesn't look like it makes a lot of sense. But those are the very paintings that we display on the refrigerator with pride for all to see! So many nice comments from all of you. It truly has made me feel much better. Sometimes I feel like my painting is nothing but circles, going round and round in the same spot and never getting anywhere. But it feels familiar and safe. Starting today I am going to add a few straight lines. Maybe another color or two. I am in no hurry now. Sometimes I try to be so "efficient". But today I feel okay that my life develops slowly and naturally. Today I feel more empowered. I think God puts people in our lives, events in our pathway and we decide how to include them in our painting. That also makes me feel as if I have some sort of say in all of it. I feel strong today. And I feel like my painting is just going to get prettier and prettier in due time. Thanks for helping.
@abowersgirl Thank You! And in regards to your Aunt, the best way to honor her life is to live a good life yourself. Be healthy. Be happy. Be good and spread that goodness everywhere you go. You are already doing that each and every day so I am sure she has always been so proud of you. Nothing says " I love you" to a family member like a life well lived.
@tiabirdie56 Your advice is always on point. Thanks for helping me through yesterday with your wisdom and your insight. You share so very very much with all of us. I just want you to know how much I appreciate it all. On another note: Today I will be drinking the triple threat water recipe you have shared. The potluck last night did a little damage. I managed to stay under calories but my carbs were pretty bad. But I shall overcome!
