No hike yesterday, stayed home trying to fix a leaking waterline, did not get it done so maybe the same today. However I did have a great feeling this morning when I stepped on the scale. Without clothing I am below 200 lbs for the first time in a very long time. My peak weight was 360 and I started my current diet at 320 lbs, so this is a big deal for me. Not really official yet, I post my weights clothed, but it felt good anyway. Apologies to those on the UAC group, this is a duplicate post, but I just had to brag. Wearing nothing but a cell phone:

Thats great Rob!! Keep it up. I haven’t really been trying myself but haven’t gained any back at least but that has inspired me to work on it better.2
-
Congratulations, Bob. Your consistency and hard work are paying off. You are inspiring to all of us. Keep on keeping on. I hope you were able to fix the water leak so you can get out today.1

Good morning everyone! Alligatorrob congrats on your loss very cool!! N2gardens56 don’t feel guilty about working from home we are to shelter in place so we don’t get the virus! Don’t use your vacation for this save it to do something fun when this is over you deserve it! I am doing good. We have had rain and sun breaks in between downpours so I go for a walk during the sun breaks. Since curves is permanently closed I have to keep me motivated sometimes that’s hard I don’t want to listen to myself! Since I had stomach surgery in august I have not been drinking regular coffee just decaf definitely not the same! So I found out yesterday I could have coffee with caffeine wow I got a lot done! I felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my head! So back on the caffeine baby!! Lynnchristy congrats on your loss last week great job!! J29t at least the scale didn’t go up! Great job on that you can do it! Well everyone have a great day I am going to finish my coffee and get busy! ☕️☕️🤓5

Congrats Rob. That’s a great milestone.1

Happy hump day again +group. We are so strong and in this togther thankfully. Doing good here, staying upbeat in spite of being totally alone for who knows how long. Well I do have my cat even if he wishes I'd get out of his space for a bit. Good news is that we had a mild winter here in VA and the cat nip plant in the pot on the deck is making a comeback and we can pick a little off for his enjoyment already. Lettuce is growing well too.
@n2gardens56 - please don't feel guilty for your choice to WFH. Is your co-worker in a essential position? Don't use your vacation, just do your best work by staying distanced. Enjoy your yoga, make more healthy foods having fun in the kitchen feeding your body not your stress.
@alligatorob - congrats on the milestone scale victory. Not needing to pay the plumber is a NSV too so good luck.
@lindagalbreath577 - YIPPEE!!! I'd rather gain a little weight than loose coffee. Coffee, cable and internet are my best friends these days.
Friend hugs
Wishing each of you simple comforts today and everyday. Om....2 -
April and yuck, in the 40s, high barely 50. Sun is out but at 5 pm, that isn't going to heat us up. Sorry to read of the one with CV-19 and also the co-worker who works from the office. Well, the only event today was my son saw a beaver on our little walk. As far as I know, there are no beavers here and I tried to tell him it was a groundhog. A couple came right up and asked what he saw and I wanted to tell them back away but said nothing. Planted lettuce seeds just 2 days ago so not yet but my peas make me happy.0

I saw several marmots (groundhogs) on my Sunday walk with the dog. They are out and about with the warmer weather. They do look similar, but beavers are usually close to a water source. Marmots will den in rocky areas far from water.
@n2gardens56 - Do not feel guilty about working from home. I am doing what I can from home, but some stuff has to be done in the office. I would do it all from home if I could.
@alligatorrob - Welcome to Onederland. Don't ever leave. HAHA!
@lindagalbreath577 - Enjoy that caffeine!4 -
The sun broke out this afternoon so we drove over to a wildlife refuge and I went for a brisk walk it was great they have nice walking paths , birds ducks geese beavers all natural birds were singing walked 4000 + steps.. felt so good came home took a shower and in jammies. Life is good! Have a good evening everyone 🤓💖2

Thanks for all the nice words. Today was a good day, except that we did not find our waterline leak, and the yard is now full of huge holes. Just have to hope for better luck tomorrow. On the diet and exercise front, the one that matters most, I did fine today.3

It promises to be up to the 60s again today. I plan to go out and move some junk/clean up yard from winter and look at those pea plants! Son has done 1 of 3 online school meetings already. Spelling and grammar are next unless he wants to do math.
alligatorob Does your utility company have a program called MissUtility? They mark the various lines if you are doing work so you will MISS them. It is free and they just paint or stick flags in -- blue is water lines.1 -
@barbiecat, @lindagalbreath577 , @j29t , @alteredsteve175 thank you all for the encouragement, it lifted my spirits! I am working at the office again today, we have a Board meeting tonight, county supervisors, they are limiting it to 10 people, but our County Administrator has interpreted the Gov order to read all personal plus 10 public. He is not doing much to follow the 6 ft rule either. Oh well, I am off tomorrow and through the weekend, so this too shall pass. Walked to work yesterday and today. It has turned cold again which I do not mind, but with it came the wind, gusts up to 20 mph, so it feels really cold, still about 45 but sunny. Not much else to report, I am hanging in there and still logging.2

Went online to do grocery pickup thru a store here & the soonest time we could get is next Wed! Wow, guess it is really popular right now. Think we can make do without most of it until then, tho, & I should also be able to pick up my usual meds by then. Hubby might make an early morning run tomorrow (during senior time) to dash in, grab 2 things, & back out. I don't even want him to do that, but he doesn't want to wait til next week for it.3
-
We went to the store yesterday because somebody stole my orders - everything went OK, I got my money back, but this is not the reason that I'm writing this post. While we were in line waiting for the store to open, I was walking and running in place for 45 min. Some people were cheering and that made my day. I made 5252 steps and MFP valued it as 63 extra calories. Not bad, not bad at all.
Be well everybody and keep your spirit up. Some people need a good cheer in such trying times, but we can do it and we will come out of this eventually. G-d help us all.

Great idea, @7sorok. I will remember that the next time I'm stuck in a queue somewhere!

Good afternoon 60 & uppers Thank you alteredsteve175, Fishwishing, j29t and lindagalbreath577 for your encouagement I do so appreciate it. However, I may have put it back on this week and then some ... Sorry I have been MIA this week, I have an eye infection and have to put salve in it twice a day which makes me very sensitive to the glare from my computer and phone... So not much time spent on either at this point.
Special thumbsup to alligatorob that is so cool... I am looking forward to that kind of reading on my scale
Hello to any newbies, sorry I haven't been around, but I will later, promise
Have a wonderful weekend everyone
Shout out to my friends

Hello everyone. Had some really nice weather this week so I was able to get out and bike the Katy Trail three days in a row! Today it is cloudy and colder with rain chances this evening and tomorrow. It is supposed to even drop down into the mid-30's tonight. Brrr! I was hoping we were past those temperatures but looks like we're not. I have some lettuce and scallion seeds I want to plant but better wait a bit longer. Since I live in a condo, all my plants are in pots. This year I've decided to mix it up with some veggies as well as flowers. The scale is not moving despite my bike riding but that's okay. I have plenty of time. I haven't tried online grocery shopping yet but that may be in my future. I'm told that today at Wal-Mart here there was only one entrance/exit open and they were allowing in only a certain number of shoppers at one time. There was a long line of people waiting outside and not all were social distancing correctly. I'm not keen on the idea of standing in long lines, although it would a good time to exercise as 7sorok did. I am a bit depressed at the thought of Easter with no family get-together but this too shall pass. Everyone stay healthy and safe!3

Greetings, everyone. Made it through another work week. A couple of long walks with the dog on this weekend's agenda. And the usual chores around the house.
What do you have planned for this weekend?2 -
hello to all. The story is the same here--dog walking, dancing, riding the exercise bike, reading, listening to audiobooks, watching TV It's a good life except that Sasha, the poodle, doesn't understand why we see almost no people and the ones we see don't pet her or even come close to her. Hubby spends time on the phone or playing games on the computer.

Hi, all,
Sounds like most everyone is hanging in there pretty nicely, despite all these strange times we're living through! If some are feeling a little more "hanging on by fingernails", I'm confident you'll get it sorted out - we've got a few tricks up our sleeves for getting on with what's necessary, at our age, right? :flowerforyou:
I'm bumbling along fine, feeling really grateful to be a major introvert, since "stay at home with just your household members" amounts to me and some houseplants indoors. Since 3/13, I've grocery-shopped once, and talked to my neighbor and a friend at 6'+ distances once each, but other than that, I've been surfing solo, in terms of non-virtual human contact.
Not working out as much as would be best for me, but eating is where it seems to need to be, and I'm confident I'll get busier as the weather here is getting more favorable (I'm in MI, USA - finally getting into the 50s F somewhat frequently in the daytime). Today, I figured out my recently-acquired multi-adjustable ladder, which is pretty cool, and started cleaning gutters on the garage. Much yard work will need to be done!
The eating side of the equation is fine; in fact, it's easier without restaurant and socializing options to tempt me. Libra graph looks like this for the last few months (goal is maintenance with ultra-slow loss right now) . . . notice the slightly steeper down-slope when isolation orders hit!
The solid horizontal-ish line is the trend, the vertical lines connect each day's scale weight to the trend line.
Some of you mentioned liking the garden flower photo before, so here is another, of some Hellebores (a.k.a. Christmas Rose/Lenten Rose) that are blooming lately. These have nice big blooms, like 2-4" across; although the the colored part that looks like petals really isn't, it's sepals, basically adapted leaves. The true flower is the center yellow-y part. The near-black ones aren't open yet, and I don't have any spotted ones (but those also exist).
Best wishes to all!5 -
Good morning all! Annpt77 your hellebores are pretty I need to get some of those they are pretty. I am making mask my daughter in-law she is a pharmacist and wants mask made for them so that’s what I am doing . We’ve had rain so doing indoor crafts to stay busy. Hubby has been watching Fox News all the time aaaarrrrrgggggg!!!! I get tired of the news nothing good or uplifting about it!! So I am in my craft room with the music on! Ok everyone have a great day and good weekend! Stay healthy!

Happy Saturday. Hope everyone is doing well. I've been staying busy in spite of being totally confined to my small unit. Was a little blue about having to remit the balance due on the big vacation rental house week that I'm sure won't even happen. That beach county is closed to visitors and non-resident owners and my state is under stay at home mandate until after my vacation dates. I hope I'll get my money refunded as it's not clear yet if insurance purchased will be valid or if owners/property management will refund my total payment. Anyway, to help chase the blues away I've been pulling up my favorite Surfchex webcam, asking Alexa skills to play beach wave sounds and walking around my little home barefoot and thinking of how much I love walking on the beach.
I did a detour to get a peak of the beach there last trip to see the Grandkids so I'll keep this memory alive until I can reschedule our family beach vacation.
@josephinebowman - glad your peas are bringing you joy.
@lindagalbreath577 - nature walks sound glorious. Good for you staying craft centered.
@n2gardens56 - are you in VA? Class 1 misdemeanor by not adhering to social distancing recommendations or utilizing teleworking as much as possible. Please stay safe.
@RetiredAndLovingIt - Hope you can shop safely. Amazon fresh here is "temporarily sold out of delivery times."
@lynnchristy - hope your eye heels quickly and easily.
@Fishwishing - bike rides are a big victory. Hope you can shop during uncrowded time.
@alteredsteve175 - enjoy your walks. "Plans for the weekend" LOL trying to remember what day it is.
@barbiecat - snuggle Sasha for me.
@AnnPT77 - thanks for chiming it, I know it's tough up there. Your Lenten Rose are so beautiful. Lovely variety.
Stay safe, distanced and well.
Wishing all of you the best. Hope you find peace today. Om...

Hello everyone and happy Saturday! Went for a hike today and yesterday on my local trail, which has been clear of other people, not many know about it...which I love. Took a photo to share. Also getting in yoga everyday. Love everyone's posts, keep showing up, it really cheers us up. @j29t my boss says we are exempt because we are a Gov office, which is true, we have to keep things going, but will continue to work at home as much as possible, thanks for caring about me!! Have a great day!

Worked outside a bit yesterday and napped today. Been eating a lot so I am unhappy about gaining but I can gain/lose any day around 4 pounds. Will worry a different day. It sounds like we are all perking along. That's good! Take care and wear masks if you have to go out.3

This is for all of us who are spending a lot of time at home doing crafts:

I've got to get back to walking. I quit when all the virus stuff started, but there's really no reason not to start it back up, since the only other walkers I would see would be a block or so away. Not getting that exercise means I've been taking in more calories than I'm expending lately, with the expected results. Drats - I want to come out of seclusion having lost weight, not gained it!1
-
bethe,You will feel so much better if you start walking every day outside. There is so much research that shows that walking is good for you in so many ways in addition to burning calories. I walk every morning and every afternoon. I am fortunate to live in a neighborhood with very few other people out walking and trees and a view of the mountains. Daffodils are coming up in yards and there are a few blossoming cherry trees.

I resumed walking today, and got 6000+ steps in. Took two walks with the dogs. On the first one, Audie Murphy slipped his collar so I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to catch him (he loves to dance around and run - grrrrr). Lol - I finally caught him when a cat faced him down, trapping him in a fence corner. What a BRAT!!!3

Hello from Coastal NJ. I've just noticed this discussion. I'm 65yo, male, retired, with some age-related limiting issues (I guess I'm out of warranty, LOL) and until a couple of weeks ago, trying to be pretty active. Most-of-year-round cycling, summer swimming and cooler months gym. I "got the bug" a couple of years ago, with slightly early retirement, and am down about 70lbs from max, easily 30 more to go. Like many others, this CV19 home isolation is driving me crazy. I've been using MFP on and off for a couple of years, and am currently in a log-everything mode. Keeping in mind the old adage, "you can't outride a poor diet," relative to cycling and weight loss, I've taken over the home chef duties while my wife continues her last couple of years working.
Pic below is a mid-ride stop in Long Branch NJ this past November.
