Broke my finger yesterday  Tried to do some pushups this morning and it was quite painful. I will see where I go from here, will keep updating the thread with sit-ups for now and do as many pushups as I can without injuring myself further until I feel more comfortable again.

Oh no! Yes, you definitely need fingers for pushups! It could take awhile for that finger to heal. Best of luck with that.

1,500 crunches takes about 25 to 30 minutes. I do them 500 at a time 3 times in between my workout

Very glad to see every poster in this thread working to improve themselves. Doesn't matter if you are doing 10 or 10,000 per day, if you keep doing what you can you are moving one step closer to the person you want to be. As Benjamin Franklin once said,

"If you do today what others won't, you'll do tomorrow what others can't."

Even small amounts add up over time. Dawn is lamenting "I really am not getting better at this" yet she really is, whether she realizes it or not. Is she doing 100 at a time? Of course not, yet she has already logged 450 this month alone, which is probably more than she's done in a long time combined! Just like a diet will have many internal impacts before anything is seen externally, so too are each of you improving in ways you may not be able to see but are every bit as real.

Thank you to machavin for citing me as an inspiration, but I will raise a glass to each of you as also being inspiring in turn. (Hmm...glass of water for a fitness forum? Glass of eggnog for the holiday season? lol So many choices!)

    Thanks for that nossmf : - )
I have always been fairly strong in the lower body (skating etc.) but I really do suck at push-ups : - )
It is good to have this challenge to get them in every day. I definitely feel lots of spots getting stronger from doing them, but I do them from my knees and don't get even close to the ground. If it weren't for this challenge I would never do them.
Fitness forum or otherwise, I will soon be making a big pot of mulled wine for over the holidays, so cheers!
