Eating five times a day would put me over my calories. Also a single piece of fruit as a meal would never hold me over for anything.
Snacking is not terrible so long as it fits your daily calories. Snack or not snack, whichever works for you.
Protein is definitely a good choice, both for muscle maintenance and feeling satisfied. However some people feel full on specific amount of fat or carbs. YMMV.
The body is always burning calories, constantly burning and storing energy. Exercise is great for a boost but is also great for just overall health. Do what you enjoy. Weight lifting is just as good as aerobic exercise.
Sleep is definitely important but again, the body is always burning and storing fat.19 -
A banana or an apple does NOT constitute as a meal...it is a snack 🤣 Which you say to avoid. Also neither are heavy on protein but you emphasize hitting that particular macro over others.
Eating 5 times a day is absolutely not a guaranteed formula for success. You can eat 6 times a day or 1...all that matters is your personal satiation and calorie levels.
You have decent points but you seem to be stuck in a one size fits all mentality. I think you’ll find the best “tip” for weight loss is encouraging others to find what fits their lifestyle. Whether that means low carb, IF, intuitive eating...there’s always a unique approach for someone.
The ONLY tip that matters for weight loss: Eat fewer calories than you burn. The end!15 -

you say to eat more high protein foods, then say protein will make you fat??
all this advice may be what you follow, but is totally unnecessary for weight loss.12 -
Everyone already IS beautiful.
I don't agree with any of that original post other than, "Keep exercising." That's good.11 -
I like the sleep part. Not because it's "burning fat," but because many people underestimate the physical and mental benefits of the proper amount of quality sleep.
The rest is all subjective. Exercise is good but not physically possible for some people. Food timing and macro splits are highly individual. It's not important to me to have an ideal body, just a healthy one that does what I need it to do. True beauty resides within.5 -
Sleep is about the only recommendation that i agree with...
re: HIIT what many people call HIIT isn't truely that - its more like interval work8 -
There is no one right answer for how people lose weight. The only requirement is a calorie deficit. How a person creates that deficit is completely up to them.
How I lost weight:
1. Eating 3 to 5 times a days, depending on the day.
2. Not prohibiting any food item. Trying to cut chocolate, ice cream or cheeseburgers completely out of my diet is a sure path to a binge for me.
3. Pushing breakfast back as late as possible. As soon as I eat, it's like it "starts" my hunger for the day, so the longer I can wait before I eat, the better.
4. Hitting my protein goals.
5. Staying within my calorie target mostly (but not freaking out when I went over once in awhile).
6. Lifting heavy things because it's fun.
7. Prioritizing sleep (mostly because my alarm goes off at 3:15 to go to the gym).
ETA: Thought of another thing.
8. Not creating too big of a calorie deficit. That causes binge issues for me. The lowest I will take my calorie goal when trying to lose is 1700. Maintenance calories for me is around 2400.7 -

How I lost weight:
*snipped for brevity*
How I lost weight and stabilized blood sugars (T2Dm)
1. Eating 4-6 times a day but staying withing my calorie target most days
2. Ate breakfast and a bedtime snack every day
3. Prioritized protein
4. Stayed between 120-150 grams of carbs per day with at least 30 of them fiber grams
5. Did some movement every day. Swimming laps 3 x a week and walking the other days
6. Did not eliminate any foods (well, except bananas and fish but I eliminate those anyway)
7. Made sure I got enough sleep and it was regular

Reads a lot like a fitness magazine article, right down to the lack of evidence behind its suggestions.12

yeah, it is the key to have a healthy life.2 -
I can get behind exercise and sleep on that list ... two of my favourite things to do.
Now if only I had the time.1 -

so sorry to hear that, i a new to workout, maybe i need more tips from you.2 -
Love your tips. I just wanted to add - cut the sugar intact. I noticed all these “healthy” cookie, muffin etc recipes all have sugar. Cut them out completely and only have the cake on very special occasions. What a difference it will make. I feel better and look better. I still crave the sugar. I turn to the natural sugar in fruit. Frozen grapes are my favorite. Thank you and wishing everyone a healthy life.
