UGH, weekend killed my efforts!

I did so well last week. Lost a pound in 4 days. Then, Friday and Saturday drank like a fish. Well, a bottle of white wine each day, over a long period of time. Hanging out by my pool. Stepped on the scale yesterday. That pound was back on. It is amazing what alcohol can do that fast! Any thoughts??? By the way, I continued to log calories, even the wine and I was not that much over. What the heck? Is it all of the sugar?

I have the same problem. But, don't feel like your efforts are killed. Just get back on track.3

Water weight. Weight of food in your digestive system, if you ate more than usual.7

Sounds like you didn't really overdo it that much at all! Read this and relax: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10603949/big-overfeed-ruins-everything-nope/p1
Also, your weight can fluctuate by several pounds for several reasons. Read this TOO: http://physiqonomics.com/the-weird-and-highly-annoying-world-of-scale-weight-and-fluctuations/

A pound either way over a day or 2 means nothing; it's only the trend over a long period of time that matters. Alcohol typically causes some water retention. Your fat loss depends on how many calories you were over your goal for the week. If you are set to lose 1 lb/week, you would have needed to drink 3500 calories to wipe out your effort for the week. You may have done that, but live & learn and plan better for next weekend.5

It’s only a pound and this is a new week. Be patient and kind with yourself.3

It is most likely water retention. Get back on track. Drink more water. Give it 3-5 days and you should be back to normal.3

You will drive yourself crazy trying to focus on scale fluctuations. Very many things can adjust your weight up or down several pounds in the course of a couple of days. This is all about long term progress, not short term dips and spikes.6

Alcohol always makes me retain water for 3-4 days. I had a couple of margaritas last night and I'm up FOUR pounds this morning. They'll be gone by Thursday.
Don't sweat it.10 -
Unexpected rapid and large weight changes are always chiefly caused by water weight and food waste weight.4

If you were still in a calorie deficit or maintenance, any gains are water weight.3

LOL! I did the exact same thing! But gorgeous weather = sauvignon blanc for me! Life happens...4

Just get back on track, don't let any weight gain derail your progress.
I ate a pint of Ben & Jerry's, burrito from Chipotle and giant cookie with nutella over the weekend. Had been looking forward to it during most of my training cycle. Don't feel bad about it, don't feel guilty...that ish was good.5 -
