....why did I give up?

I need some support....
I lost myself again.
I said “screw it” and over-indulged. Thinking that would make me feel better than the long-term result of working hard: weight loss... these 60 pounds that HAVE TO GO.
Because I like the taste of food.
I can’t keep doing this to myself.
What’s my WHY?!
This is gonna be a hard journey.
But I can’t give up again ..
Can someone tell me something that keeps them going? That can perhaps help me not give up again?
Feeling lost.

I'm sorry you're feeling frustrated.
For me, what helps immensely is filling out the food diary a few days in advance. I know what I have in the house to eat and it relieves stress not having to worry about my next meal. Pre-logging keeps me accountable and on track.2 -
welcome
my biggest thing would be to pick a reasonable rate of loss, lots of planning to have foods handy and ready that fit your goals. don't rely on "motivation" as that is fleeting. have a plan.
on the same line of thought, don't try to go to extreme with eating too little and not eating any of the foods you like opting only for what you consider "diet food". again this can set up for binges and failure over time. set a reasonable rate of loss you can maintain and don't feel starving on.
Lastly - eating healthy isn't an all or nothing thing and try to avoid labeling food good VS bad. I like the 80-20 rules where 80% (ish) of hte time you eat good solid "healthy" foods but it's also totally ok for 20% (ish) to be total useful but yummy food.
Here are some great posts to read to get you started.

Because I developed Osteo Arthritis and one of the things that can keep this at bay is losing weight along with moving more.
But the thing is to make small changes don't try to do everything at once. Make sure you are eating food you enjoy don't force yourself to eat stuff you don't like. Choose an excercise you enjoy, don't force yourself to do excercises you don't like.
In other words you don't have to be miserable losing weight. Just stick to your calorie goal, make it a reasonable one so you are not starving and just keep going even if you have a bad day, just put it behind you and carry on.2 -
Eat food you enjoy just stay within your calorie limit. If you are relying to heavily on willpower you need to be kinder to yourself by either losing at a lower rate or eating the kind of food you enjoy.
Don't have an all or nothing attitude. Perfection is not needed to lose weight. You just need to be pretty good.
Don't ever stop. If you eat too much one day just shake it off and keep going. The worst thing you can do is have a 'fail' moment each time you make a mistake. Consider a mistake a learning experience. Try to figure out what went wrong and adjust your plan to try and prevent it again. Do not beat yourself up. It is just food. You haven't done anything morally bad and guilt just gets in the way.
I stay out in front of my urge to do an overfeed. I have treats and I deal with my cravings so they don't grow out of control.

You can do it.
No one will try very hard if they don’t think that they get what they are trying for. It’s true. Calorie counting works. It’s the laws of physics. It’s scientifically sound.
Don’t be overly discouraged if you stumble around getting started. There’s a significant calorie counting learning curve. Keep trying. You’ll figure it out.
Don’t get hung up in the time issue. That wrecks a lot of people. Weight loss presents some tricky problems because we have to work on two conflicting things at once. We have to get the scale moving down and we have to live with it. It takes a lot of getting used to. You can do it.2 -
I'm right there with you. Stopped logging and am at my heaviest. It's so frustrating What helps me is just not buying sweets. Not having them in the house.0
