@Melissa091778 welcome to MFP. I seriously started Oct 2014 at the age of 63 and since then Keto has been my pain management tool of choice. While as a side effect I did lose weight and have maintained a 50 pound weight loss for over 3 years now.

In my case my pain starts coming back when I start eating over 50 grams of carbs daily so I have built in motivation to stay in a state of nutritional ketosis. :)

This link is the sub MFP group that I often visit and they maintain a list of Keto tips and are great people with great first hand experience. You do have to request access which can take a few days but at a click of a button you may remove yourself at anytime should you so wish. There are other MFP sub groups of special interest as well.

You will find there are many ways to do Keto. I do a simple Keto for pain management. I do not eat or drink food containing added sugar and or any form of any grain and keep daily carbs down to 50 grams daily.

The Keto WOE (Way Of Eating) is nothing special I have learned but for some is a great tool for us to recovery our health if our past WOE is part of our health issues.

After 90 days things started to click in my case. By the way I did not lose a pound of weight the first 45 days but I did not start Keto just to lose weight. At my age I decided to keep it simple so I really do not track anything but my weight daily and only eat foods that I love when I want to eat. In my case I do eat 2000+ calories daily of foods that I love.

In time you will decide where Keto works or does not work out for you. Then you will find the WOE that works best for YOU. The WOE's of others may OR may not right for you. Everyone is different so the value of Keto advice can greatly vary in value.

Best of success in finding the WOE that helps you improve your health markers year by year. Keto is not a 90 day dash to better health. If you really hate Keto after a serious 90 day trial run then most likely Keto is not for you but there are many other successful ways of eating and you will find yours over time.
