If you 'regret' the holidays you're doing it very wrong.

By regrets, I meant the food we take in, the ones that hard to say no to lol I mean there are those days when u had too much and feel bad about it, and think that maybe u messed up, but u have to keep going.

I just got back from a trip to visit family for Thanksgiving week... I gained the five pounds I had lost since the end of October!

I'm confident that I can lose that weight again pretty quickly but it put me behind the 8 ball. I'm too ashamed to post my progress pics but I did take a picture of the scale when I got home and posted it... I guess maybe I'm thinking I can shame myself into losing that weight faster.

I suspect I will have better control going into the Christmas holidays...

Would you try and 'shame' a friend or family member into losing weight?

    No, just myself

    Why is it any different?

Don't "feel bad" about it. Imbuing food choices with moral values that you then reflect back on yourself is not helpful, and can be a fast bigger problem than any day's food choices.

I’m in the same boat. I had a plan but 8 days away eating out and enjoying family with drinks. I’m up 5lbs. I’m very disappointed in my self.

Oh yah. I also have a really bad cold so I’m not going to the gym in the morning.

Why not eat everything, but just a bit of everything? No reason to stuff yourself senselessly. Enjoy the time of the year, enjoy the food, but not overdo things.
