Unexpected Outcomes With Weight Loss

What outcomes have you noticed that you never expected when those pounds started dropping off?
A couple of mine are;
Although chairs are more comfortable to sit in because you fit better, you can't seem to sit as long because your bum doesn't have as much padding.
It takes so much less time to shave my legs. Not only is there less skin, but I can reach all parts much easier.

This isn’t the answer you were probably expecting, but my bank account looks better now that I am eating out less!26

My hard mattress became too hard. I had to get a new one and even then add a nova form topper.9

I'm WAY less clumsy and awkward.
I guess it came from living in an oversized, unwieldy body but prior to losing weight I was noticeably more clumsy and accident prone. It felt like I was constantly knocking stuff over and bumping into things particularly in tight areas.
It also feels like I don't seem to hurt myself as much now. I used to trip over my own feet, stumble on stairs and bang my shins and elbows all the time. Now that doesn't seem to happen anymore.15 -
OP, I have the opposite reaction about chairs. I have wood dining chairs that I think are really comfortable, good back support. They have flat wood seats which don’t bother me at all but heavier relatives complain. The more padding the relative has, the more they complain. Maybe their superior mass exerts more force on the chair, hence the discomfort? Unsure. F=ma and all.5

Going down a size and a half in shoes, and sometimes two sizes depending on brand. I had to buy all new shoes!9

Related to the "padding" issue, I bruise more easily in some areas that have less fat cushioning them now.3

My sciatica pain lessened. It was a nice surprise and I have to say a big motivator to not only lose more, but to not re-gain.5

Before I lost weight my thighs touched, and when I had to sneeze in public I could just discretely squeeze my thighs together and hold my pee. Now that my thighs don't touch, it doesn't work that way anymore. Ask me how I know39 -
After I dropped 30 lbs in high school (which got me to a healthy weight for really the first time) I was insanely cold the first winter. Since then I've more or less maintained (at least stayed within the "normal" BMI range) and my internal thermostat adjusted by the next winter but it was still surprising.7

I am sure with some more weight loss I could place more clothes in a suit.

Easier to shave my legs, but harder to shave my armpits. There's an actual pit to navigate into now.DomesticKat wrote: »Going down a size and a half in shoes, and sometimes two sizes depending on brand. I had to buy all new shoes!
Same. And since I wear pretty expensive shoes to deal with arthritis issues in my feet, replacing them has been pricey!TMI TMI TMI

I have not hesitated to make a leg-crossing spectacle of myself.2 -

OMG! i was wondering what the hell is going on. I still haven't figured out how to get this one specific spot - two razers and lots of trials and errors later.

I’ve stopped snoring!7

When I read trwww, I was hopeful that my tinnitis might become better too. I've had it for almost 40 years. Another good reason to continue losing weight. It would be really nice not to have that continuous high-pitched ringing in my ears.3
