I also log most of mine the night before plan what were having for dinner and what im going to take to work for lunch snacks etc and log it all , Then ill revisit my list when i get to work in the morning and make changes if ive changed my lunch box slightly I find this works really well for me cause if something pops up during the day like a lunch meeting or meeting for coffee etc etc i no where i stand how many calories i have at that point in time and i dont find myself getting to the end of the day and not having many left for dinner so just over eatting :) ..

"No more "a Blooming Onion has HOW MANY calories and serves HOW MANY people? *&@%#^!*&!!" scenarios at 11 PM."

 I log as I go but I almost had one of these moments when I went out to eat. I looked up the food before to make sure it fit within my set goals (minus the dessert I brought home for later- impulse) I was like, are you kidding me??? Needless to say I ate only a third and still fit it in my daily allowance. Prior to MFP, I would have eaten the whole thing.

Your post made me laugh... So true!

I log my days menu while drinking my one and only cup of coffee in the morning. I do this 7 days a week. It helps me to have a plan and get the biggest and healthiest bang for my buck, without going over my daily calorie count.

I plan my meals weekly, and shop for what I have planned and what I have planned ONLY. I have two kids and a fiancé and they eat what I eat. I don't eat "diet foods"- I cook and eat healthy, clean foods as much as possible and if it's higher calories then I eat less than my family does and use salad as a filler. Gotta stay positive, and look at the big picture.
