4/13 - 201.0 - Starting off the weekend good! Although, I wasn't the best last night and let stress get to me so may have had some rum, coke, and chocolate, so I wouldn't be surprised if that shows up in tomorrow's weigh in.
4/14 - 202.0 - Not going to complain! Now to be good and not succumb to the kids' snacks!
4/15 - 201.7 - Kept it semi in-control over the weekend! *dance*
4/16 - 200.8 - Nice trend so far Trying to stay on track as much as I can this week.. Saturday we will be going to the Renaissance Faire and I never end up eating as nice as I should; I just love scotch eggs and that's the only place I can find them!

At least I seem to be going in the right direction again. I have been doing all the right things eating within in calories and my 5:30 a.m. workouts. Maybe this is not enough water? Or muscle gain? This may sound funny, but I do feel stronger. I have noticed this week when walking from my garage to work that I feel "strong" like the strength I have built lets me walk faster. Ok, that sounds corny when I write it out . Just going to keep on keeping on and hope to see a whoosh soon.13 -

I was really happy with last round and I’m continuing a few goals
Water! I get sloppy when it comes to water
Lower sodium
Keep up with walking, maybe I can hit another 5k steps
04/13 345.2 I was out of control with my sodium yesterday and a little over calories too. Add in that after I posted yesterday I pulled a few muscles in my leg and the water weight was inevitable. I’m resting today and I’m sure I’ll see it all drop off again in a few days.
04/14 344.2 First of what I’m sure will be several drops. I have a lowish sodium week planned. If I stay on course I should be to close to 340 by end of round.
04/15 343.4 And now a little below my round start weight. Hopefully I’ll see a little more loss over the next few days.

04/15/19- 166.8 I think this is my lowest weight yet. I ate a salad for lunch yesterday, and watched my sodium intake. When I hit 165.5, that will be 40 total pounds lost. Would love for that to happen on this round!
04/14/19- 168.4 It’s okay. Went to Outback for lunch, and ate my entire baked potato. It was well worth the uptick. I was back on track today.
04/13/19- 167.6 Wow! Good start for the round!

04/12 …..191.8….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
04/13 …..191.8 ….. Busy helping nieces with funeral arrangements for my sister. Doing this all long distance although I am getting some help from my local funeral home. Memorial services at a later date. Things will be hectic for the next few days. I don’t expect a lot of progress in my exercise or diet. Just trying to hang in there. But I wish everyone lots of luck this round!
04/14 ….. 192.0….. I am going to try to stick to plan today regardless of stress & busy schedule. It is, as always, a heavy work day for me on Sunday. I’m going to take it & run with it!
04/15 …..191.8 ….. I Tried hard yesterday in spite of it all. I had several days of grab & go immediately following my sister’s death. I also ate my emotions. Lots of mistakes like being too busy to eat dinner then bingeing later at night. I was back on track yesterday as my appetite was suddenly gone so it wasn’t difficult. Yesterday’s stats: 1036 Calories In / 2375 Calories Out. 9 Net Carbs. 11,202 Total Steps & 4.04 Total Miles. IF: 20:4 due to lack of hunger most of the day & evening. Charged fitbit so I am not sure about sleep time. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I took a 28 minute moderately paced walk. More arrangements today in Tennessee from Michigan. We are finalizing much of it today, I hope. I am electronically submitting pics etc for obituary etc. I have multiple cabins to clean here at home/work. Busy day today for me but staying busy helps during such grief. I hope to stay on plan though as best I can again with my eating & exercise. I just need a minute and I will work hard on making it as healthy a minute as possible. Thanks again to everyone for the hugs & luv.
04/16 ….. 191.8….. I am still all over the place here. I ate grilled cheese & tomato soup & crackers for the first time in over a year. A big no-no in my plan. Yesterdays stats: 2070 Calories In / 2705 Calories out. 158 Net Carbs. 16,046 Total Steps & 6.84 Total Miles. IF 18:6 . 11/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 3 hours & 50 minutes waking up still exhausted this morning but unable to sleep anymore. The plus is that I managed a 75 minute moderately paced walk so that I would not totally abandon all my goals. However, I ate the grilled cheese meal after the walk, so that was disappointing. I still need a minute here. I am still really struggling with the death. If I can just hold on without a gain I will be happy. However, tomorrow is travel (including restaurant) and Thursday is a business launch party complete with food, so that coupled with my emotions is making me nervous. I am going to work hard today and take each day as they come. My emotions will settle in at some point and I will get strong. I just have to try to mitigate the damage right now, every day, as I hobble & limp along because it does feel like I’m on a hilly, curvy, muddy treacherous road dragging my heart behind me with a chain. I ‘ve been on this road before. Time does NOT heal all wounds, but it does get better. Walking toward the light here folks.

Thought it would be 169, but I shrunk, so 166 (normal BMI). Hit May 2018. Realized I needed to lose more.
Then set 155. Hit Thanksgiving Day 2018. Realized I needed to lose more.

Dear @deepwoodslady,
I took a ziplock with me yesterday (because I knew it would be a crazy day) with weighed:
Washed apple
1.5 oz of unsalted nuts
2 oz of Kashi flax cereal
1/2 oz dark chocolate
And 2 bottles of water
Sure enough, something went over by 2 hours, and I was “famished” when I got back to the car. Ate the apple -slowly. Drank 1-2 cups water. Ate 5 nuts mindfully. Drive to the nearest Starbucks & got a nonfat decaf latte (130 cal) & instead of eating my choc & the cereal (269), I got a warmed choc chip cookie (360). I ate a few more nuts. Went and did next few things.
Made it home. Ate healthy vegetable heavy dinner.
I think having a refrigerated pack of ready to eat things will be my savior in maintenance as the American on-the-go food scene is pretty hostile for us. IE the choc chip cookie. I would have been happy with my cereal and my choc, but suddenly seeing that on the shelf (I was looking for a container of yogurt), and old habits popped up. So my next step is to pull out my refrigerated bag, so I can pack a protein too!
Thinking of you. I can assure you, I promise, your grief WILL get better. Really.

quiltingjaine wrote: »@CamandJarvis You have mentioned injections several times - what are they for?
@quiltingjaine I broke my back in 2016 and required a spinal fusion. Due to the position of my back when broken, I have permanent nerve damage down both legs so I get steroid injections in my lumbar to help with the nerve pain. Makes life more tolerable. I can do most things on most days, and there are times the pain is just too much due to a flair up, even if that just means standing up out of bed. Everything is okay, but the nerve likes to be a pain (literally). I've been getting them less and less frequently which makes me hope that the nerve is finally starting to regenerate and heal but they did say if it did at all, it'd be years down the line.
The price you pay when nearly paralyzed and having to relearn how to walk, I suppose. I try to do something everyday to keep the strength up. I'm already showing further deterioration and concern is that within the next decade, I'll have to get the level above fused as well.12 -
@CamandJarvis I've had back surgery (for very different reasons than yours) and it's a long, tough recovery for sure- glad the injections help your nerve pain. I don't tolerate them well, unfortunately. I hope you can put off the next fusion as long as possible. So great that you're here on this challenge, on the path to better health!7

***VACATION ROUND***Round 74 (my 4th)***
10 DAY GOALS: Planning to (1) log everything carefully over the next 10 days with maintenance range 1700 or fewer calories (2) 12-hour fast most days (3) Try to boost TDEE with small daily movements to achieve 2000 steps daily (I'm disabled and I often get less than 1000 per day)
Age: 38
Height: 5'7"
Round 71 SW 157.8 EW 155.4 (-2.4 lbs)
Round 72 SW 155.4 EW 153 (-2.4 lbs)
Round 73 SW 155.4 EW 153.6 (+0.6 lbs)
Total challenge lost after 3 rounds: 4.2 lbs
UGW: 123
GW for this round: *Maintenance of current wight* 153-155
To aid in my maintenance goal this week while enjoying my vacation (admittedly, a food-centered one in a special place I haven't been to for over a decade where I'll be headed to some of my all-time favorite restaurants, AND there will be a birthday party), I am experimenting with calorie 'banking'- purposely eating fewer calories for a few days in order to have more in the 'bank' for other days. Over the course of the week, it should even out to 1700 max a day, my maintenance calories.
Day/Weight/Comment
04/13 153.6 Same weight for days, and that's fine, since my goal this round is simple: maintain, don't gain! Walked a lot yesterday (for me), 4616 steps, and met my calories perfectly.
04/14 152 Maddeningly, the scale kept fluctuating between 151.7 and 152, but I'm thrilled it's lower! I've been IFing for a while (16:8) and yesterday, I was starving in the morning, which is atypical. After having the usual coffee and water, the hunger wasn't subsiding one bit, so I opened my eating window early and didn't feel guilty at all, nor did I go overboard- trying out this intuitive eating thing in baby steps over the course of this long journey.
04/15 152.8 **Banking calories for vacation** Did fine yesterday for a Sunday. A fast food meal but ordered from kids menu and did well otherwise.
04/16 151.4 **Banking calories for vacation. Managed to eat a few hundred calories under yesterday as part of my calorie cycling plan to create some wiggle room for my upcoming vacation, so I hope this lower number sticks- it'll give me a better shot of not going over 153 this week.
I am trying not to be nervous about my upcoming vacation/diet break and ran across an idea in an old thread that resonated: think of it as one week to practice maintenance. Shouldn't we all practice our maintenance lifestyle occasionally? My challenges won't be 'over' at goal weight 30 lbs from now; they'll be different. I'm recasting the vacation week as "practicing maintenance" and I feel good about that as a skill to develop along this journey. Vacations like this used to be a food free-for-all, but I'm going to practice eating with a goal in mind: *maintenance*.

4/13 - 178 - 38g carbs, 32g net carbs. Carbs were: cauliflower, broccoli slaw, poppyseed dressing, fried chicken, au jus sauce.
4/14 - 177.6 - 40g carbs, 21g net carbs. Carbs were: keto seed porridge, fried chicken, pumpkin seeds, blueberry vanilla goat cheese, horseradish in tuna.
4/15 - 177.2 - 120g carbs, guessing. Visited grands, didn't take food with me for everyone. I think they were somewhat disappointed, since it seemed to be a scramble for food. Sub shop, ugh. My youngest son brought his birthday cake to celebrate with family. Carbs were: chicken tenders, a slice of the most delicious raspberry filled amaretto cake w/amaretto buttercream frosting. Yeah it was decadent. Worth every carb and calorie, but not worth the miserable stuffed feeling afterwards.
4/16 - 177 - 24g carbs, 20g net carbs. Carbs were: breading on chicken tender, salad, pumpkin seeds, salad dressing.

04/13--208.9 Hardly drank any water yesterday. Went to the 2nd dance lesson yesterday and we did the swing dance. Hubby was definitely more relaxed this week and actually said that he enjoyed himself...he liked the swing more than rumba from last week. I am starting to drop the hint that maybe we could take some swing lessons after this 4 week session is over...we'll see how that goes. Going for a run this morning and then running some errands the rest of the day.
04/14--209.2 I was so thirsty when I woke up this morning...I knew I didn't drink enough water yesterday. Ran for 3.5 miles yesterday and went to the gym this morning. I slept for 9 hours last night and could have slept for more if it wasn't for the dog plodding around this morning. Going to rewatch the last episode of GoT, hubby and I rewatched every episode over the past 3 months, and then get ready to watch the new episode tonight.
04/15--209.2 Really worked on getting my water in yesterday so that was a success. Run today and streching/foam rolling.
04/16--209.8 Ran 2.5 miles yesterday but did not do much stretching/foam rolling. Went to the chiropractor yesterday and he was also talking to me about stretching. There is one stretch that he wants me to do at least once for every hour I am at work...I've already missed the first 3 hours of my work day. Today is trainer.

04/13 - 140.7 I believe this is the TOM drop I was waiting for in the last challenge, better late than never. I also cut white carbs yesterday that I had been eating through the previous week. -1.1lbs
04/14 - 140.7 I guess it has to slow down at some point. My diet was on point and I met my exercise goal yesterday as well. I also drank a ton of water yesterday (12cups). Not sure why the stall. Will see what tomorrow brings.
04/15 - 140 I did weigh in 3 hours later than normal so might be a little off but progress nonetheless.
04/16 - 140.7 I thought it might be up a little because of yesterday’s late weigh in possibly skewing numbers but I didn’t think I’d be back up where I was the day before. I have been doing a lot of strength training, maybe I’m retaining water. Either way I’m still on track. NSVs are abundant. I look much better in clothes than I did when I weighed less. I am also seeing noticeable changes in my strength and muscle mass. Hopefully I’ll see a drop on the scale tomorrow but either way I’m doing good! 💪🏻

04/14 185.8 I was very suprised to see this number, this was the first time I've ever not gained on vacation! Probably has something to do with the fact we were hiking between 4-8 miles almost every day while I was gone!

Yesterday: 🚶♀️🏃♀️🥊🧘🍫🍷
This round is going to be tough. Two weekends including Easter, when I'll be going back to London to pack up our house for the move while catching up with friends and a desperately needed date night with DH.
I'm reinstating some moderate goals, but left some out that I know I won't be managing this round.
R73 EW: 71.7kg
Sat 04/13 71.5kg - 🚶♀️13k🍷 2300+cals in, 650 fitbit adjust, 8-900over
Picking up new car, yay! Steps will probably be quite low today, 2hr train ride to car, meet SIL and a couple of friends for lunch, then 2.5hr drive back home, dinner out...
Sun 04/14 - 71.5kg 🚶♀️8k🍷 didn't log cals, 315 fitbit adjust
I have a car! This is so exciting. It will negatively impact on my steps, but it also means I save 30mins each way to work, so I can start my morning runs again. And overall a new way of living 😊🚗
Yesterday wasn't too bad foodwise, a few road trip snacks (easter eggs) and ice cream after dinner. I estimated very generously, so cals might well have been lower.
Today, went for brunch, but very civilised, then Ikea before I dropped off my SIL at the airport. I didn't eat much, but had a few more Easter eggs - to finish them before the new week.
Mon 04/15 71.0kg 🚶♀️10k 🏃♀️2k 🧘🍷 1422 cals in, 447 fitbit adjust, 315 deficit
What a nice surprise this morning! Day was good food-wise, went for a brief lunch time walk and a 2k run - I really need to do some work to get back into running...
Tue 04/16 71.3kg no goals achieved, oops
Dinner with work, it was tapas style dinner but loads of different cuisines. I just estimated 1000cals for it.
I only did 3000 steps, this is my new reality, driving to and from work, plus no time for a lunch walk... Definitley don't want that to be the norm.

04/13 – 140.5 – Last Saturday in the office for me until next January! I will try to avoid the mindless stress snacking today, but I’m taking advantage of our last catered lunch. Have a good weekend everyone!

04/13 - 194.6 Waiting patiently for it to drop... 🚶🏻♀️
04/14 - 194.2 Tomorrow is the last day of one of the long-term challenges I’m in. I’d love to see a new low, or at least the one I caught a glimpse of last week! 🤞🏼
