Logging Chewing Gum

I just don't even understand. I've seen some of the craziest things being logged for exercise. And no, I am not making up "chewing gum". I have literally seen someone log that. What are some of the craziest things you see people log? And why do people do this? Lol

Omg your probably right and I'm sure you just inspired someone to actually do it!

Breastfeeding! I breastfed, yes, it uses calories, but you really don't move during the process! There is no sweating or increase in your heart rate.

yeah I used to do that... House cleaning, moderate effort... But now... I figure housecleaning should just be a thing we do! Walking around the mall is just a thing! it's not the kind of workout I want to log, especially because of the overestimating of calories burnt.

Birth control or other non-caloric/nutritional pills. While I think it's pretty funny, I guess it's a good way to keep tabs on your days...

^^I'm guilty off putting my multivitamin on diary, but it helps me to not forget to take it in the morning.

    I saw "ironing clothes" once.

I did delete someone that continued to log 'preparing food' as exercise everyday 3/4x a day...... I don't think so.

Guilty for logging ironing but not since I have my fitbit...

That's crazy! You shouldn't log anything you do on a daily basis, because your body is used to it. That's what's keeping your weight at the weight it is and not causing you to gain more than you already have. :P The weirdest thing I've seen, is my friend would actually log the time it took her to walk from one class on campus to the other (our campus isn't even big...) "5 Minutes, walking at mod pace." Then she would also log the time she stood in Chem Lab, "Standing by the riverside fishing - 3 hours." You're working against yourself here....

EXACTLY! When I see that it is so obvious that people are sabotaging all their hard work. You can tell they are in some type of denial when they log such things.

I log my vitamins & supplement, calories or not. I do it because it helps me to remember to take them.

    Horseback riding

    Bareback.

Does this actually count as exercise? Like, what type of calorie loss does riding a horse consist of?

If I was currently breastfeeding I would log it. You burn calories and nursing mothers need to take in more calories for their bodies to produce the milk. Nursing an infant would give you an extra 500 calories a day and nursing a toddler is like 300 calories (since they also eat solid food)

I also log my multivitamin in my breakfast log but that is just a reminder to myself.

Um, it's not being logged as exercise. It's the recommended way to increase your daily intake to take breastfeeding into account.

What about childbirth? I've not seen anyone actually log it but if I gave birth you better believe I'd be logging that!! Surely it must burn a fair few calories - I was soaked in sweat when I gave birth, yuck!

I believe childbirth is sufficient enough you can eat whatever the f*** you want regardless of calories actually burned. lol

Hey. I have an open diary, but you don't need to actively promote my exercise logging publicly.

Just because people log differently than you do doesn't mean they are in denial or sabotaging their hard work.

I used to log cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, playing darts, etc. It motivated me to move more and absolutely contributed both to increasing my physical fitness and improving the quality of my diet. It didn't sabotage anything and I knew exactly what I was doing.
