Just getting started on this journey. Doing the Atkins diet and excercising. Would love someone to be able to talk to about excersing and getting started because I feel ignorant to the subject of weight loss.

You have come to the right place. May I ask why you have chosen the Atkins diet? What is it about it that appeals to you?1

For exercise, choose something that gets you moving, that you love, and that you want to do for the rest of your life. Some people have to start slow, like a walk around the block, and build up to running (if running is your jam). There is so much you can do that gets your body moving and your heart pumping.
As for Atkins, if that is a way of eating that you can stick with forever, then go for it. Most people here choose CICO (calories in, calories out), without eliminating an entire food group. That seems to be more sustainable for most, but not all. Again, choose a way of eating that you can sustain for a lifetime.
Good luck!5 -

If you've decided Atkins is for you, consider joining the low carb group here. Lots of Atkins, and other low carb eaters there. LOTS.

To clarify: Atkins does not eliminate "an entire food group". Not at the beginning, and not in its later phases. Not even close.0 -
