Hey I'm trying to continue to gain muscle while dropping fat. I have about 50 lbs to go. I have been a little bit of gains. I want to try to speed up my fat loss but also gain muscle faster if possible.

Muscle gains during fat loss are likely to be modest (you'd be trying to add weight (muscle) and subtract it (fat) at the same time, which is tricky). If you're substantially overweight, and new to weight training, your odds are better, especially if you do a well-designed progressive weight training program, eat adequate protein, and keep your weight loss slow (small deficit).

The good news is that strength training is always valuable, and that you can at least keep at least as much as of your current muscle as possible (overweight people tend to have a bit more than normal-weight people of similar fitness). You still need adequate protein, and relatively gradual weight loss, ideally.

Patience is going to be important!

    Best wishes!

Recomp is generally done at or around goal weight and maintenance calories - you have a long way to go to goal weight and need to cut calories significantly to lose the excess 50lbs.

Faster weight loss will hinder not help muscle gain so choose your priority.

Suggest you keep a sustained and suitable calorie deficit and keep training.

Thanks! I started increasing protein but I think I'll try make sure to have enough. I think I will try to focus on losing wait slower instead of quick. Also even though I'm lifting a lot now I'll probably increase the weight. Thanks!!

Ahh that's actually news to me. I guess I'll focus on losing weight consistently. I'll make sure I'm trying several times a week. Thanks! Appreciate the support. GL.
