Hey all, this seems so silly to ask but I need legitimate help with what to eat. My family has always been unhealthy eaters. Even as kids my parents made things like pasta, hamburger helper, fried chicken cutlets with mashed potatoes or had fast food like pizza or McDonalds. I feel like I never actually learned whats healthy, I honestly don’t think my parents even know. Trying to lose weight and break the cycle of being unhealthy for my children. But I feel lost on what constitutes as a healthy breakfast, a healthy lunch, or a healthy dinner. Bf growing up was cereal with milk during the week and pancakes with bacon or bagels on the weekend. Lunches were cold cut sandwiches with chips and soda/juice. I honestly don’t even know where to start relearning. Any tips or resources are so appreciated!
TIA

The foods that you listed aren't necessarily unhealthy. Some are calorie dense and might have to be limited. I eat pasta several times a week. I usually roast my potatoes and saute my chicken to add to my pasta or rice meals. I eat a lot of vegetables and fruit. I have found that I can eat more and feel fuller.
This is a site that I use often. She gives the calorie info and has lightened up her recipes.

You might can get some ideas.
Oh and a sandwich for lunch is just fine.
Just make sure that everything fits in to your calorie goals.4 -
What do you like to eat? Which fruit and vegetables do you like? You could take adult cooking classes, those are fun to learn new ways to prepare foods and introduce you to foods you have never eaten before.
Also, you can order food from Home Chef, Hello Fresh or any of those online meal kits. It's kind of fun. In my kit this week was chayote. I see them in the grocery store but never tried them.2 -

The MFP default goals can also be a good place to start. Many of us look at the protein, fat, and fiber goals as minimums to be reached or exceeded while staying at our calorie goal.3 -
Do you know how to cook and follow recipe? I love sharing healthy recipe on my page. Add me up. 😀1
