JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ ROUND 73
Replies
-
Female, age 41, 5'6"
SW - 150.1 (starting on 3/25)
Ending weight round 72 - 145.3
UGW - somewhere in the mid-130's. Will see what's attainable when I get in the 130's
Goal for round 73 - drop 1 pound. I know the big drop in round 72 was a lot of bloat/water weight since it was my first one. I want to lose at a realistic pace for my current weight. 1 lb every 10 days is sustainable and I have a better chance of keeping it off.
4/3 - 146.2. Well, that stinks. Starting the challenge up. Wins yesterday - squeezed in a weight lifting session even though I didn’t think I would have time (traveled yesterday). Lots of areas for improvement though. Went over my calorie goal thanks to eating out and TOM cravings. Didn’t drink enough water. Goal for today - do not graze all day! I’m working from home and tend to eat all day since I’m close to the kitchen and no one else is home.
4/4 - 146.6 UGH. Wins yesterday - 45 min bodycombat class and long dog walk. That's about it. Didn't drink enough water, had a mini-binge late afternoon. Not a full on binge as I've been known to do, but enough that I went well over my calorie goal. I don't know if it's the restriction/binge cycle popping back up (full disclosure - I've had that issue in the past which is why I took a long break from MFP. After a few weeks of tracking I see it as a restriction and I rebel and binge), or if it's TOM issues, or a little of both. I'm working in the office today so hopefully I'll stick to the food I brought to work. No temptation of my own kitchen like yesterday. Will work on hydration and not bingeing today.
4/5 - 145.9 back in the right direction at least but still over last round’s ending weight. makes me nervous heading into the weekend but I hope it motivates me to focus. Wins yesterday: 45 min RPM class, long dog walk, hydrated well, did not binge, slept well. Area for improvement today - stay within calorie goal. Proud of no bingeing but I was over calorie goal a bit. Working from home again today so I need to stay away from the kitchen.
4/6 - 145.5. Trending down again so that’s good. I’m surprised actually. Wins yesterday - Zumba and a dog walk, hydrated well, slept well. I went over calories and snacked more than I should (which is why I’m surprised the number went down!). I’m going out to dinner with friends tonight. Goal is to not go overboard. Keep up with calories and water intake the rest of the day so dinner doesn’t push me too far over.
4/7 - 144.4. Hello whoosh! Surprised since I went out to dinner last night. But I stayed on plan. Wins yesterday: super hard HIIT class (cardio and weights), didn’t overdo it at a restaurant last night, enjoyed time with friends. Don’t think I drank enough water.
4/8 - 144.0. Pleasantly surprised at another drop! Lowest weight I’ve been in over a year. Wins yesterday: hydrated well, long dog walk and a yoga class, tracked all food. Goal today is to have another day like that where I fully track and stay conscious of my food choices.
4/9 144.4. Back up a little, not horrible but sad to see a little uptick. Wins yesterday: 4.4 mile run (ran for time instead of distance, so 40 minutes), pretty good hydration, got a decent night's sleep, tracked all my food. Areas for improvement: could hydrate better. And most importantly, I snacked too much and went over my calorie goal. The fatigue of tracking and that "restriction" feeling is hitting me this morning so I'm working through. I'm telling myself how much better I feel after losing these few pounds over the last month and that it will all be worth it.
4/10 - 144.2. Wins yesterday: HIIT class and a long dog walk, hit right at my calorie goal for the day. Thought I hydrated well, but I woke up really thirsty this morning so maybe not as good as I thought. Will work on more water today. I'm a little stressed about work, and I'm working from home today, so will also work on not going to the kitchen as stress kicks up.
4/11 - 144.6. Wins yesterday: slow/easy recovery run and a dog walk. Hydrated well. Tracked, was close to calorie goal only over by a small amount. Slept well. I had steak for dinner, not a huge portion but about 30 min after dinner my stomach started hurting and I was very bloated. Noticeably bloated, my stomach was bigger than normal and felt hard to the touch. I've had this before but never really bothered to try to figure out what caused it. Now that I'm tracking and paying attention, I guess it's red meat? I don't know if the small uptick this morning has anything to do with that bloating or it's just a regular fluctuation, I'm mainly typing this out here so when I go back to read I'll remember that certain foods cause issues. I'm not sure if I'll meet my 1 lb loss goal by tomorrow but I'm happy with the fact I've hung out in the 144's for several days at least.

Total challenge loss: 15 lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
04/03 - 190.9 Being very careful with portion sizes. I feel like that is what gets me in trouble the most. I’ll eat something healthy, but eat too much. I’m getting in the habit of checking to see if I’m truly hungry before eating everything on my plate.
04/04 - 190.6 - Eating on plan.
04/05 - 190.0 - Staying on plan.
04/06 - 190.4 - Ate off plan last night. Going right back to clean eating today.
04/07 - 190.2 - I’m keeping closer to plan and I feel lighter even if the scale says I’m the same weight.
04/08 - 189.9 - Going in the right direction! I ate really well yesterday. I’ve felt really good the last couple days. I’m taking magnesium malate the last 2 days and I feel a lot clearer mentally.
04/09 - 189.4 - Going in the right direction.
04/10 - 190.1 - Mini goal —> get into the 180’s. I know if I stay the course I will get there.
04/11 - 190.3 - My weight is doing a little dance. I’m going to focus on staying on plan. As long as it’s an overall downward trend it is good.

04/03 184.8 the restart woosh
04/04 183.8 the woosh continued!
04/05 182.6 one of the pluses about having kids on the spectrum is that there are worries other parents have that you don't have. Yesterday DS turned 19, legal drinking age here. We had sushi, one glass of wine and some chocolate cake then we went for a long walk. So I burned off all the cake calories, and at the end of the night I knew where he was, safe and sound in his own home talking about video games with his brother.
04/06 183.6 mea culpa - did the stress eating thing again - back on track today started with a workout
04/07 184.4 that's Ok Unexpected visit from out of town family and dinner at a french restaurant. Skipped the wine but did share DH's creme brulee (a rare indulgence and totally worth it) no more special events now until Easter.
04/08 DNW woke up late and forgot to weigh
04/09 185.4 Wrong direction! long walk with DS last night and a workout this morning so hopefully a better number tomorrow.
04/10 184.0Woke up with a cold so not sure how today will go
04/11 183.0Staying home to try and get rid of this cold - steps will be low Really proud of myself for staying on track yesterday. Will try to do the same today

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

Apr 3 - 179.8 - II am struggling to stay disciplined and determined. I lost my job in December and the stress is starting to get to me. I am hoping with the nicer weather we are expected to have this round that I will feel better about getting out and walking.
Apr 4 - 182.4 - I need to get my head in the game again, right now I’m not even playing with shoes on! I have a doctors appointment today to see what is wrong with my rib, hopefully she’ll give me the cure I need for that and I can get back to it.
Apr 5 - 180.2 I have a viral infection that affects the cartridge that attaches to the ribs. I had this in January and apparently it can take up to a year to full get rid of. I didn’t realize it was the same thing as it’s in another area on my ribs. Healthier day yesterday, but still no exercise.
Apr 6 - 181.2 - I need to get in gear. This is going in the wrong direction completely!
Apr 7 - 182.3 - I got into chips yesterday and tacos so this is expected. The sun is shining this morning, it’s supposed to hit 13 for a temp today and stay that way all week, so hopefully I can kick this cold to the curb and get out walking each day.
Apr 8 - 181.8 - had a good day yesterday and even though I didn’t feel good I went for a long walk. Now to repeat it today.
Apr 9 - 181.4 - a fair day yesterday, not the best, but not terrible. My cold is starting to get better and so are my ribs. Hopefully today I can find time for another walk.
Apr 10 - 183.0 I don’t know if this is accurate or not, my scale is really messing up.
Apr 11 - 181.4 I think this is more accurate.13 -

Round 73 (my 5th round)Round 69 TL: -3.6 pounds 360- 356.4
Round70 TL -3.6 pounds 356.4 - 352.8
Round 71 -3.8 pounds 352.8-349
Round 72 -1.8 pounds 349-347.2
I got a little sloppy last round and it showed in a lower weight loss than previous rounds. I want to nip in the bud a few bad habits that I’ve begun to fall back into so that I stay on track with my weight loss.
My goals this round:
Water!
Cut the sodium.
Tighten up my log
Weigh my food and not eyeball it
OSW: 382
RSW: 347.2
UGW: 160
04/03 346.2 Well that’s a nice start to the round. My nsv yesterday was a long walk outside. I managed 2100 steps in a single walk and will be working towards doing it twice a day by the end of the month.
04/04 347 Bounce, water retention from a late quick dinner because I forgot to plug in my crockpot. I also took my walk late. I’m sure it will drop again.
04/05 345 There’s that big drop I knew was coming. I knew it had to be and hopefully I’ll see a few more small drops this round.
04/06 345.8 Another late dinner, low water, higher sodium day.
04/07 344.4 I’m beginning to get used to this up down trend that I seem to have. Though I admit that I like the down so much better than the up. I tried moving my breakfast to a brunch and cutting out lunch yesterday. I ended up with a headache all day so I’m not sure I’ll try it again soon.
04/08. 342 I thought I would continue down, but not by this much. I expect that I’ll see a bounce back up in a day or two. If not then maybe this is all the water weight finally going. I guess I’ll see what tomorrow brings.
04/09. 341.2 I’m surprised, but happy that the trend is continuing. I’ve been sticking to my calorie goals and staying lower on sodium than before.
04/10 340.0 Another big drop, I didn’t have this happen in the beginning of my journey so I guess this is catch up. I’m also staying on track with my sodium goals and water. I won’t be surprised to see a stall or bounce up soon.
04/11. 343.4 I’m not surprised and actually a little happy to see a bounce up. It seems more accurate than the lower numbers and even if I have another little bounce tomorrow it will be a nice loss for the round.

I am now in my 4th round with all of you! I love doing this to keep me accountable. Let's keep it going everyone!
Age: 28
Location: Los Angeles, CA

SW for this challenge: 197.6
Mini GW: 192.0 to go on my very first diet break!
Ultimate GW: 141
Results
Round 70: SW 202.6 EW 197.4 (-5.2 pounds)
Round 71: SW 197.4 EW 199.6 (+2.2 pounds)
Round 72: SW 199.6 EW 197.6 (-2.0 pounds)
Day/Weight/Comment
04/03: 197.4 (A slight decrease, which is awesome! I did a core workout and made some vegetable soup with grilled cheese last night. I was so exhausted that I went to bed early. My energy level has been at a decline this week and I'm not sure why!)
04/04: 196.2 (This is a great drop! I haven't been this weight since November of 2015! I've restarted many many times, but at that time I went through a breakup in February of 2015 and lost wayyyy too much in an unhealthy way. I'm more motivated than ever and I hope it continues! Last night I did a 20 minute HIIT elliptical workout and ate some Cuban chicken, black beans and rice!)
04/05: 194.8 (I’m literally in shock! I didn’t do a workout last night and had steak with rice and peas for dinner. We also went to a celebration of life and I had a tiny bit of treats but nothing too crazy. I lost 1.8 pounds since last Friday and I’m thinking I’ve been overestimating calories? We’ll see if this trend continues since I have it set to 1.5 pounds a week.)
04/06: 196.2 (I did a 45 minute elliptical workout yesterday and I had a Chipotle vegetarian bowl that I’m regretting for lunch yesterday. Oh man that red spicy salsa!! Anyway, the hubby and I went on a date night last night to our favorite Mexican restaurant by our house. I saved half my dinner like I always do! The gain was expected. Even though I’m Mexican, those beans still bloat me up no matter what 😂)
04/07: 198.0 (Oh man! What a gain this weekend. I was on plan but I’ve been saving all my calories for the weekends and these gains are expected. I’m back to lower calories today. Last night I went to Panera for dinner and had soup and salad and did a 30 minute strength training workout!)
04/08: 198.0 (Okay body, that's enough! HahaI worked out yesterday for 45 minutes on the elliptical and I hardly sat down yesterday taking care of things around the house. It was the first time since October we tried using the AC at home and it broke! That gave me some extra sweat as we were waiting for the technician to come over! lol....so I made chicken rice soup for dinner last night but for some reason as I was cooking it, my mind was thinking about a PB&J sandwich and I had that instead with a little bit of soup.)
04/09: 196.2 (The weekend weight is dropping off thank goodness. I had a weird day yesterday. I went to the gym yesterday and it was one of the first warmer days since last year and the gym's AC was not working properly. I could hardly breathe! The shortness of breath continued and I stepped off the elliptical after 10 minutes because I didn't want to pass out. I then went home and did a core workout in the comforts of my own (now working) AC. I made chicken parm yesterday with some pasta for dinner!)
04/10: 194.8 (What a relief! I lost the weekend weight and I have 2 more days before our final day on this challenge. I would say that's a plus! Last night I did a 45 minute elliptical workout with 15 of those minutes a HIIT workout. For dinner I made a chicken parm sandwich.)
04/11: 195.6 (TOM is coming!! It should be here any day and I think this may be why I have an increase. I was so exhausted yesterday, I did not get to do a workout and I went to bed at 8pm. That's super early for me! I think it's all because of TOM, but I may be wrong. I had oven roasted pork chops, potatoes and asparagus for dinner yesterday and kept it at a deficit. I hope to still see a loss this round!)

I'm going to a wine etiquette event for young professionals tonight. I am really looking forward to it and having the wiggle room to enjoy the wine and food. I just have to remind myself it takes 3,500 excess calories to put on a pound of fat. So I have no need to worry every time I go to an event that I'm going to blow myself out of maintenance. If the rain stops early I'll go for a jog before I head out for the night

Yesterday I forgot to put my fitbit back on so no step data. And this morning I couldn't weigh first thing, as I was sleeping over at a friend's house. So the weight I posted is after a big breakfast sandwich and 3 cups of coffee. I'm surprised it's not more but I think I'm pretty dehydrated, so I'll probably see a jump tomorrow 😂. Either way I didn't put it in my trend line app because I don't want to distort the data, so no trend today. Onward and upward!

Still no trend data as I didn't sleep at home again last night and that weight is from just now (4:00pm! So again I didn't put it in my app). I cannot believe my weight is this low, but the scale has fresh batteries. And yesterday was crazy food-wise, that's why I didn't even log, although I plan on doing so later today just to keep my streak going. After the big breakfast sandwich I had steak and potatoes for lunch-dinner, then at the movies I had a whole box of junior mints, then when I got home I had a brownie sundae. I guess this is what maintenance feels like. Stable weight, with insane food variances. Today I have eaten very little which I think also contributes. It's so nice to be in a place of not having to insane in my food control and allowing for the space to enjoy life.
I feel really grateful for this group. If it wasn't for JGM10D, I wouldn't have had the courage to weigh myself today and this could have turned into a *screw it* day, where I just eat every thing. But this group not only keeps me accountable, it got me in the habit of reading the forums daily which led me to reading how the long time maintainers orient their lives.

Yay for meeting activity goals yesterday!
Now for what needs improvement: I am now well out of my goal range so I need to reorient my maintenance plan. Last week I purposely ate about 100-200 cals under maintenance to bank calories for the weekend (thinking I would have a weekend gain), but I lost weight while not tracking. So now I need to go back to making an effort to eat more. It's challenging to change my mode of thinking in terms of calories and deficit, but I don't want to lose anymore weight. Today my goal is to eat 2000 calories!

Still trying to get my weight back up to 133 so I can be in range but overall I'm happy with how I did yesterday. Today I would like to run 2 miles after work. And again I vow to eat 2000 calories!

Everything was perfect yesterday! I don't think I'm going to make my goal of running two 5K's, but I have now ran 4 separate times in one challenge which is a new best for me. Just gotta make slow incremental changes 😊. I think I need to buy ice packs to start icing my knees after running, because they still don't feel 100%.
I think I might have pizza tonight! 133 here I come 😋

I’m not sure that I could do this if we weren’t on the same page. I’m sure that you’ll figure out the key to consistency in your own journey soon.
Family and especially spouse support is a blessing indeed. Thanks, I will figure it out

Day/Weight/Comment
4/3 161.8 First day back on track officially, thanks to my husband for leading the way. It's been an emotional 2019 but I can only control myself and only change myself, so here goes! It took me 4 months last time to lose 15 lbs, lets make this even better. I know the cycle doesn't start until tomorrow, but I am tired of postponing so here I am right now.
4/4 161.8 Have my day planned out, started with a 20 minute meditation, then walked the dogs with my child. Ate breakfast and logged it, will have a light lunch and early dinner. Yesterday was an emotional throw in the towel day but I'm back on track today.
4/5 160.8 Good day yesterday, met my goals. Today's goals Meditate 20 min, walk with my child and dogs, deliver work stuff, stay on course with my eating. Grateful that I have this resource to come back to and for the accountability.
4/6 161.4 Headachey but that's good I know I am detoxing from all the sugar and empty calories I have been indulging in. Had a good day yesterday.
4/7 160.8 Got through the migraine yesterday relatively unscathed, did not resort to food to cure it, so that was a success. Today is my oldest son's birthday, we are going to Lucille's BBQ, and I am looking forward to the celebration. It's been since January that our family has been on a self imposed hibernation. Things are beginning to look a little brighter.
4/8 hiccup
4/9 163.6 oops. Back on track after 2 day hiatus.
4/10 163.0 back in the right direction. Why does it always seem to be so hard to get back on track?? DH lost 3.8 lbs this week, which I have found :-(
4/11 162.6 In spite of a visit to the peanut butter jar when I should have just gone to bed last night. New day.10 -

Weekly Goals:
1200 calories + what I work out only!
drink 3 liters of water a day
lift weights 3x and streaming spin class work out 2x yoga 1x
4/3 - 182.0 - Was home with a sick kiddo so my whole workout schedule got pushed out and I have to work out after work instead of at lunch, but I'm not skipping any of my workouts!! lifted weights last night and yoga/pilates class tonight!
4/4 - 182.6 - Stayed within my calories, but I ate late bc of yoga. Last week I had an uptick after this as well. Also focusing on drinking my water today. Lifted Weights.
4/5 - 182.7 - Still hanging around here. Waiting on my whoosh! I couldn't do any hour long walks this week due to making up hours at work. Hope to get a little walk in this evening and can't wait to get back in my normal routine next week. Think it will help a lot.
4/6 - 181.5! Woosh. Lifting weights. Maybe a streaming spin workout on the bike?
4/7 - 181.7 - Fixed up my bike and did 5 miles at the park. + Dog walk.
4/8 - 180.7 - Lifting weights at lunch and then yoga tonight.
4/9 - 180.3 - Woke up at 5:30am to ride my bike because I can't walk over lunch today. Can't believe I actually made it out of bed to workout. Lol. But the bike thing is new and fun for now, so I'm going with it. Water consumption has not been great so I'm really trying to increase that.
4/10 - 177.7 - What? Still scared to accept this, because I feel like it will just bounce back up tomorrow, but I will take it for the moment. Focused on lots of water yesterday so I'm sure that helped. I am lifting weights over lunch and will do my yoga/pilates class tonight. Body fat was at 43% when I started last month and I finally broke into the 39% mark. Hard work is paying off so I want to keep it up!
4/11 - 181.2 - Ugh. I knew it was a blip. And more than a blip it feels like a failure. And yesterday I ate more than the half piece of red velvet cake I had planned and then I kinda felt bad and stress snacked a bit over my limit yesterday evening. Gotta chill out and not worry too much. Drinking my water, tracking more vigilantly today and I'm going to keep on trucking. Hopefully lifting weights today because the power was out at the gym yesterday. If still out, I will walk over lunch. Either way I want to try to ride my bike this evening. I don't know why I get so frustrated when these things naturally bump up and down. I know better, but I still want everything to be perfect and trending down every day. I think because I get scared that I'm never really going to change or get to my goal. But I know that's not true. I've done it before and I am doing/can do it again. Ugh. Thanks for hearing my mini therapy rant. I got this.
