Hello!

I'm trying to find a diet to help me loose 2-3stone before Christmas, I'm 26 years old and am 5'11" and currently 18 stone but I would like to be around 15/16 stone. I am planning on going to the gym at least 3 times a week and need a good diet to help me loose this weight and get my body healthy.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
I'm fairly new to this so be nice!

Many thanks!

Great news: Your timeline and goals are totally achievable.

You don't need a super restrictive crash diet to be 15/16 stone by Xmas. In fact, that would be terrible advice to suggest dieting. Diets are not sustainable.

To reach your goal you only need to lose 1lb/1.5lb per week (or more) to Xmas. What this means is that you need to control your intake to 500/750 calories less per day than you are currently averaging (do you know what that is? I suspect you are currently consuming somewhere in the region of 3500Kcals/day.)

To go super conservative and guarantee weightloss try a budget of 2500Kcal per day. Throw in some exercise and JACKPOT.

The most important thing is you have to enjoy the foods you consume. If you feel you are missing out you will inevitably binge. Im not saying eat 2500 kcal of donuts per day, but what this means is if you cant live without a donut then have the freaking donut...just work around it so you still stay in your budget.

Theres loads of small changes you can make that don't feel restrictive but have incrementally a huge impact.

    Swap Soda for Diet Soda.
Swap a Latte for a Cappuccino
    Swap scrambled eggs for poached

    The list is endless.

You have this in the bag. Good luck.

    Welcome and good luck :)

Here are some great posts to read to get you started. My number 1 suggestion is to not start off with so many changes and extremes that you set yourself up to fail. Find physical activity you ENJOY and are likely to keep doing for physical health but weight loss is mostly all done in the kitchen (or rather, what you put in your mouth).

on the same line of though, don't try to go to extreme with eating too little and not eating any of the foods you like opting only for what you consider "diet food". again this can set up for binges and failure over time. set a reasonable rate of loss you can maintain and don't feel starving on.
