I am just starting on the Keto diet. What are some tips or suggestions you have for me? Also any good recipes that you love?

    The group mentioned above has great resources. There is also a Keto MFP subgroup that is very good.

    My tip is to increase sodium to at least 3000-5000 mg a day. If you don't you'll end up with an electrolyte imbalance (often called Keto flu) which is entirely preventable. There is 2300 mg of sodium in a tsp of salt, so you need roughly 2tsp of salt a day. People get that by liberally salting food and drinking salty broth, eating half a teaspoon of salt with water a coupl of times a day, making salty ketoade, or eating salt tablets.

    I also recommend keeping protein moderate to high to help with satiety and preventing lean tissue loss; about 25-35% while losing is best.

    Eat normal foods and don't add extra fats unless you have a very lean food. Fat calories add up quickly.
