    Yes. And HIIT is a protocol for improving VO2 Max for certain sport. But the fitness marketing industry has glommed onto the term and calls all kinds of things HIIT. Hint: if you can do it for more than 20 minutes or so, it ain't HIIT.

    Classes in gyms these days that are interval training are often labeled as HIIT. They aren't. They are fine. They can be valuable for fitness. But HIIT? Nope.

    yes, but few people actually do the high intensity bit as it's meant to be done.
