It's mostly when people mispronounce words...especially these, my Big Three pet peeves.
chipotle (chipol-tay is the worst mispronunciation)
supposedly (NOT "supposably"...argh!)
voluptuous (people always wanna add an "m" in the middle, like it's volumptuous)6 -

How about 'bruschetta' if you're not Italian! Some words I know I horribly mispronounce, but I think if I tried to say it properly, it'd be waaay worse!!

Confession over here, I was in an adult spelling bee recently and one of my biggest competitors spelled voluptuous with an "m" and that was glorious for me.

My hubs loves to mispronounce words on purpose and it drives me up the wall. His favorites are: salmon (saul-min), jalapeno (jall-uh-peno), and phone (pah-hone). The other day he was looking for cinnamon and he asked the associate where the "syna-mon" was. My eye roll was so hardcore it almost got stuck there.5 -

Back in the 90s there was a car called the Expresso (I think it was a version of the Neon?) and I think that only worsened the problem.2 -
