I am in for another round, the last round towards the end I got sick and things got all crazy. I am starting the round off with being sick so hopefully can push forward here.
This is my goal from another group - May 1st – 195 – (group challenge – 25lbs). I am not feeling confident but will be pushing forward as much as my body will allow.

Back to work after a long weekend, starting my logging again today after a little 3 week hiatus, down just over a pound during that period so I am quite pleased with that.

I am into the last week of my StepBet Challenge - woohoo. My food logging was pretty accurate yesterday probably hit around maintenance and was a little low on protein, haven't had a chance to do any meal prep this week yet as have things on after work every night. So just doing what I can to stay at a small deficit over the week.

Feeling a bit exhausted this week, I don't normally socialise too much during the week, I prefer to get my exercise and food prep done on these evenings, however, I've had stuff on every night this week, which is quite unusual and it's definitely taking it's toll on me with both food choices and exercise. Looking forward to a much quieter week next week.

Thank kitten it's Friday, even though it was a 4 day work week, it feels like it's been the longest week ever. I have a rowing race over the weekend which has been postponed from Sat to Sun thanks to Storm Hannah which is a bit of a blessing as it means I can have a quiet night tonight and a bit of a lie in, get caught up on some housework and do some food prep.

Weight is up quite substantially after the weekend however, I have started strength training again (feeling DOMs) and did a 10km rowing race over the weekend, my first time in Stroke (Setting pace/steering the boat) which is arguably the toughest position in the kind of boat we row, got sunburn too despite wearing factor 50 - stupid reflective water! Ate a few more carbs too. ALSO....Won my step bet - profit is around $8 plus my original $40 back woohoo.

Going to set some non-scale goals for May (starting next week as away in London for the weekend).

• Strength Training at least 3 times per week
• 2 Litres of fluids per day
• 1 jog or hike per week

Made a good start on getting back into the swing of my Strength Training, did a workout on Saturday and another one last night after work.

Shark week has arrived a few days early so had unexpected carb cravings which I normally know to adjust for which messed me up a little. Explains why I was so grouchy at the weekend. Got to love PMT.

04/23- 327.8- I have MCAS and woke up in a flair this morning, swollen and rashy, so I’m surprised the scale went down at all, but I’m glad it did.
04/24- 327.8- this is a frustrating moment. I was soooooo good about foods, sodium, getting my water and even walking. I know that it’s fine that the scale doesn’t move but it just feels bad.
04/25- 328.8- if this is some cosmic test, I’m not feeling it. I stayed in my calories, I got my water in. I’m so frustrated and I don’t understand why I’m stuck in this limbo.
04/26- 325.2- yesterday was a bad day, and I went over my calories and had pie so I was sure that today would be an up day on the scale, but no! I am really glad to see the number move back to doing better today!
04/27- 328.2- this is so frustrating. I was so good about my calories and sodium and water, so this is a real downer.
04/28- 329.4- doing what I’m supposed to and still having to watch all my progress disappear is making me wonder if it’s worth it.
04/29- 328.4- I didn’t meet my water goal for yesterday, I snacked after 8 pm, and I didn’t measure my dinner. And here I am, finally a tick downward. Let’s see if this trend can continue *fingers crossed*

04/29 - 205.4 - So far so good. Looks like my cooking spree this weekend is going to be really helpful for getting me through the week for breakfast and lunch.

04/30 - 204.7 - Today was a bit of a struggle for me. I planned and cooked this past weekend knowing that I wouldn’t have time to prep AIP/Paleo breakfasts and lunches. What I failed to do was figure out dinners for the week. I find that I am getting home starving and have no idea what I can make that is fast, easy and AIP/Paleo compliant with what I have in the house. I have made a few small slips, but overall I have managed to get through the day. I will need to allocate time this coming weekend for meal planning, shopping and cooking with all 3 major meals in mind.

05/01 - 205.4 - Up today and not particularly happy about it. I have been trying so hard to follow my AIP/Paleo protocols, but they are not particularly weight loss friendly. My meals are much “healthier” than they were before, but I am routinely going over my calorie allowance by a couple hundred calories a day. I am worried that I may not be able to both lose weight and follow my protocols at the same time.
Sorry for the rant, I am just feeling very frustrated right now. I don’t want to have to choose between one or the other. I really want to be able to do both.

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – but I am finding it difficult!

Round 72 I saw my lowest weight since September last year, shame I just nudged up again on the last day . Never mind, this is a new day and a new challenge, so lets rock it !! Over all I'm heading in the right direction, just need to keep going.

04/25 132 – an hours yoga class plus 10.88 miles walked yesterday which means I hit my first 1000 miles of the year.



04/26 133.6 – Oh man!! Went over the top yesterday on calories, carbs & fats . Babysat 13 month grandson, met up with daughter-in-law and baby granddaughter for lunch & had an enormous piece of carrot cake; why oh why did I not take half home for my DH? It's the old thing for me, if it's put in front of me I can't say no !!! And weather stopped us getting out for a walk . Must have a textbook day today !!!

04/27 132.4 - Well I did have a very good day yesterday; walked just over 10 miles, ate back less than half of extra exercise calories earned, all macros in green ! 97 oz water.
04/28 132 – Not much movement yesterday, it was a family day, an hour and a half travelling each way and rain kept us indoors, but good quality time.
04/29 132 – just short of 11 miles walked yesterday and a good hour and a half in the garden generally tidying, planting, dead heading etc.
04/30 132 – almost 9 ½ miles walked yesterday
05/01 131 – Hurray, let it stick this time !! 9¾ miles walked yesterday. I've been fighting off a cold for the last few days, but last night it took over me with a vengence , I dosed myself up and took to my bed early. This morning I got up and had what I can only describe as a terrible sweat when I was in the bathroom – my dressing gown was soaking wet. I just had to take a shower, I'm hoping that was the peak and that it'll subside now, but an easier day ahead for me today.
05/02. 131.4 - no walking 😅, just rested and tried to get better for childminding baby grandson, but did keep within calories.

1.4 pound loss overall this round so I am pleased. See you all in the next round x.

04/23 – 142.5 – Heading back down after the holiday weekend.
04/24 – 142.5 – I did not sleep well at all last night. I was up 4 times going to the bathroom, so I actually expected to be lower this morning. I’ll be drinking a lot of water today, but will probably limit the amount I drink this evening.
04/25 – 142 – I slept great last night and kept my food on point.
04/26 – 141 – Just in time for the weekend!

04/29 – 144.5 – Very high sodium weekend including 2 days of sauerkraut. It’s been a couple months since my weight has trended this high. I’ll eat at weight loss calories this week and drink plenty of water to reverse this trend before it gets out of hand. Staying accountable by posting here is what is going to make the difference in keeping off the weight I lost last year.
04/30 – 143 – I stuck to 1200 calories yesterday and drank my water.
05/01 – 143 – I’m glad I didn’t bounce up a little. Sticking with the plan today. Happy May!!!

04/29: 170 Day 1. I've done this group before with success. I've fallen off the exercise/eating healthy train hard. Gained back what I have lost numerous times. Starting again today. Looking forward to seeing whose in this group and reading daily posts for motivation!

04/30: 170.6 Ate late at a pizza party scout event. Not great options. Ate as sensible as I could. Woke up bloated. Planning out meals for the rest of the week. My husband is gone for the next 10 days for work so I always find it super easy to eat very healthy meals that he may not like as much!

05/01: 168.2 Happy to see this. It was another late dinner and busy day yesterday. I've been balancing work, PTO, kids after school activities and other obligations this week and next. It "should" ease up after next week. Trying to stay on track and find time to exercise will be a challenge but I'm committed!

05/02: 167.0 There is nothing like the first few days of eating at a deficit and not stuffing myself full of Easter candy! Water weight moving on out. I know this rate of loss will slow up as it should with my goal of 1 pound a week deficit. Busy day ahead with work and dance and baseball after school. Dinner planned out which is clutch!

Glad to be back here! I ate so much over the weekend and miraculously didn't gain anything. I think I may have created a new weight set point! Hopefully! Either way I've been back to logging since yesterday, back to doing what works 😁

Feeling super lathargic the last two days, which is bad because I'm a full time nanny. You can't phone that in. It's hard to tell if it's metabolic or related to depression (i.e. premenstrual dysphoria; T.O.M. is coming up). Also I haven't been working out at all, and maybe that is making me conserve more energy??? Idk, I'm gonna do a 1 mile jog before work and see if that helps.

Yesterday was great! I went for a mile run and did my best pace since starting again, 9 min/mile. I also did some yoga. It feels good to get back on the movement train. But today my back muscles are sore. I need a massage 😂

Yesterday I had a NSV, I was browsing Facebook around lunchtime and someone posted about wanted taco Bell and then all of the sudden I really wanted some taco Bell crunchy beef tacos. I realized that while attempting to achieve my goal weight I had been super strict when it came to fast food, but now that I'm securely at the low end of my range why am I still avoiding it? Could it be unhealthy anxiety? So I decided to prelog 3 crunchy tacos and guess what? They were only ~500cal, the same as my lunch usually is now. So I did it, I went over to taco Bell and had 3 crunchy tacos for lunch and guess what? It was awesome and satisfying.

My weight is up a pound but my treat is still exactly the same, I love maintenance! Yesterday I decided to do a pretty difficult hike by myself mid-day and it was awesome! There were hardly any other hikers out so it really felt alone. Especially when I got to the top. I suspect my weight increase today is just water from me taxing my muscles so much yesterday.

Weight is continuing upward but my trend is holding steady ☺️
I still haven't gotten T.O.M. and it was starting to really bother me. I am super regular at 27 or 28 days, and we are now at day 34. So I took a test and hallelujah 🙌 I'm not pregnant! I just need to hold out til my menses gets here, but at least I'm no longer freaking out.

Yesterday was really rough. After my post I started my T.O.M. (finally!!!) and was feeling really snacky. When I went to visit my mom's booth at the craft fair she had a big bowl of salt water Taffy to luer in patrons and it was an irresistible impulse to help myself while I watched her booth so she could use the restroom. That was at 9:30 a.m. and that kind of set the tone for my day. I ended up doing to much unrestrained eating and drinking. It kind of scared me. I don't want to go back to that. I almost made myself throw-up, something I haven't done in three and a half years. I decided to google how much fat can you gain in a single day of bingeing and this article popped up and it was exactly what I needed to see.

I had a fear of getting on the scale this morning. I actually stayed in bed much longer to avoid the scale. Because I knew the second I got up I'd have to weigh so I could have my wakeup water. I always wake up super thirsty, drinking about a pint to a liter straight away so I have to weigh myself first to insure we don't have water as a confounding variable in scale reading.
I still have no idea why my weight went down. It really shouldn't have with all the carbs I consumed. Ok well stay tuned to see if my body bounces up tomorrow or the next day 🧐
My final thoughts after that super long stream of consciousness: holy Hannah my trend line sure is holding steady! That's super neat!

Yesterday was good but way over calories. I went on a date to a delicious Mexican place and ordered the carnitas plate, and they brought us complimentary churros, so I had one! I'm excited to be in a new month. I'm going to restart my personal daily yoga challenge. I'll report back tomorrow.

There is my post menses whoosh. I heard someone in the maintenance forum say the only weight they really record for comparison is the one from the day after their menses ends, as they see that as their "true" weight. It's when weight will be the lowest due to hormone fluctuations. So that is just something to note for the future. My weight this time last month was 132.8, so I am a little bit lighter.
(ps. I did do about 20 min of yoga yesterday but it was a struggle!)

05/02 - 156.1 - So up to end this round, but I think my body has found a happy place. I can easily maintain at around 156 without trying. I definitely expected to be around 160 after this week so I'm happy with this maintenance area right now. The problem is, I need about 16 more pounds off before I think I'm ready to really maintain! Gotta start really focusing and eating better. And ensure I'm getting my water. I had 66oz but I always aim for 75oz or half my body weight (approx).One day at a time.

04/23- Starting off on a drop which makes me nervous because that means I have to really work to stay on track to end at or below this weight (hit this weight 3 times now, always end up higher. Think its usually a fluke). TOM is coming this week, though, so hopefully it'll show itself and disappear quickly so I can see actual weight and what's going on (: AND AND AND I'm only 0.6 lbs away from my 10lb loss which means my tattoo may have been a bit early, but wanting to show it off has been great motivation for me to keep going. Gotta get that confidence! Only 2.5lbs away from my post-surgery army weight. 10 more pounds and I'm at the top of the range for my pre-surgery army weight and high end of goal. So much happening!
04/24 - what is this?! I double checked. Especially weird given TOM will be here any day and I usually gain during that time. I won't complain but I'm not holding a lot of hope (but still a little bit I'll hold on to) it'll stick. Maybe this is the whoosh from last round finally hitting

04/26- There it is. TOM hasn't arrived yet (slightly odd but it does like to be late sometimes) so I'm assuming this is a combination of TOM and not enough water yesterday. I don't feel super bloated and my stomach seems flatter (though nowhere near what it was on Monday but better than my "normal") so I'll take that as a good sign this is temporary. I have my first baseball game tonight and a murder mystery dinner tomorrow night. Let's see how I do

04/29 - Had a crazy weekend and I'm sure I gained something but curious as to whether I lost the TOM weight. Stayed at my boyfriend's last night so no scale for me this morning. Big storm came through and his PTSD kicks in so he asked me to stay at his so he can stay grounded in reality. Ended up working out because I had some really bad nightmares myself so having him close by to remind me I'm safe helped a lot. Nervous for weigh in tomorrow but ready today with salad and some grilled trout he made us last night. Hopefully I can get my water intake up because it was HORRIBLE this weekend and always takes a couple days to get back up.
04/30 - No Scale Once again, no scale. Stayed at boyfriend's due to another storm rolling through and boy am I thankful he knows how to calm me down. Woke up to the house shaking from thunder (I was dead to the world. So sleepy all day) and it scared the life outta me. I love storms, but I was in too deep a sleep not to be startled. I'm not sure what's happening tonight since I'm going to meet him and the kids for dinner in town. Guess we shall see. Also supposed to storm all day.

I'm a little bloated today but I had rice with dinner and I'm sure that's gotta be it. He grilled chicken with bell peppers last night. (Just another reason to go to his -- he's got a grill and has to cook for kids anyway. I get too lazy to cook and have yet to go grocery shopping). Hoping this is just a blip. Plus, spent about 3 hours outside with his kids and the neighbor's kids playing catch and tag and other fun games. Definitely got activity in.
05/01 - Another night away from home. Had a huge lunch yesterday with Fire Brigade at work (didn't know that was going on) and then met the man and the kids for dinner which I didn't eat much at all because I was still full from lunch. Have to go home tonight unless something crazy happens just because I need clothes for work, I only packed 2 days worth of stuff to take over there. Plus, sleeping in that extra 45 minutes at my house sounds fantastic. Its an hour and 15 from his house to work but only 25 minutes from mine. Guess tomorrow will tell how bad these last few days of not weighing have done me in. Doesn't help that I'm bloated to all get out and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what's causing it. Hopefully that doesn't impact my weigh-in. Got a good lunch today (as long as I can avoid the food truck at work) and I've got a few light, healthy things at home for tonight. Plus, water water water. I'm hit and miss this week with it.

Round four, back for more! I have another challenging round ahead of me. I'll be taking my high school students on their first multi-day trip right in the middle of this round and I'm also expecting my TOM at the same time. That means water retention and high sodium food choices for several days. I plan on being more diligent tracking my water, getting at least 10,000 steps everyday, and I'm aiming for a 1 lb weight loss to get myself back to where I was at the end of Round 73.

04/23 184.6 lb Yesterday was a great start to this round! I drank 45oz of water and 22oz of non-calorie drinks, walked 13,645 steps, and kept within my calorie goals. We even went to Red Robin for dinner and I got salmon instead of the usual burger and fries. It was tasty, if not a little too salty. More water planned for today as it's the boyfriend's night to provide dinner and it usually is not particularly healthy.
04/24 184.6 lb I walked 13,218 steps, drank 30oz of water and 34oz of non-calorie drinks and kept within my calorie goals again. I'm getting anxious about the high school trip. I expect it to go well; I've taught most of these students for the last five years and know them very well, but I keep thinking of the phrase, "One kid, one brain. Two kids, no brains." We have 23 kids going on this trip.
04/25 183.6 lb Yesterday I had 14,529 steps tracked, 30oz of water and came in under calorie goals in preparation for our band trip. We boarded the bus at 6:30 with no issues and are on our way to Philadelphia!
04/26 Travelling, no scale. I tracked 13,415 steps, drank about 30oz of water, and went about 700 calories over, which isn't too bad for restaurant food all day. The students are behaving well and our day is packed with museum visits and musical experiences. They better sleep well tonight to be ready for our competition tomorrow.
04/27 Travelling, no scale. I hate the "Done" button in the app. I always hit it first instead of "Post Reply" and wipe out my response. I tracked 10,115 steps, drank 65oz of water, and made sure my food choices weren't all garbage. They weren't great, but it could have been worse. We're competing this morning and then spending the rest of the day in the theme park! I love roller coasters! 🎢
04/28 Travelling, no scale. The band received an "excellent" rating at competition yesterday! I tracked 22,133 steps, drank 50 oz water, and rode four roller coasters.
04/29 183.6 lb Super pleased with today's check-in. I walked 20,196 steps yesterday wandering around NYC with the students. Water was okay with about 40oz, but I'm feeling pretty thirsty today so I don't think it was enough. I have no idea about calories; breakfast was hotel food, lunch was a burger and fries, and dinner was a stromboli from a highway rest stop. I'll be very curious to see where the scale goes in the next few days as I get back into my routine.
04/30 182.6 lb Calories were low yesterday to help offset the last few days of overeating. I drank 30oz of water and 32oz of non-calorie drinks. 12,042 steps were tracked and I was able to watch the latest GOT episode and watch Avengers Endgame so my students don't accidentally share any spoilers with me. They were very good yesterday, but I can't expect them to not talk about it all week.
05/01 181.0 lb I tracked 12,384 steps, drank 30oz of water and 24oz of non-calorie drinks, and just barely went over my calorie goals. I was able to take the dog for a long walk before tidying the house for a scholarship meeting and after a late dinner fell asleep on the couch at 10PM. I'd like to maintain this new low, so I'll be careful with my dinner/beverage choices tonight at trivia.
05/02 181.0 lb I'm very pleased that I maintained this weight! I walked 15,009 steps, drank 45oz of water and 24oz of non-calorie drinks, and met my calorie goals. 4.6lbs were lost during this round, with 10lbs overall since the start of this challenge and I'm very much looking forward to Round 76!

04/24: 134.6 / -2.2 / 15,277 / I’m guessing yesterday was artificially high, because I’m fairly certain I didn’t lose 2.2 pounds over night. I did good yesterday, but not that good.

4/23 145.3. Still have a nasty cough so not able to exercise yesterday. Did better with my food choices, although I did dip in to my daughter’s Easter basket. Happy to see a drop and hope it continues. Can’t wait until I can get moving again.

4/24 - 144.6. Still sick, went to doctor yesterday and got some meds to help with the cough. Hoping that helps, not resting is really hard! Wins yesterday: seeing the doctor, tracked food and stayed within calorie goal, hydrated well, took an easy walk with the dog. Hoping to be more active today, starting to go a little stir crazy from the lack of movement.

4/25 - 145.1. Slowly feeling human again. Not happy about the gain but my body is all out of whack due to illness so I didn’t know what to expect. Wins yesterday: slow run/walk, hydrated well, meds helping me feel better. I was bummed about this number going up until I noticed that today is one month since I started tracking and I’ve lost 5 lbs. That is a healthy, sustainable loss and if I could lose 5 lbs a month I’ll be at goal 2 months from now. Feeling more positive after that.

4/26 - 145.1. My body and my mind are stuck! Wins yesterday: long walk with dog. That's about it. Still not sleeping thanks to this cough that likes to pop up at night. Can't lay flat (I do have a prescription cough med that I got but it's not helping the nighttime/laying flat issue). Being tired typically leads to bad decisions. TOM coming in a few days so I'm super hungry. Goal for today is to regroup and plan for the weekend. My daughter has a 2-day softball tournament so we won't be home at all Sat/Sun. Need to pack my snacks and bring plenty of water, and be very mindful when we eat out. I don't know that I'll be able to fit in a workout Saturday, Sunday is a possibility. I don't want these to turn in to excuses but rather just things that are part of my day that I will work around. Happy Friday to all!

4/27- had to get up really early today and completely spaced on weighing. Oops! Will check in tomorrow.

4/28 -145.5. Got mad at myself for a minute today. Then I actually thought about what is going on. I’ve been sick so way less movement this week (today is the first day I feel completely back to normal, yay!). The meds I’m on have backed me up (TMI I know, but it’s a thing going on). TOM due any day now. Thinking about this I realized I’m doing just fine! I’ll see the downward trend again soon.

4/29 - 144.8. Wins yesterday: hydrated well, long dog walk. Grocery shopped and meal planned. Tried to get my house back in order after a week of illness and high stress at work. Doing my best to get back in my routine this week and will hopefully see some drops. (also I swear I posted earlier but don't see my post. Guess I didn't hit post reply? Hopefully I didn't double post).

4/30 -145.3. TOM due today, not unexpected. I tend to fluctuate a good bit the few days before. Yesterday was a good day so I'm not upset about it. Wins yesterday: first real workout in a while, 4 mile run. 3 miles walking with the dog. Hydrated well. Tracked food, over my calorie goal but still in a deficit based on my activity. Goals today - stay the course. TOM fluctuation should be over soon and I'll see where I land. Hydrate lots and keep tracking food.

5/1 - 145.1. I'm all over the place with my mindset this challenge. Yesterday I was ok with the weight as I could clearly see all the challenges over the last 10 days. Today, I'm frustrated again. Nothing I can do now but move forward. Was hoping for a loss this 10 days but it was a bust. But, onward. Wins yesterday: HIIT class (first time in two weeks, it was so good to be back but TOUGH), and walked 6 miles. Hydrated well. Grazed too much, I think I was in a deficit based on my activity but I probably ate too many exercise calories back. Still having a little trouble um, getting things moving (TMI sorry!) so trying to figure that out too.

5/2 - 145.9. WHAT? I am baffled. No idea why it's so high. Wins yesterday: bodycombat class and 3 mile walk. Thought I hydrated well. Tracked food mostly, I did graze a bit with snacks but I didn't think I went over calorie goal. Tightening up tracking today, every tiny morsel will go in. Feeling really down and low about this. I know that I wasn't able to fully participate in this challenge due to illness, but I've been back on track (or so I thought) for a few days. I had a bit of a sugarfest yesterday, but am back on track today. I did go for a nice 3-mile walk along the St. Joseph River on the Indiana Native Tree Path, which is just beautiful. Today is chilly and rainy, so I'm off to the Y in a few minutes. Teach my final Writing Your Memoir class this evening - I'll be happy to have Monday evenings free but will miss the students - it's been a wonderful small class. But more time to get outdoors, put in my new garden, walk walk walk, and write my own stuff. Yay summer (she says, looking out at the 40F rainy gloom....but flowers!
