I DON’T QUIT WHEN I’M TIRED…..I QUIT WHEN I’M DONE!
I am weighing in on the First and the Last day of each month for a full monthly account.
MY STATS:
Highest weight ever (2014/2015): 253
Original starting weight for this current journey : (1-11-2018) 235.0
February starting weight – 186.9
February goal - 180 lbs
February Actual End Weight:
Weight/Comment:
Feb 01 - 186.9
Feb 08 - 186.7
Feb 15 - 189.0 It was a very nice valentine’s day luncheon & pot luck dinner. And it shows. 3 days of upcoming travel will not help next week’s bottom line either.
Feb 22 - 188.8 Well, it went down a drip. I obviously will not lose the 5 pounds I had hoped for, but I will work my butt off everyday to get my best result possible with the time I have left. I would normally weigh on the 28th, but I will be out-of-town & away from scale so I will weigh on morning of Feb 27th before I leave to complete February’s challenge.

I'm 5 lbs. down today and have successfully completed the February lose 5+ lbs challenge, so I'm real ecstatic! And that feeling of accomplishment reinforces my goals that much more, so that next week when I go back to work from our one week break, l'll have that extra pull to reach my goal weight because I have already proven to myself that I am capable of doing so and my goal weight is now much more closer.
I love this thread, and I'm keeping it going!
SW: 140 lbs.
CW: 135 lbs.
GW: 125 lbs.
P.S. I'll set an alarm to update by Saturday next week. Until then and beyond then, best wishes everyone!6 -

February 3 - 176.9 - I am seeing that the only time that I drop weight is after skating. There are 3 public skating sessions per week including today until the end of March. I did more than an hour of workouts yesterday (non-skating) but am still up slightly. It really frustrated me in January. Perhaps skating is more than exercise and is stress relief which helps me to lose weight?
February 4 - 176.0 after skating yesterday.
February 5 - 178.0 - 2 pound gain after a very "good" day. I learned from January about how this happens without reason. Staying on track. There wasn't any skating to go to yesterday, going today.
February 6 - 175.9 - Skating yesterday : - )
February 7 - 174.9 - Skating yesterday. I was afraid this morning because I was only at 400 calories by the time I got home last night from a busy day so ate dinner at 10:30! I thought that I would show a gain from eating so very late. I did burn a lot of calories though.
February 8 - 175.0 - could have been worse, I ate a whopping 2300 calories yesterday!
February 9 - 174.8
February 10 - 175.0 - Up slightly. Skating on the docket today, but also a dinner out. Going to be quite moderate with my consumption during the day to make up for the dinner.
February 11- 175.1 - Kind of expected that after going out.
February 12 - 177.8 - Hopefully just an anomaly. Skating today and tomorrow.
February 13 - 175.8 - Expecting a woosh soon, burned 1500 calories yesterday between skating, walking, snow shovelling! Skating today.
February 14 - 176.0 - another high calorie burn day yesterday with skating and shovelling, but I consumed lots of calories too. I was still in a deficit however. Geez it is so hard to lose weight!! Half way through the month already.
February 15 - 176.6 - No idea why, lack of sleep maybe.
February 16 - 174.7 - Glad to see this since I am hosting mulled wine at my house amidst all of the events of a Winter carnival today. Buffer : - )
February 17 - 175.4 - Okay, still 11 days left in the month. Skating today to hopefully undo some of yesterday lol.
February 18 - 177.4 - Sad about that, it seems that I can't be like a normal person and keep my weight loss up. I had 1700 cal yesterday (but with a 600 cal deficit) and 1900 the day before (with a 500 cal deficit). I have been very active and didn't really eat anything bad. It is a struggle, but I will keep on trying.
February 19 - 177.0
February 20 - 175.8 - skated yesterday and will again today. This has been a really tough month for weight loss!
February 21 - 174.4 - only a week left of the month. This has been a tough one for weight loss. 4 times in the 174s since the 7th, but not able to keep it there.
February 22 - 173.0 - planned night out including wine. I will try to keep consumables light during the day and do lots of calorie burning dance aerobics to make up for it (it being butter chicken, pakora, wine at the ballet etc.) 6 days left in the month in order to lose 1.7 to make the 5lb loss goal. Like January, I wasn't sure halfway through the month, I was gaining weight instead of losing. Staying the course. Today's weigh in is super motivating for me.
February 23 - 174.7 - Gained 1.7 pounds for going out. Best to not go out, but I did expect to gain. If I have dinner out once per month I will need to have a 2 pound cushion. It was really great to touch that 173. Hoping to get into the 160s in March and for a couple of months. 150s in May, 140s in August? Haha, getting ahead of myself. It takes so long to get off, and is so quick to come back on. Better to be in the 170s than the 180s or 190s like previous months I guess : - ) Ready for the next decade and to stay there for awhile.

@dawnbgethealthy, Lol. Well there have been a few things going on. I have developed a new "craving", not for sugar or salt, for crunch. Its very strange. Crunchy vegetables don't satisfy. I want the crunch from pretzels or crackers, yet I really do not crave them. I pinned it to not taking my B vitamins for a month. After a week of taking them again, those cravings subsided, but that is not enough time to put an end to it. I'm dealing with it. I ate some crackers yesterday and a few today, but I will take my vitamins too. Also, I changed my calorie level which is not a significant amount lower than what it was before and the macros are practically the same. I think it is working on me psychologically though. I'm going to change it back.1 -
Ugh. The log dates show me still going the wrong way, but I was back to 154.8 this morning. I keep gaining and losing the same 1.5 pounds.
I switched up my macros least week. I'm not hitting my new goals yet, but I'm getting closer. Still doubled down on strength exercise - and seeing some improvement there. Not hitting my step goals, but we're pretty much housebound by weather.
Focused. Not giving up - especially as it's still the time of year I'm usually putting on winter weight. It doesn't look like I'll hit 5 for February, but it's better than gaining.

How many days does it take to get back into a state of ketosis? Lol, so sad that a few crackers would make you have to start all over. I know someone who makes her crackers out of cheese. Also, when I was in the states they have them in the grocery stores in little pouches - cheddar, parmesan, and a few other flavours. I had a few packs (single serve) and they were pretty good and crunchy.
I often wonder if our cravings are something that our bodies need. I eat crackers every day, but I am not doing keto, so keep that snack to 100 calories + hummus or some other dip.
This weight loss is so frustrating.
But you have lost like 78 pounds all together!
Let's hope that we all do better in March : - )1 -

Gosh Lisa, me too.
I was like that in January also, but there were a few more days in the month to right the ship.
February has been very frustrating with the up and down.
I guess that the hope would be is that we are less than we were at the beginning of the month, but I have no desire to only be losing 1 pound in a month when I can put on 2 pounds in a day if I have a dinner out or eat like a "normal" person. Lol, if I lost only 12 pounds in 12 months and put them back on in a week it would be so cruel!
Of course we all just have to soldier on.3 -
@dawnbgethealthy, I'm hoping for a better fat loss month in March for all of us too. I don't know if I'm out of ketosis. I intermittent fast also
and that puts you in slight ketosis daily, because it depletes glycogen stores. I am fat adapted also, my body will use up glycogen and return to using fat for fuel. My "cravings" are for b vitamins. I need a month of daily vitamin intake before the cravings cease. I gotta stop skipping days! I absolutely know that is the problem, been in this state many times over the years when I slack on my B's. I'm dealing with it. Now, if I had not stopped taking those vitamins at the end of December, I think I would have been out of the 170's by January 31st. I've been in this decade since September 2018 and I know all the reasons why, but I don't think being out of ketosis was ever a problem. *I've put a reminder alarm on my phone so maybe I won't forget to take them!2 -

MFP starting weight October 27.18 - 191
5'3", 58 years old
February starting weight - 176.3
February goal - 171.3
February 1 - 176.3
February 2 - 176.8
February 24 - 175.0 - argh - hopefully just water. Skating today which might be my diuretic. 2 more skating days before the end of the month too, so need this weight to go down already.
February 25 - 176.0 - argh

Happy Monday, everyone!
I forgot to check in yesterday! After 2 weeks of rain, we were off to the Nascar race yesterday and some sunshine. My favourite driver didn't win, but one I don't like didn't win either
I've felt kind of stuck... mostly doing everything right but the scale just doesn't want to give me any credit for it.
I did have a NSV recently though - I put on a belt that I couldn't even fasten when I first started on my journey - in fact I nearly gave it away. A year or so ago I was able to put it on and as time went by I got to the smaller and smaller holes on it. I hadn't worn it for a while because I bought some new (smaller) jeans and didn't need a belt with them. I tried the belt on a couple of weeks ago, and I'm at the smallest hole on it. Even when I first bought it I couldn't cinch it up to the smallest 'setting'. AND there's room to spare. So that was an unexpected 'win'. Stuff like that helps the morale when the numbers on the scale are discouraging.
I'm still under 200 but I'm yo-yoing up and down from 196-197 and this morning I was 198 even. I think that is water retention - I was outdoors in wind and sun yesterday and caught a bit of sun/windburn (yes I had sunscreen on!) I feel a bit puffy/inflamed so I'm chalking that up to my body being mad at me for that and it will likely subside in a day or two.
I'm walking 20-30 minutes every weekday at lunchtime, and we're coming into the time of year where I'll be more active outdoors, especially on weekends. So maybe the scale will cooperate soon.
