I’ve been doing keto and I only eat about 1,200 calories a day. Is this enough?

This is entirely incorrect. The only time your body would harvest mussels for protein is if you're not getting enough protein. Anybody on the keto diet is well covered in the protein and fat areas. Your body can harvest every single ounce of fat you have that is what it is there for. Your body is designed to store fat and burn fat on an as-needed basis.
What you are referring to typically only happens on your standard American lose weight diet of eating tons of whole grains an endless bowls of special k and Cheerios. You are taught that meat and fat is the enemy. People end up losing muscle mass and gaining weight.
As an American I haven't seen this happening at all. In fact with all the renewed focus on the low carb/keto craze right now meat and especially fat is being promoted pretty heavily. Any grocery store checkout lane will have several magazines that feature low carb/keto on their covers. Low carb 'experts' are guests frequently on talk shows/tv programs etc
Also, if one is trying to lose weight then they cannot eat endless bowls of anything, because it would most likely put them over the calorie deficit they need to lose weight. That's regardless of what foods-whole grains, fruit, chicken, fish etc.
Weight management comes down to calorie balance and hitting the correct calorie targets for your goals (loss, maintain or gain).8
