Changing my life.Round 72: This round I need to focused period! Reminder to self to pick back up my tracking streak and monitor daily, reduce snacking on poor choices, drink more water and be active every day in some way shape or form!

- Drink more water (target min 64 oz daily; start with 1 glass before coffee)
- Journal Food Daily (tracking with MFP since 12/28/2018)
- Daily Vitamins (Dr’s orders; need to not ignore)
- Drink less alcohol (4 AF days per week; ~16 AF days per month; limit 1-2 glasses per day)

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

03/24 Didn't Weigh-in
03/25 162.3 (up 17.2 lbs from Round 57 last fall) I'm back, recommitted and ready to tackle this again. I hit my highest weight ever last June and made a plan and stuck with it and lost a good amount of weight. Not enough to get to my goal, but enough that I was in a happy place, and then I got lazy with it all. I stopped tracking everything little thing, I started to go over calories, I'd skip a workout, and then stress started creeping in. I traded in tracking, eating healthy, and exercising, which work for me in managing stress to mindless calorie consumption, poor nutrition choices, and excessive alcohol consumption. A sure recipe for failure. So here I am back to what I know works...tracking every single thing, posting here for accountability, and managing my stress by making myself and my workouts a priority. I feel ready to reclaim me again.
03/26 = 161.2 (down 1.1 from yesterday, still up 16.1 lbs from Round 57 end) Overall a good day yesterday! I was under in calories, in the right target zone for macros, & made healthy food choices. I did feel overly hungry all day but that is to be expected on "day 1" and I resisted all urges to sabotage and binge eat. There was 1 Coke Zero left in the refrigerator, so I did have that but other than that only water and did not have any alcohol. I had hoped to re-start my Betty Rocker workouts but I slipped on something and took a pretty hard fall in my bedroom yesterday. I'm fine(ish) but really tender and sore on my left side, so returning to running and strength training will have to wait a few more days. I plan to attempt some gentle yoga to stretch the kinks out and then soak in a hot Epsom salt bath tonight. Have a great Tuesday everyone! "Believe you can and you're halfway there".

@MadisonMolly2017 I've never heard of Kashi flax. I'll have to look that up. Fiber is something I am not getting enough of.

Not a bad round, I have had shark week and a holiday during this round so small gain was fine with me.
25/03
Had higher than normal carbs over the weekend and had a super active weekend, burned around 5000 calories on Saturday (16km of Rowing, 20000 Steps, Digging rubble out of the garden for 2 hours and a little jogging). So expect weight will subside a little toward the end of the week.
26/03
Went a bit mad with a loaf of bread yesterday, really must remind myself there's a reason why I don't normally keep certain foods in the house. Carbs up phenomenally yesterday again so up on the scale again today. Fibre will probably take care of that tomorrow though

32th Round for me: Female 66, height 5’
Goal this round, starting March 23: I will be away for half of this round and then for the next 3 weeks. I thought I would start the round to keep me on track till I leave. It will be a very busy trip with not much eating out so I’m hoping to just watch portions, not overcompensate for missed meals/odd meals because of travel. I am collected a stock of healthy snacks. Other goal is to keep up my movement and water.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, -.2Day/Weight/Comment

03/25 – 160.2 – Yesterday counted calories which kept me from over eating. Sundays tend to be a problem because meals are more random and then I don’t “feel” like I’ve eaten much when actually I have. Today off to the gym and then working away at my to-do list for going away. Have to empty my office so DH can redo the floor when I’m gone. It’s coming along but oh, my, what a lot of papers.
03/26 – 160.6 – Good day at the gym although so crowded b/c it’s spring break here. Didn’t get much on my trip list done but am home all day today. Hoping for good progress to I have time for the gym tomorrow.

03/23 …..189.6….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
03/24 ….. 188.0….. I had so much paperwork to do / catch up on when I got home. Not much movement/just more & more sitting but following WOE well. I handled cravings after travel surprisingly well. Yesterdays stats: 1069 Calories In / 2049 Calories Out. 12 Net Carbs. 8,199 Total Steps & 3.48 Total Miles. IF 12:12. Had 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 21 minutes. My only exercise was 10 minutes on elliptical. Today is my busiest work day (all the check-outs after the weekend here at the motel & cabins). I will easily get my steps in. Tonight I will have a movie night with my son. He & his Autism is the whole reason I have stayed in this barren & unforgiving town. I miss living closer to the city life! I’ve been here 21 years now. When I first moved here I had my mother, many aunts & uncles & cousins that I trusted to watch my son or be an emotional support. Hey, to be a work at home mom (with this small business opportunity) allowed me to get early educational & medical intervention for him, so this whole thing was a great idea at the time & it worked! He is doing so well, all things considering. But my mother passed away 14 years ago & every single aunt & uncle have also passed. My son graduated high school almost 4 years ago. I feel like I have little reason to stay in this exact spot. Feeling trapped some days. Job doesn’t feel as rewarding as it once did. My other kids & grandkids (who have all grown up here) are married & solidly living here so it is hard to leave. I have a lot to think about in the next couple of years. What I really want to do is be out there in Vegas with @quiltingjaine . I am coming up on age 59 so I can retire soon, but property is hard to sell here because the population is so low. Trying to keep my chin up & find my way out of this mess. BTW. I own another motel & cabin operation nearby that I bought in 2008. . I bought it to place my oldest daughter in (she manages it) so she could be that work at home mom too. Have I dug myself a hole I can’t get out of? I guess time will tell. Sorry for the rant. I guess I just wanted to finish my story that I started last round. There was definitely a plan & a need when I got to this one horse town & I will forever be grateful for what it has done for my family and my son. It is a beautiful place & a kind, loving, forgiving place and it has been great to raise my children here. Thanks for listening & expressing an interest in my story via your emails . Good luck everyone on this round. If I can stay away from the city I will see some weight loss I’m sure! 2 days out of town scheduled for this round that I know of. Day Trips. I will try to stay strong.
03/25 …..188.8 ….. Wow. I can’t believe it bounced up that easily. I took my son out for lunch during our heavy work day yesterday. Carbs were just a touch higher but stayed within an acceptable level. This must be sodium or normal fluctuation. We worked hard, then enjoyed our movie night. We watched Incredibles 2 on Netflix. In LOVE with baby Jack! What an Incredible movie (sorry for the pun). The world waited a very long time for another Incredibles movie. It was worth the wait. My movie snack was sugar-free jello with 1 TBS cool whip to make me feel special (less than 2 carbs). Stats for yesterday: 1061 Calories In / 2692 calories out. 53 Net Carbs. 12,612 Total Steps & 5.34 Total Miles. IF 12:12. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 14 minutes & woke up refreshed. I took a 31 minute walk but otherwise rested & enjoyed the movie. The art work was also phenomenal. I feel pretty good about yesterday. I feel like I passed the test at the restaurant which is a HUGE NSV for me. I feel powerful today. It will be a busy day. I hope everyone enjoys their week. Thanks for the inspiration you all have given me this morning as I fast & enjoy my morning black coffee. One foot in front of the other, I can do this again today. Thanks guys!
03/26 …..187.6 ….. Okay that’s better. Not sure what happened yesterday but it leveled out, whatever it was. Yesterdays stats: 1031 Calories In / 3077 Calories Out. 8 Net Carbs. 22,130 Total Steps & 9.38 Total Miles. IF 12:12. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 15 minutes & woke up refreshed. I exercised myself nearly to death yesterday (for an old lady, that is!) I walked for 115 minutes inside the school. It is so nice that they've left it open for us walkers during spring break. I also danced for 43 minutes. Sample song was “Shooting Star” by Bad Company. Today I go to my DD’s house to help prep the DGS’s drawers, closets & general clothing for upcoming spring. A bigger job than it should be because the boys are MESSY & it looks like an explosion went off in their room. Mean Nana is there to work today & they are on Spring Break so they will be helping, like it or not! Have a great Tuesday everyone!

@quiltingjaine The motel/cabins are charming but OLD. Everything in this town is old. I call it just a step above "glamping" LOL. That's only because there is (sketchy) internet & Direct TV. The rooms are dark, cozy & feel more like cabins. The town is popular because of the river that runs thru it. Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hunting hiking, etc. For those who love to gather around the bonfire, play horseshoes or grill outside under the pines its wonderful. Because its so small many small groups come & take the whole place. I love seeing them over & over and being a part of their happy memories. It's just a lot of work & worry without my husband for maintenence & with only an autistic son. Very low population & hardly any skilled labor in this area. When something goes wrong, that's when I feel the most trapped. How in the heck am I gonna get this fixed? The guest taps their toe waiting because they are used to fast city services. I hope that it can be fixed in the next few weeks!
I try to enjoy the peace & solitude of the place. The weather can be brutal here though. Lower Michigan is into spring by early April. My last snowfall is mid May. No planting until late June. Beautiful clean winters with diamonds in the snow. But LONG, cold & HARSH. I try to love it like I used to. Most days I'm content. Some days I just want back closer to a city where life is easier, and it is warmer sooner. Someday, my friend, I just may get out west. Until then, you will find me here in northern Michigan - sometimes in tears, but usually smiling.

So back again for another one. Round 71 I went back and forth between 151 and 150. I expected a pretty good whoosh all week but never saw it. I’m just staying on track and hoping for the best next week. Hoping to finally get back into the 140’s by the end of this round.
Day Weight Comment
03/24 - 150.9 so no whoosh yet. We have our weekly family meal today so hoping for the best tomorrow. Holding steady so far through the weekend. Come on 149 something!
03/25 - 153.6 and there is my Sunday family dinner gain! 2.7 pounds, uuugggh. My husband decided he was going to grill some t-bones last night and they were amazing. We also had grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes with it Then I decided I needed a couple of mini butterfingers. So the weight is well deserved, I am assuming mostly carbs and food still in my stomach. Anytime I eat steak it stays with me for a couple of days. Had a great Sunday though and back to eating clean today. Looking for that 149 sometime this round.
03/26 - 152.1 Got to love sodium and carbs. Should be back down tomorrow and back on track for a loss by Friday. Have all my meals planned for today and should stay under calories again. Pushing to see that 149 this week!

03/24 347.4. I’m a little surprised at this woosh, I’ll see if it stays. I’m certain tom is starting sometime soon and I usually see a little upswing then, but hopefully I’ll still be solidly in the 340s. My nsv yesterday was staying in calorie goal despite feeling hungry a portion of the day.
03/25 347.8 Not unexpected I had a higher sodium day yesterday and I’m not sure that I got in all my water. I have both a sick kid and a kid who fell skateboarding, she’s okay just bruised, so yesterday was a little rough and it will be a rough day today. My nsv yesterday was not having any of the snacks that my husband picked up to deal with his stress.
03/26 347.2 Looks like I’m really in the 340’s, at least for now. I’ve not only reached my goal for this month, but if this trend continues I’ll be several pounds under where I had hoped to be. My oldest is much better today and my daughter is only a little stiff from her all, so yay for all kids being back to their normal selves. My nsv yesterday was not having a single bit of the high calorie snacks that my husband got.

Weekly Goals:
1200 calories + what I work out only!
drink 3 liters of water a day
lift weights 3x and streaming spin class work out 3x
try a yoga class at a nearby gym - eek! trying new things is so awkward.
The plan!!: Planned out calories and meals for the weekdays already. Just have to follow them and meet my work out goals. We're going away to Austin kid-free Saturday night (WOO!!), so I'm trying to really crush my goals this week so I don't have to deprive myself on Saturday, (but also don't want to totally derail!!) Lol. Planning to lift weights before we leave Sat and hope to walk a lot from the hotel to offset. Planned my meals/calories for the week and for the vacay, I'm thinking about packing healthy travel snacks for the drive and trying to order alternating vodka sodas and just plain sodas or light beers when we go to bars and, (since our friend we're visiting loves barbecue) I'll try and do smoked turkey or chicken with some safer sides. Wish me luck!
Day/Weight/Comment
03/24 - Recovering from stomach bug my son shared with me (Didn't weigh in.)
03/25 - 183.3 - Survived hormone induced chocolate bowl at work freak out and almost stayed under cal goal. Tracked all (6!) pieces I ate and moved on. First TOM since starting tracking and trying not to get discouraged if my numbers go up. Also drinking extra water. Short dog walk the only exercise I felt up for.
03/26 - 184.0 - Lifted weights over lunch. Definitely feeling weak from being sick, but feel so good after working out. Signed up for my first yoga class in a couple years for tomorrow night. Excited, but def nervous too.

@MadisonMolly2017 I've never heard of Kashi flax. I'll have to look that up. Fiber is something I am not getting enough of.

Round 72 (my 2nd) Day/Weight/Comment
03/24 152.6 This makes 5.2 down since I started this challenge, and 2.8 down overnight! Now that's the week 1 whoosh I'd hoped for and never got. I exercised and ate some calories back, had my usual ice cream bar and even three squares of caramel dark chocolate yesterday! I also looked up the calories in my favorite bakery cookies and discovered to my horror that each one has over 500 calories! I used to eat several in the course of a day. Maybe I can have one occasionally on maintenance, but I am so glad I'm not blindly stuffing my face now!
I feel like tracking on MFP has revealed that holy grail of successful weight loss: moderation. I'm finally empowered to enjoy treats in moderation, guilt-free. Other big lessons so far: I must practice patience (this is all gonna go way more slowly than I'd like!), and I can't freak out when the numbers on the scale go up or plateau. It's all part of this nonlinear process.
My original goal weight for this round was 153.8, but I'm lower than that today, so I've revised the goal to be 151.8. That's only 1 lb in the next 10 days, slow and steady.
03/25 154.8 Well, it's to be expected. I may bounce up and down over the next few days. I ended the last round at 155.4, and that's probably closer to the truth. 153 still feels attainable for this round. Focusing on lots of hydration and staying in my calorie range while getting as close to my protein macros as possible.
03/26 155.6. Sigh. Okay. I ate super salty foods yesterday and I know this isn't a true reflection of what's going on. My pants feel looser, at least! My 153 goal for this round seems less likely bu the day, but there are still 7 days left. A lot can happen.

03/26 206.7 Stressed out to the max. Do really good with eating at work but lose absolute control at home. Never fails. First horse show of the year starts next Wednesday. Let’s hope my chaps fit. Ugh!
